It was terrific service. I have been disappointed with my HVAC providers in the past and was looking for someone I could trust and be my permanent HVAC provider and found them in Richards. Please try them. The technicians and the administration folks are amazingly professional and customer service oriented. I will not use anyone else for my HVAC needs from this point forward.

Amazing experience! From the initial phone call to the company, the quick scheduling, to meeting the tech and the diagnosis. I never felt pressured into buying more than was needed. No doubt about it, when I do need services or a new system in the future - these are the folks I’m using!! I admittedly called four other HVAC companies in my area and scheduled appointments to get estimates on a new system, relying solely on another company’s recommendation that I needed a totally new system. Richards was my fifth call and after speaking directly to the owner on the phone, I canceled the other appointments. While on the phone with the owner looked, he looked up the information for my specific system and advised me that a totally new system most likely wouldn’t be necessary. He explained things clearly and patiently on the phone and I really felt like a valued customer. So often that isn’t the case these days. They were able to schedule a tech to come out and take a look at the system on the same day in the afternoon. The tech was great. He never attempted to sell me something I didn’t need. I’m so appreciative there are still companies like this around. No doubt about it, they have me as a customer for as long as I live in this area. If and when my system actually does need replacement, they have my business. And I’ll be sure to tell anyone I know about my very positive experience!!! Many thanks to Jim and Sharp!!

Not a clue on the price. They were good. They were good on responsiveness.

It went great. This is the only time when I had routine maintenance on my system and the service guy did not try to upsell me or tell me that my system needed to be completely replaced. In the past, I would say "let me get with my home warranty" and then the service guy would back track. This service provider noted that one of the systems may be older, but worked great, so just keep doing my routine maintenance. I felt it was the first honest assessment that I have gotten on my HVAC system in the past 4 years - and I have had maintenance done twice a year (spring and winter), so I have a lot of other providers to compare to this company. I think that I have finally found my source for HVAC maintenance, repairs, and eventual replacement.

Overall I'd rate them a "B". I have a yearly contract with them.

I have a maintenance contract with them. They're excellent. They do excellent work. I don't want to much around. I have old equipment in some of the buildings and then in our own house the equipment is not that old. They provide the equipment when it needs to be replaced, but they do an excellent job of installing and maintaining it. They do work at my home, at one of the houses that our church owns, at my brother's home, and my daughter's home.

To my pleasant surprise, they were able to send someone that afternoon. "John" came and spent time taking measurements and discussing the potential options I had. He said he would email me an estimate in a couple of days. Nothing. After a week, I called the office and explained I hadn't received an estimate yet (and yes, I checked my spam folder). The office person was nice, apologized, took my phone number and said she would talk to "John" and someone would get back to me as quickly as possible. It has now been a month and still, no phone call and no email with estimate. Unbelievable. Needless to say, I won't be doing business with this company.

The service rep arrived on time and did a thorough job on the maintenance. He was very helpful in answering questions regarding our system. I will definitely call them again.

Richards scheduled work for the next day. I thought they sold me a more expensive unit than I needed but it was available on short notice.

Had a failed AC system, was not happy with initial contractor and looked for more bids. Richards was one and really enjoyed their customer service and their price was slightly lower than the other two bids I had. John went over our situation in great detail with me, walking through the various options we could consider and what made the most sense for us. His explanations and time taken to explain was the main factor for choosing them and so far so good on everything.

I have a service contract with them. We've been happy with them. We got a furnace and water heater from them. For price, I don't have anything to compare it to. They always answer the phone and everything.

Richards is a low-pressure, reliable HVAC company. Unlike some other well-known HVAC companies we've used, Richards doesn't try to upsell you on every visit. For our zone 2 system, they offered the lowest price and best reviews when we compared them with other companies (including the one with whom we've had a service contract for the past 12 years) for comparable systems. No sales tactics, just reliable work, on-time, and at a reasonable price. We've switched our service contract for zone 1 (zone 2 is under warranty) to Richards.

Professional installation and follow up

They just came whenever we called them, at least once a year. They were polite, courteous and professional.

Everything went fine. The service person came within the time period provided and was very polite. I used the $79 tune-up price on Angie's list.

Engineer showed up on time, checked my heatpump system.

they fixed it. and drove to the warehouse to get the part and back same day. very happy with the service, otherwise I would have froze...

I went to Angie's List and found Richard's and they came out and fixed it. When we had the drywall done one of the nails must have punctured the line and Freon came out. I had another company come fix it but they didn't because a few days later it was leaking again and wouldn't start. I called Richard's and they sent out their best guy. He knew the leak was inside the wall. He ran a new line outside the house to the machine. It worked and has been ever since. It was great.
