A long crack had developed all across the width of my brick entrance way. Several bricks were broken as well as considerable mortar. Mr. Jarrett first made two trips with sample bricks to make sure the replacement bricks would match the 20 year old existing bricks. He then painstakingly removed all the broken parts and carefully replaced them with the new bricks and mortar. The result is terrific and the walkway looks like new. First class work.
Description of Work: Repaired long crack in brick walkway.

Ron Jarrett provided one of four estimates that I requested. (2 companies never responded. 1 was a little pushy.) Ron came to the house himself to do the estimate. He gave a very detailed written description of the work he would perform as well as potential faults that he would be looking for and fixing as he started disassembling my chimney down to the roof line.. Ron and his assistant worked every day for 4+ days. They were cautious not to trample my shrubs and plantings. The chimney was in poor condition, requiring extensive demolition. All of the scraps were hauled away and the work site raked clean and materials neatly stacked each day before leaving the job site. The finished chimney is perfect. The flashing and mortar cap are neatly integrated. There is some slight mismatch between the new bricks above and the older bricks below, but it is a better match than most of the other chimney repairs I have seen in my neighborhood. And as the bricks weather a little, I think the appearance will even out.
Description of Work: My chimney cap was cracked and crumbling. Bricks from the roofline up were spalling and shedding thin layers of brick fragment that piled up in the gutters and littered the garden. Water did not get in to the house, but eventually it probably would have. All the damaged brick was chiselled away, which was the biggest part of the job. Each night before leaving, the work area was wrapped in plastic to keep rain out of the roof and walls. It rained two nights and there were no problems. Ron created a new, thicker, reinforced cap on top which looks to be superior to the thin, unreinforced original. Fortunately the chimney lining was intact and did not need repair. Flashing between the roof and chimney was also re-attached.
