This company is scrupulous and honest, almost to a fault. They have never in the 26 years that I’ve been a customer done work unnecessarily. To the contrary, they constantly offer advice and services in lieu of selling me expensive equipment. Luis came to our home last week after a service visit to perform a warranty repair. He was punctual, exceptionally thorough, careful, polite, friendly and a pleasure to have in our home. He is exactly as we’ve found every technician from Richards to be. Richards' service is always excellent. Recently, we called them in when our furnace stopped working and they were kind enough to fit us into their schedule on short turnaround. The technician was prompt, knowledgeable, super professional, and a strong communicator. He quickly diagnosed and addressed the problem, took time to thoughtfully inspect the system, took the necessary action to get the heat functioning again, was detail oriented, and let us know what he was doing every step of the way. He was mindful of our budget and charged us only what was necessary, but made recommendations for further action required. We are grateful to have had his and Richards' assistance with this repair, and will continue to call Richards back for our heating and AC needs.

Team of 3 helped the installation go smoothly and quickly. They laid a tarp to minimize carpet issues/stains. They provided system overview and information. Paperwork and financing were efficient. Price was less than other bids for the same carrier system.

1400 % Mark-Up? Richards replaced a 45+5MFD capacitor, available on Amazon for $14. Look it up. Excluding installation, Richards charged $182 . They also added 1 lb of refrigerant for $230, which, including installation should have cost $50. They charged $230. I DEFY RICHARD`S TO JUSTIFY A 1400% MARK UP. Be a smart consumer. Shop around. 2

They did everything they promised. Replaced a furnace the day after it broke. (It was 25+ years old). My wife and I are in our 70s. Richards knew we were in the cold and they did miracles to get their crew here so fast. They are honest, experienced people. We have used them for 20+ years. Highest possible recommendation.

My furnace is old but in pretty good shape. I was worried about being told to buy a new system. The technician from Richard's (Maynor) was EXCELLENT !!!! He discovered that the problem was some leaves sucked into the air intake pipe preventing the motor from coming on. He unblocked the air intake and everything works PERFECTLY !! Cost was reasonable. He was honest, knowledgeable, and thorough. I will DEFINITELY use this company again!!

Truly exceptional service from sales to installation. Wayne Shenk provided no pressure sales service. He provided ideas and advice on how best to proceed in meeting our needs. Tom Smith, the owner, and Mickey, the installation manager came to our home to review the installation requirements for a new Carrier Infinity system. Our utility room is quite small and required special venting and configuration. The installation team of Ariel and Jimmy perform the best workmanship ever experienced in our home. Ever Castro was the technician who came out and worked on finding the problem and making sure the furnace worked. He was very professional and answered all my questions and did a good job. The furnace is getting older so may need to be replaced but for now it is working. Have a contract with this company for over 10 years.

They were professional, they came, and did the installation. They clean up afterwards and it was very neat. The unit is functioning properly and their price was significantly better than the competitors.

They were fantastic. They promised to replace my furnace in a day and they came through. The work was very good and professional. The manager knew what he was doing.

We noticed no heat when we returned from day trip on Sunday, Dec 6. Called Richards number and paged tech. Good news, tech arrived in 1 hour. Bad news the old furnace motor unit and controller were bad. We decided on a new unit since this was a bit older. Richards gave us a quote Monday and did the install Tuesday. The installers were very professional and courteous. They kept on masks and were mindful of the distancing requirements. The new unit was up within 4 hours and the old one gone with a very neat and tidy cleanup. I wanted a a more modern thermostat and they satisfied that request too. We rely upon Richards for any HVAC needs and we recommend them to our neighbors and friends.

I used Richard's to replace my HVAC a few years ago. Since then, I call on them for service, and they have been exceptional. They respond quickly, do the job efficiently and price fairly. I would highly recommend them.

The serviceman diagnosed the problem and unplugged the drainage pipe. He was very pleasant. He arrived right on time and he provided some additional advise about our humidifier.

Job was completed within a couple of hours. Men were efficient and willing to explain the new system.

Replaced both AC and Central air. Did not try to upsell and answered all my questions. Have been responsive to minor issues experienced after install.

When the crew arrived they found blockage at supply trunk due to fire damper shut down. They said they would have to return with sheet metal guy so they could repair the fire damper. They estimated the job would cost $800. They indicated a big job was required. When they arrived the next day, the "sheet metal guy" merely easily placed a small piece of sheet metal, visible to all and didn't need to repair or replace the fire damper. For this they demanded the $800. I called the office 3 times to talk with the manager. Although the receptionist promised he would call us, I received no call back to discuss this discrepancy. We will no longer use their services and are out the $800 plus the cost of the Spring checkup.

The install could not have gone any better. This is the second purchase I made from Richards AC, in fact this is the 9th anniversary of the first install they did for me in my townhouse. My first Carrier purchase from Richard's is still running very well and I am expecting this one to be just as great. For this purchase, I sent out three requests for quote and all but Jim Smith came back with new ac and heating systems. Jim's proposal came back with just replacing the heating system, the current ac system has a few more years left. He then came up with a proposal to heat and cool the addition on my house and his pricing was more competitive that all the other bidders. Thank you Jim for the no nonsense solution, the fair and reasonable pricing and the sense of urgency to replace the failing heating unit. I look forward to your technicians installing the ductless Mitsubishi HVAC system for the additional room.

I've dealt with them for probably 40 years continuously. It's Perfect.

Technician checked upstairs unit...no problems. Checked downstairs unit and noted the condensation pipe, which was right in front of the unit, was clogged so he opened that, then proceeded to shop-vac some water under the unit. I had received an ad from Richards for a $59 checkup (many AC companies advertise that price) so my total price should have been $118. He was only onsite for approximately an hour, which is what I was told on the phone when I scheduled. When I got his invoice, it was for an additional $45 to unclog the pipe and shop-vac the water. Not once did the technician mention this was all EXTRA work and an EXTRA cost until he handed me the invoice. I told him if he had let me know it was extra, I could have easily done the pipe snaking and water evac with my own shop-vac. It's not a lot of additional money but I really don't like businesses that lure you in with a 'special deal' then fine other ways to add profit to the job. Richard's did this and I won't be doing any further business with them in the future.
