Description of Work: I had a terrible experience with Robert Construction, LLC, which included incompetent/poor workmanship and horrible customer service. Don’t be fooled by the good reviews for this company, if they are even real and not solicited. Click on this link to the Better Business Bureau, which shows you several bad reviews from customers who also experienced poor workmanship and incompetence (not doing proper permits and having to re-do work) by Robert Construction, LLC. https://www.bbb.org/us/va/falls-church/profile/general-contractor/robert-construction-llc-0241-236019055 They did a job for me in which they installed a concrete path alongside an existing concrete edge. They didn’t put an expansion joint/room for expansion, which is important because as the new path settles and moves, it will push against the existing concrete edge and crack it. A competent concrete company would know better. When I called the owner, Robert, he came out and admitted it was their mistake and said they would take care of it. I told him I needed it done soonest because the next phase of a project I had was dependent on him correcting his work. So he scheduled the repair work and my family and I arranged our schedules around it. Then he sends me a cancellation by email late the night before the job. No call/no apology. I didn’t even see the email until after he was supposed to be there the next morning. He also sent me a calendar invite for a new date 2 weeks away! Completely obvious that he bumped me and put several jobs ahead of mine, and I was no longer a priority (as a correction job). When I called him to tell him I was not satisfied with that and reminded him that I have another job waiting on him to correct his mistake, he hung up the phone on me. Then he would not answer phone calls coming from my number, so I called from another number and he miraculously answered. When I told him I needed the job done sooner as he originally promised, he hung up on me again. Then he didn’t show up for the job 2 weeks later. I threatened to sue him and report him to the Better Business Bureau and then he shows up early the next morning with no warning and his workers just start doing the work. The correction job involved saw cutting the original concrete path he laid incorrectly, which generates a ton of dust which went all over our property and our neighbors property. Nightmare. So, even though he corrected his work after being threatened and after hanging up on me several times, the correction left a huge clean up job. Do yourself a favor and go with a reputable contractor even if this guy comes in a little cheaper on price (you get what you pay for). You will save yourself valuable time, stress and money getting corrections done.

+ -1 moreI hired Robert Construction LLC to build a stamped concrete patio behind my town house. It was a fenced-in patch of dirt and the contractor removed dirt, poured a two-level patio with steps, and stamped the patio in a herringbone pattern. Robert Kim, the owner, was fast and efficient in creating the quote. He also came in the lowest of three quotes I obtained for this project. Because I live in a townhouse, my backyard is not so easily accessible. Omar, the crew chief, together with 5 workers installed the patio in one day. On the second day, the crew cleaned up and hauled away all the dirt they had dug up from my backyard. Then they came by a third day to seal the surface. I am pleased with the project and would hire Robert Construction again.

+ -1 moreWe were trying to decide whether to repair or replace our front steps. Robert Kim responded to our request for an estimate to repair our front steps which had serious problems. Chunks of concrete had broken off in places and the metal rail was in bad need of repair or replacement. Although the steps were solid there were many cracks. Robert showed up on time and was very professional. I have researched this enough to recognized that Robert was very knowledgeable about concrete repair including bonding of concrete to existing concrete, repair of cracks to prevent further water seepage into the concrete as well as repair where chucks of concrete had broken off and repair of the old metal railing. I feel Robert could have given us another 5 to 10 years life our of these steps and would have them looking very nice. Had we decided to repair I would have hired Robert immediately; however, we decided instead to totally replace the steps. I rated Robert high on quality based on pictures of his work and his thorough knowledge of concrete repair although he did no work for us through no fault of his own.
Description of Work: Robert Kim quoted a price to do repairs to 60 year old concrete steps.

+ -1 moreNot well, he said he would get back to me with the estimate and the materials he was going to use. He never make known the concrete leveling materials he was going to use. I think he subcontracts work to others although he says his employees do it.
