Richar'd Heating & Air Conditioning Inc did a great job. They came to look at my home's original furnace from the 70's. They informed me I needed to replace it, which made perfect sense because it was old, faulty, and the company that made the furnace was out of business. We spoke of the different options available and, upon making a decision, set up an appointment for the following week. They were very response and punctual. I also mentioned that my AC unit didnt seem to be working properly. Richard's suggested I get the AC serviced and maybe replace in the spring. I will definitely be using them for that job as well. I couldnt be more pleased with their service.

The Owner gave me a great price compared to other company's. They Installed everything in one day including a whole house humidifier. Brian, the supervisor was very good. Good value, service, a complete and good job was done. I had a very good experience.

Richard's is top notch. Excellent service techs and customer service. During this initial visit, I inquired about a whole house humidifier. The technician gave me as much information as he had available and the direct number for the installation group. When we called to schedule the installation, we got same day service and a fair price. Of course, we got lucky with same day, but the two techs worked efficiently and the 1/2 day job only took 2 hours. Really nice people and knowledgeable.

The gentleman came to diagnose the AC problems and found cut wires and a transmitter blew. Surprisingly they had all the parts they needed with them, quickly repaired the AC within 30 minutes and it cost mostly 250 in addition to the diagnostic call. They were great - instead of pushing a new purchase for my VERY OLD AC they repaired it. Granted they did tell me that this was a temporary fix that I should probably look for sale prices over the winter months for a new unit but still ...

The responsiveness was amazing! They were very friendly, instructional, and knew the job! I will continue to use them for all my properties. Thank you!

Great technician, who arrived early and finished quickly. Found a safety issue in the wiring Harnass for my HVAC unit, that I was able to point out to my electrician, who was able to fix it without any issues. His attention to detail was great and I'm glad he was able to identify the safety issue in my HVAC. I would use this company again.

Realized sunday that our furnace wasn't working. Called monday morning at 7:45am and explained the problem, the error code that the furnace was giving, and the model number. They said they'd try and squeeze me in, and would call shortly before they arrived. By 9:50 they called and said they were on their way. Tom arrived at 10:00am, had figured out what the problem was, and after a $86 part and my $49 angie's list coupon, he was done and out the door by 10:30am. Richards's was pleasant to deal with and they worked quickly to squeeze us in. Tom was knowledgable, friendly, and was able to quickly and competently identify and fix the problem.

I purchased a coupon for Richard's Heating & AC through Angie's List. The coupon was supposed to be for $49 diagnostic service call. I gave 3 days which would be convenient for me. A WEEK LATER they still hadn't called to set up an appointment so I called them. They apologized and set an appointment for the next day. The day of the appointment they never showed up and never called. The next morning I called them and they said the manager was supposed to call me to let me know that they don't accept the coupon in our area. If I wanted the diagnostic service I would have to pay full price even though I already paid for the coupon!! I am calling Angie's List to get my money back then have to find another company, one that is reliable, to come out to do the work.

They were fine, they came on time and they guy was very polite. The air conditioner was out and he was checking it and he found a disconnected wire. He also checked the basement unit and went outside and checked those units and began working. They came out less than a week of me purchasing the deal and I spent nothing more than the cost of the deal.

It went well, I would use them again.

The service man arrived on time, I had purchased the filters that needed to be replaced, I don't think the service man expected me to have them. He checked the units, found 2 problems with the humidifier. The Humidifier saddle valve wasn't working and the air cleaner needed 5 filter combs needed replacing. When asked about the price of the parts for the humidifier ($99 for the saddle valve and $54 for the filter) and he couldn't give me a price on the combs and let me know that I could get them from Amazon. The service man replaced had humidifier filter inside the unit and I asked why would I do this since it wasn't working, I asked to have the part taken out because of the part wasn't needed to have water flow through the unit. He did know the price to have the filter combs replaced which would be ($75 per 15 minutes) with a estimate of 15 minutes. I did check the pricing through Amazon to find the Humidifier saddle valve for $18 and the filter for $9. I ordered the parts and will get them replaced.

I bought two big deals for diagnostic calls for two heat pumps. The first tech who came out was very nice but decided based on my description that the problem was dirty air filters. He did tape over an air leak in the attic, and tried but failed to fix a loud startup noise on one of the units. I called and requested a different tech and the second one diagnosed the actual problem on one unit, which was a cracked refrigerant line. Richards isn't an authorized Trane dealer so couldn't do the warranty work on the 18 month old unit, which I appreciate him telling me, so I had to call another company to do the repair.

They were punctual and professional in giving the estimate. The work was complicated, and therefore the price was high. I shopped around to see if I could find a lower price, and was able to find someone else who could do the work for about $900 less (who had previously worked in my condo complex). However, I would consider this company in the future - as they were a pleasure to work with.

Service technician arrived on time and performed the HVAC inspection without any snags.

We appreciate the service provided to us. First, the provider scheduled an appointment promptly, at a convenient time, even though I am a first-time customer. Second, the technician arrived on time and was able to start work immediately. Third, we appreciate the technician's honesty. Some A/C companies would have looked at the age of the A/C unit, and concluded without checking that it needed to be replaced for thousands of dollars. That did not happen here! The technician trouble-shooted the components and found that the two capacitors had failed. They are pricey little parts at $85 per, but the technician and the provider saved us the replacement costs of an A/C unit. I would like to get a service contract from the provider to keep the heat and A/C systems operating properly.

I purchased an Angie's list coupon for "inspection, cleaning, and tune up" of furnace for $79. I'm marginally satisfied but there are some problems and I would probably look around for another provider if I had to do it again. The company was not responsive even though I paid in advance. When I bought the coupon, I was asked to give three suggested service dates. I did so, but those days came and went without so much as a call. I had to call Richards to set up service about a week after I bought the coupon. The appointment I did set was a four-hour window; in my case, between 8 am and 12 noon. As 12:15 passed by, I called again. I was told that "we left you a message that we changed it to afternoon," which was a surprise to me, since I had no message on either my work or home phone. Eventually the tech arrived. He went up to inspect the unit, said the pilot was out, that the pilot burner needed cleaning, and a part had to be replaced. He re-lit the pilot, cleaned the burner, and replaced a part. But when the bill came, I was told that I needed to pay $90 for replacing the part, and $90 more for cleaning. The part was fine, but cleaning was part of the service I paid for (it's right in the title of the coupon), so I don't know why he was trying to charge me again. I objected, and the tech quickly relented on the cleaning charge, and took it off the bill. But he didn't seem very happy about it. So, overall, I wasn't too thrilled with their lack of responsiveness and lack of punctuality, and I wasn't happy about having to haggle over the price when I'd already paid for a coupon up front. The work itself seems fine, as far as I can tell.

The appointment was between 8-12; About 10:30 I called Richards to follow up and was told the service technicial was running an hour late. He arrived at 1:00 and was very apologetic and professional. His name was So and he promptly and efficiently discovered the problem and repaired it. I am happy to recomend their services and will use them again in the future.

Reliable, but had to wait 2 days for them to return to finish the job.

I purchased a deal for a cooling diagnostic service call for our house. One of the bedrooms gets quite warmer than the others due to it having only one central air vent and it being located on the south side of the house. I had Richards come out to give me some advice on things to do to improve the cooling in the house and remedy the issue. They went through the basics first, such as checking the system's air filter and air temperature. They gave me some basic tips such as replacing the air filter frequently and keeping the fan on continuously when the AC is on. Eventually they saw the attic and gave me tips on how to add a new vent myself (flexi pipe and stem design). They even went so far as to tell them it would cost 5x for them to install the vent versus what i would if I were to tackle it myself. Since I'm reasonably handy, I decided to go that route. They seem like a trustworthy company. I'm very happy I spent some money on getting tips from these pros, rather than getting screwed with an overpriced quote from someone else!

I contacted several companies for estimates. Richards truly seemed interested in the best system for my house and not just trying to sell me the most expensive models. The installation itself went quite smoothly. They showed up on time and were done by early afternoon. I was very happy with the product, the service, and the financing options. I highly recommend Richards.

Price was good for the deal and scheduling was pleasant (though delayed by a few days, requiring me to reach out to them instead of the other way around, which was specified on the deal). Technician was knowledgable and recommended a couple fixes. However, there was a significant delay in follow up from the central office to do the fixes. Finally when I did hear from them to schedule work, I again reiterated that I just needed to know the price before committing. Have never heard back from them still to this day. Trying hard to find an HVAC service company that's solid to get on a contract, and even make that clear when I order service. Can't understand why the promise of more work and a steady customer doesn't motivate. Now 0 for 3 in attempts on highly rated Angie's List vendors. Will keep trying!

They were really great. They were able to fit me in same day, and came in right away. They did the job and it was kind of quick and dirty. It was this one little piece we had a feeling was out. So, they looked at it and agreed. They didn't try to say it was this, that, or the other thing, they said it was that one little piece, they'd replace it and then we'd get a ton more years out of it. The final cost was not more than $150 more than the Big Deal price.
