I reached out to them several times over several weeks, and they never got back to me.

While their price was good compared to other estimates I received, and they did complete the work for the originally quoted price, the work was low quality and their follow-up after the job was non-existent. First, I have a beautiful 100+ yar oak tree in my front yard, and they packed in a thick layer of dense soil all around the base of the oak tree, which was completely unnecessary for planting the thuja trees and is proven to kill oak trees, which need to have their roots exposed to air. I had specifically confirmed with Larry Conrad, the company representative, that they would not do this. My husband and I spent an entire day moving the soil ourselves to give the oak tree air because we wanted to move the soil as quickly as possible to prevent damage to the oak tree. The thuja trees then became scorched from the summer heat and drought, despite a lot of watering, and many branches on the trees died. Larry came back to look at the trees and promised that they would come prune the dead branches off of the trees, plant a few shrubs in front of the trees for additional privacy (in areas where their shoddy work had left huge gaps), and see if any of the trees needed to be replaced due to irreparable damage. For over six months we repeatedly called and emailed the company and they repeatedly said that they would come back to finish the work and never followed through. Furthermore, their placement of trees was terrible. They put the thinnest and shortest trees in the areas that needed the most screening, and packed in the thickest tallest trees in areas where they were overcrowded. I would not recommend this company at all. Furthermore, I do not believe that they are licensed or insured. Their company is not licensed according to the Commonwealth of Virginia licensing website. Larry Conrad kept promising to send me their license, and never sent it. We signed a contract with them that includes a one year guarantee of the trees, but I do not believe that they would honor it.
Description of Work: The company ordered and planted about 32 thuja occidentalis trees, each 5-6 feet high, in my front yard as a privacy screen.
