The technician was very professional. However, due to the temperature and the fact the units were on the roof, he was not willing to inspect the external units.

Our heat stopped working a few days before I was scheduled to have a major surgery that was going to keep me at home recovering for three weeks. So it was important to us that we find someone who could fix it fast. Unfortunately, not a lot of places were able to service hot water baseboard heaters. Even the woman who answered our initial call at Richard's wasn't certain if they could do it, but she checked into it and confirmed they would be able to help. So we made an appointment for the day before the surgery (two days after I placed the initial call) and a very friendly guy showed up on time and looked into things. He had a couple of thoughts for what might be wrong but wasn't sure so he brought in another guy who seemed very knowledgeable. They determined the main problem (the leak) and told me there was probably one other issue with the pump but they wouldn't know for sure until the water level returned to normal. I asked them for price estimates on both parts and they estimated a total of $500 between the two, but maybe less if the pump was ok. I was pretty excited that they could fix it that day so I gave the green light. Sure enough, they needed to do both repairs but that was fine with me. The total came to about $400 which was a pleasant surprise after being told to expect closer to $500. My only gripe with the whole experience is that there was a short period after they had fixed things when we were just waiting to make sure the house was really warming up without a problem. The waiting was fine and appreciated, but during that time, the more knowledgeable guy was walking around and commenting on all of the potential problems with our heating system. Generally, his points were interesting and useful (e.g., our tank is small, so he suggested using a space heater to supplement the baseboard heat when it gets really cold for a few days in a row) but some of them seemed a bit harsh in tone since we had recently purchased the house and didn't have control over the way things had been installed (e.g., we have zoned heating and he was critical of the two thermostats being too close to each other). I really truly appreciated all of his insights, especially as a first time homeowner who has never lived in a house with a hot water pump heating system. But he reiterated the problems a few times each, and it was a little stressful for me to have this expert repeating these issues to me when they all seeemed to fit into the "smart but expensive and not urgent" category. Honestly though, I have no problems with really smart people telling me what is wrong with things I know nothing about, even if their advice comes across as a bit gruff (my mechanic does the same thing but I can't imagine ever finding someone who would take better care of my car)...as long as they aren't giving me some hard core sales pitch, and this guy wasn't trying to sell me additional services or anything. So overall, I would highly recommend them for their service, punctuality, effectiveness (heat still works 3.5 months later), and knowledge.

The experience with Richard's Heating & Air Conditioning Inc was Very good. He was on time, he did the work and that was it. They had to replace out furnace stat and another piece of the heating system. I actually called because the heading system was broken and I used that coupon for them to come look at it. The workers were good, they were nice, he did the work and he left. They were fine. Most companies charge like a ninety nine dollars visit fee but we ended up using them towards fixing something than the ninety dollars was waived, but this company it wasn't, the visiting fee was the visiting fee and whatever you needed fixed was extra. The quality was good, I don't think anything has broken since they left.

I called Richards and they were able to come right away. The person answering the the phone was friendly and efficient. The technicians were very pleasant, listened to my questions and concerns about our heating system. We recently purchased the home and the home inspector had suggested we have someone come and evaluate the system. I appreciated the quick fix and the advice regarding upgrades we can make in the future to help our systems performance. I appreciate Pete's 30 years of experience and the suggested economical solutions that he provided. I felt I was working with a company with integrity and genuine concern for their customers.

Richard's came and performed an inspection but missed a major component that went bad a month later. The component had physical damage which should have been spotted. When I called to ask about it, I received no reply. Bad service and will never use again.

I purchased a big deal from Angie's List and their services turned out okay. There was some water leaking from my furnace, I called them just to come and inspect it. They opened up the furnace and just did some checking. Their service was okay because they just checked the furnace for 5-10 minutes and they told me that I needed to replace the main component. They then called me twice to give me the price of the component, which was kind of too much for me so I did not go with them for the repair. Regarding the price of repair, they are expensive I would say. Regarding responsiveness, they are quick. They are like a mile from where I live, so I called them and they just sent a guy to come over like in the afternoon. So it was quick, it was the same day.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It went pretty well. The price was exactly what they estimated. He was easy to understand and knowledgeable.

Provider was to do cleaning and inspection of furnace. I have had this done before and this person spent 1/2 the time others have. Other company always cleaned the air cleaner filters, this one did not,

They fit me in right away and came early in the day because I was without heat, even though I had made the appointment the evening before. They even had the part they needed on their truck.

I called at 10 am, after we had been without heat for 4 days due to unscrupulous contractors, and was told that they would have someone out to my house within the hour. By 11am, Pete and Alex had showed and diagnosed the problem. By 2pm, they had my parts and installed them.....all this during the biggest snowstorm of the year. Yes, it was expensive, but that wasnt their fault, it was TRANE'S. They went above and beyond to make sure that my family had heat during one of the coldest days of the winter. I couldnt recommend them more!

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and it was okay. It wasn't anything great, but they did what they came to do. They came out first to give me an estimate, but when they came back out with the part it was about double the price. The heater is working now so it is fine. The Big Deal was $49 and the job ended up costing me $300. They came for the repair the same day I called.

Richard's Heating and Air Conditioning responded to a service call the same day. The technician identified the problem and gave us some options to either repair or replace the furnace. That evening the manager provided a detailed cost estimate that was below what I expected to either replace or repair the furnace. The next day (early morning) the installers came to the house to install a new furnace. What is most significant is that Richard's Heating and Air Conditioning responded immediately, every time, with professionalism and fair and reasonably priced solutions; you can't ask for any better than this. There was extensive duct work required and labor costs that I feel they could have billed for more, but they decided to perform the job as proposed without asking for an equitable adjustment. The repair and install technicians were always supervised by senior company representatives, so we feel very comfortable that we received the best service possible. The crews at the house were very polite and worked extremely hard, talking us through the whole process. Very please with the result and will definitely contact them again without any hesitation; they are the best I have seen in this profession.

I have a very old HVAC system (oil heat and electric A/C). The technician was very pleasant, knowledgeable and professional. He found the problem quickly, ordered the part and came back the next day to repair the A/C. I was very impressed with Richard's ability to quickly obtain a part for such an old system and even more impressed that no one tried to pressure me into buying a new system, though the technician offered Richard's services when I was ready to make a switch to a newer HVAC. I appreciated the technician's integrity and customer service. Would definitely use them again.

It was good. They did whatever they said they were gonna do. We used them a long time ago. There wasn’t anything outstanding either way. They were fine. They scheduled the visit quickly and were responsive when I called. It was easy to get them here and that’s a good point. They got me on the calendar within 3-4 days. I haven’t had any issues since using them.

Great. They came out when they said they would. Look at the unit and found out what the problem is. We are going to use them again to fix the problem.

Provider failed to show up at all for appointment set by Angies List "Big Deal". Service was paid for ... but service was not provided. I recommend booting them from selling services on Angies List.

He was able to make the furnace usable until Monday when they could replace the system. They arrived a the time promised, completed the job earlier than expected and the cost came in under estimate. Extremely professional, punctual and I couldn't be more pleased. A++++++++
