Called Richards to find out why my HVAC system recently stopped working. Couldn't get any air flowing or response from unit. Richards was able to schedule an appointment right away. Office was efficient and friendly to work with. Technician arrived on time and was able to pinpoint the problem in about 15 minutes. Turns out a surge of some time knocked out the variable speed motor and circuit board. Unfortunately, the parts had to be ordered and another visit was required.

It was excellent. They are a good company that we are still using.

They were definitely very good. I would recommend them. I think they were very professional, they were very pleasant, they were prompt, they explained what they were doing, they came when they said they were going to come, they didn't disappear for long periods of time, it was very hot up there and they didn't complain or make a mess. It was very tidy and they really did a nice job. We did call a couple of different people so I would say that they were certainly comparable to other places.

First time they checked said the system is okay and on the next I called them, they told me that the furnace will be replaced. I got second opinion and it worked for me better.

They were called for follow up. They came to into full system checkup, the system was not working properly so I called them they came and said it should be replaced. So I called some else for second opinion and that guy charged it and it is working okay still.

The service for the big deal from Richards was fine. I purchased it and basically sat on it for a year. I had to pay an additional charge, apart from the approximately 120 dollars combined for the big deals, but it was for a faulty part and I would not have expected that to be covered. I think that part was like 300 or 350 dollars. I thought that I would have them diagnose the problem and perform the service at the same time. Then the guy explained to me that they can't perform the service until the unit is functioning properly. In order to do that they had to get the circuit board and install it. Then they did the maintenance. That 350 dollars wasn't a cost for maintenance, that was something broken in my furnace. I don't know much about my HVAC but my favorite thing was that they didn't just try and up sell me on stuff. They didn't try and tell me I needed to replace everything as some companies do. The tech was nice. He was knowledgeable. I have nothing bad to say.

The technician was knowledgable, punctual and provided the solution to the problem with unfortunately cannot be fixed by Richards Heating and a/c Co.

It took them less than an hour to do the repair.

Prompt and professional. Gave an honest assessment of current state of furnace but discouraged needless repair until replacement.

The until worked ok for about 2 weeks and then the issue came back. They sent out a 2nd tech who showed me that the sensor (which was the cause of the problem) had not been cleaned correctly. The first tech simply played with the timer instead of correctly cleaning the sensor. Also, the humidifier leaked all over the floor. After I replaced the water filter, the issue was resolved. What annoyed me is that I asked the first tech if I should go get a new filter and he told me that it wasn't needed even though it clearly was. 2nd tech was great - 1st one no so well.

The serive was fine and the gentleman was said to be very polite and punctual. However, there were communciation issues that prevented the tenants (the house is rented) from being able to ask too many questions.

We bought a $49 voucher on Wednesday, 12 Nov for a Richards Heating & Air service call through Angie's List. The cold weather had already created a backlog of service requests, so a Richards technician wasn't available until Friday, 14 Nov. He quickly identified the problem, had the original equipment part on hand, and advised us of the additional cost of the part and installation. (I thought we had paid an excessive amount for parts earlier to repair a different furnace, so we reviewed cost and availability of the most commonly needed factory spare parts online from alternate suppliers and could confirm this price was fair.) I don't remember specifics, but think the additional $198 for the part and installation was within approximately $25-$40 of my cost for the part. The entire service call probably took less than an hour to complete. We were very satisfied with the all aspects of the Richards technician who fixed our problem.

They were excellent! Very trustworthy. Lots of experience dealing with our complicated system and they constantly do great work. They are also very fair in terms of price.

Excellent service, best we ever had. In the coldest weather they provide us with a heat pump, and a heating element for our hot water heater. Our previous heating and air conditioning service provider did not respond to our dire need for heat.

Went very well. The repairman called to let me know when he was on the way to my house which is nice so I can get my dogs corralled. He did everything very efficiently and told me what he was doing. Had a checklist at the end of what he had done as well as remarks about what might be needed in the future. Very pleasant experience.

Very well. Very happy with there customer service. They're honest and helpful. Every time it has been great.

The repair-man was punctual, courteous and knowledgeable. He took the time to answer questions that I asked. However, he focused on the inspection and not the cleaning and tune-up that I had also paid for. He opened up the cover to the furnace, checked things out, found everything to be in order, suggested an adjustment so that we can get more heat in the lower levels of our home, and suggested a different air filter to increase air-flow. Only after I asked, he took a minute to remove a tiny element and to scrub it with a brush, enough to say that he had done so, and that was it. When I hire someone to do an inspection, cleaning and tune-up, I expect them to do what I paid them for. In any event, if I had to break down the grade, I would give an "A" for the inspection, a "C" for the cleaning and a "D" for the tune-up.

This was great. The coupon was the definitivefactor for us choosing this company and everything worked out very well. The work was affordable.

Overall the installation went well. The estimator and install team where very prompt. The installation team was very neat and courteous. They ran into several problems mainly due to our house being somewhat old. An additional 220V line to the attic was required that wasn't planned and Richards installed that at no extra charge. There were also issues with hookup to our existing boiler that required a followup visit but Richards supplied a new boiler control and everything works fine now. The Carrier equipment they installed looks high quality although it hasn't been through a good test yet because we haven't need to turn on the AC yet. We highly recommend Richards HVAC!

They did a great job! Were quick and efficient. Heat stopped working at a rental and wanted to branch out and try a different company. Richards scheduled me for the next day - tech came on time, figured out the issue (capacitor) and got everything working in no time. No issues since. Very happy with their service and have used them a couple of times since.

When I called for scheduling and I told them I had no heat, they were able to come out the next day. The technician was able to figure out the issue quickly and correct it while he was here. He was very nice, helpful, and friendly.

My mothers furnace stopped working over a weekend. I came over and determined that I could not diagnose the problem. I looked up HVAC companies in Angies List, and chose Richards for their proximity and excellent reviews. I called Monday mid-morning, and the dispatcher made an appointment for me that afternoon. The technician was there at the appointed time, and diagnosed the problem as a failure of the blower motor and its associated "module". Richards did not have the part in their shop, but the technician got expedited delivery of the part, and it came the next day. He came promptly at 8:30 that morning, and had the heat working again by 9:30. The price of the part (including installation) was $1302, and the service call/diagnosis was $125. I thought the price of the part was high, but then again I have never shopped for a blower motor and module. Overall a very good experience. I would recommend them.

I have used them in the past. I have been very pleased with them. They are very responsive and were able to come out within a day. I like that they send the same technician so he knows our unit. They are very professional.
