Richards was able to give me an estimate over the phone by verifying the existing equipment and configuration. The quote was several hundred dollars less than that of one of the heating/AC "big names" in the area. The "big name" also had a three week backlog for installation, but Richards was able to install the new Carrier Infinity unit only two days after receiving my phone confirmation. Brad, who handled the estimate over the phone, was extremely thorough and responsive. Bryan and Bruno did a meticulous job of installing the new unit, which worked perfectly from the get-go. The AC unit was installed on the day scheduled and at the exact bid price. The "big name" company had given me inaccurate technical information in an effort to get me to purchase a new thermostat, which I did not need. Brad at Richards provided accurate technical information and made no effort to pad the bid by trying to sell me something that I did not need or want. We have used a few different heating/AC companies in the past 30 years, but Richards with its prompt, professional, and cost-effective approach has made itself our heating/AC company of choice. We'll stick with it as long as we and it are around.

It was a very quick process. The technician came to see the problem. In a day or two I got a cost estimate. At all times they were available for questions and were fast to make suggestions and recommendations. Installation was within a week after I decided to do the work.

Will def use again as long as all employees remain as helpful as they were when they installed it.

Fine, he found a leaking ventilation pipe and recommended that it be fixed.

It went well. Apparently they are just an AC repair service. They do not do installs, just repair, so what they did with assessing the ductwork and giving an overall assessment was above and beyond.

I have used Richards for years to service my aging heat pump. They were always helpful and professional - never pressured me to buy a new unit. When it finally died, I got five quotes from different providers. Richards was by far the lowest. I had heard mixed reviews from my neighbors about Richards(primarily about the reliability of Carrier heat pumps ) but more were positive than negative. In the end, I got a great price and a $400 rebate from Carrier. Installer was quick and professional. Three months in, the unit is working well and has cut my electricity bill by 50 dollars a month already. Very pleased. Will check back in later if I experience problems with the system in the future, but experience with Richards has been very positive.

I had purchased a Big Deal $39.00 for a Heating or Cooling Diagnostic Service Call. They came out and I was very happy with them. They made the necessary repair and there was an additional fee which he was up front with and I was fine with that. I would use them again.

Richard's Heating & Air Conditioning was good. My wife was there when they provided the service, I wasn't there. They were very prompt.

Service was performed and I have not had any problems with the systems since, so it appears that the work was done correctly. I used a Big Deal and the price was great. So I will say that the outcome was good. The technician who came to do the work was not friendly or professional. He walked through the house in very dirty boots and seemed unhappy to be here. He seemed perturbed or dismissive of me because I did not know what he was talking about right away when he was describing and asking questions about my systems. I must admit that I do not know much about how my A/C works or the parts of the system, which must have been annoying to him. But it made me feel like he knew I was vulnerable to being snowed on repairs or costs and might take advantage of that. This fear seemed to be fulfilled when he starting warning me about all the extra costs that might rack up if he found this or that in the system. It turned out that he did not find the problems he mentioned and did not try to charge me for anything extra, so my fear was unfounded. Then he had to go to the store to get a part to be able to unlock something on the outdoor units. I've had several different technicians work on these units and never ran into an issue with that, so that did not give me great confidence about his experience. In the end, it all turned out well, and he tried to make some small talk to smooth things over at the end. But I'm not interested in having this experience again and will not use RIchards again. There are plenty of HVAC companies who seem happy to have my business.

The technician was on time, very polite and did what he needed to do. He checked filters & refridgerant levels and general condition of the units. I had previously had another company come to repair one of the units. The tech from that visit told me I needed UV light system to kill the mold that was growing in the a/c unit and a separate type of trap to stop condensation leaks, to the tune of about $1600. I asked the Richard's tech about mold on the unit--he told me there was none and about the trap & he explained that it wasn't necessary. So the $300 I spent was worth it to know I wasn't exposing my kids to mold--about $1300 worth it.

Good service. Show up on time. Good interaction with the technician. I'd use them again.

Technician determined that system was in good working order, contrary to what we had been told by tech who did regular annual checkup. We cancelled our old maintenece contract and got a new contractor - Richards.

The AC tech called in advance to confirm the appointment and he showed up on time. He did a thorough inspection of the whole AC system and pointed out a couple problems that might occur in the next year or so, but he proclaimed the system in good working order. I was initially skeptical because a purchased an online coupon for the service at a discount and I thought he would try to convince me that repairs were required. That was not the case, however. I was very happy with the service and will call the company again.

The technician showed up on time - did a thorough job. Checked the air flow -- checked the outside unit -- check the inside thermostat and explained the results/findings.

I am extremely pleased with Richards Heating and Air Conditioning. Richard came out to my house to assess my requirements for a new system. As an engineer myself, I was very impressed with Richard's detailed knowledge of the technical aspects of HVAC systems. He explained how the systems that he recommended for my home were optimized for my particular application. On installation day, the team headed by Edwin showed up on time, were very professional, and took care to be neat and clean including the use of drop cloths. The installation was completed in one long 9 hour day. Richards prices are very competitive. I recommend Richards without any reservations!

Very friendly technician. I've never had my air conditioner inspected before and so I was happy to have this done for my peace of mind. He determined my system would be fine for the upcoming season. Recommended I change my filter. (One month later my air conditioning system broke and now I'm researching companies to install new system.)

Called this morning for service since our air conditioner stopped working yesterday. Also needed service on the water pipe that was leaking. The lady who took my information on the phone was very friendly and very accommodating. She was able to work in my service call for today. The technician showed up at noon and checked the leaking pipe and noticed that the water leakage had caused a fuse/switch to short. Also determined that our system was very old and the inner coil and pan was rusted which was why there was a continuous leak. After he cleaned up our system as best he could and got the switch working again, he called the sales office and requested a quote for us to install a new system, coil and thermostat. The technician was very friendly and thorough and explained everything so that I could understand what was wrong. Really friendly company!

Richard's installed a new central air conditioning system in my home approximately 6/1/2012. A service consultant provided an over-the-phone explanation of what would be required to install the new system and offered three levels of system/pricing. Everything was very clearly explained and there were no surprises in the subsequent work. Two Richard's service technicians promptly arrived at the agreed upon date and time. The old system was removed, the new system was installed, and appropriate duct connections were created. The technicians were very professional throughout the job, explaining each step as they proceeded. A Richard's supervisor arrived approximately half-way through the 4-5 hour job and confirmed with the technicians that everything was proceeding satisfactorily. The job done by the technicians was neat and clean at all times. After the system installation, one of the technicians installed a new home thermostat and explained in detail how to program and use the thermostat. Almost one year later, the central air conditioning system installed by Richard's is working perfectly with no problems to date. I am extremely satisfied with the excellent work and product provided by Richard's and would definitely contact them again for any future heating or air conditioning needs.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. The work was just fine. I couldn't have asked for any better. They came within 1 1/2 hours so they responded quickly to my phone call. They quickly diagnosed the problem and came up with a solution. Overall I was very happy with the service. They were fairly priced. I was very impressed. I would definitely use them again.

I can't say enough good about this company. They were prompt, courteous, and thorough. Their price was half their competition for the same product and service. They spent four times as much time here checking the existing HVAC before they declared it needed to be replaced, testing it many different ways. Their competitor looked at it for just a few minutes and said I would need a replacement, which made me uneasy. Four men showed up instead of one or two, and they were finished in a few hours. They protected my wood floors coming in and they cleaned up behind themselves on the way out. I am so glad that I shopped around.

I purchased 2 service coupons through Angies List. I called and they scheduled a visit quickly. The repair person arrived on time and performed the work requested. He used troubleshooting to diagnose the non-working unit. Fortunately, the part replacement worked. He inspected the 2nd A/C unit and did basic maitenance. He left notes about recommended preventative maitenance. I would use them again. The coupons helped keep the cost down as well which was nice. The additional cost was around $90 above the coupons for the part and labor to repair the non-working unit.

I asked for info twice, but never heard back. The previous time I spoke with Jim, he was half-yelling on the phone, and I felt somewhat intimidated and uncomfortable with him, but since they did a good job at my townhouse earlier, I figured I'd give them a call. It was a total bust. I'm very disappointed, but I must go with a provider who is interested in earning my business.

The repairman arrived before I did and waited for me to get home. He inspected the A/C unit on the patio, came into the house after taking off his shoes, checked the unit indoors, returned to the patio and completed his work. The noise/sound was gone and it works fine. I paid him and he left. No problems. He was very pleasant and explained what he had done.
