Hall's Landscaping

The men arrived on time, set up their equipment, put down tarps and dumped the mulch on the tarps. They used double-wheeled barrows to haul the mulch, which left no trails in the grass. The men worked continuously except for taking about 1/2 hour break for lunch. After both jobs were complete, they spent about an hour just cleaning up the area; after they finished, one would not know they were even there. They were prompt, the cost was very, very reasonable, and the materials were of good quality. I can not think of a negative thing to add. We will be using their work again.

Yet again, I have no complaints about this company. Lou, Rob, and the guys, did a fantastic job on a very difficult hill. Last year, Lou told us that our project for this year should be to look at cleaning up the hill that was covered in random brush, weeds, and plants. Well, he was right. We took it for about a year and then called them in to sod the hill. We had first taken down a couple of large pine trees that were aimed right at our bedroom window and then Lou's guys came out to move the mulch created by the tree removal and start the sod process. It took two days of work and our backyard now has a beautiful grassy hill. The crew is very professional, polite, and thorough. You will not be disappointed in using these guys! I know that we will continue to use them for any and all landscaping jobs that we may need. They do it all and they do it well!

My yard was in bad shape and I didn't think I had the time to do it myself. Last year was the first year I hired someone to do a spring clean and that worked out well for me (not Hall's, but that company didn't work out for other reasons. the spring clean was good, but the on-going service was not. But this review is about Hall's) When I called initially, I receive a response withing 24 hours. After receiving a reasonable quote (I had other quotes that wer comparable, but Hall's was on Angies List with good reviews, so...), I decided to go with them. On the agreed upon day of service, they showed up early, and finished much quicker than I thought. Even if it had taken them all day, it was still more than I could have done on my own in a week! I don't know about their other services, and I personally don't have the budget for major landscaping, but for a spring clean and general maintenance, I have no complaints. Thanks.

The landscaper was very responsive and was very helpful in discussing some of my landscaping projects. His price was a little more than I wanted to spend but I am certain his crew would do an excellent job, nonetheless.

The work was done on time and professionally. The results were excellent.

WONDERFUL! I arrived home from work to find Jorge and David doing the final clean up (over 30 bags of debris). My garden looked beautiful! I know how much work it takes to do the job as in the past I did it myself - which took a few days. I was so impressed with their hard work and professionalism, I intend to use Hall's to work on my remaining flower beds.

Lou and his team are very easy to work with and there are no language barriers. So having a conversation and getting what you want is easy. Highly recommend.

Our inability to get to our Winter and Spring yard work coupled with recent storms and heavy winds left our yard covered with debris and in need of care. We found Hall?s Landscaping on Angie?s List and decided to call them to see what they could do. Within a couple of days Lou Heins set up an appointment to come by and give us an estimate. George actually did the site visit (he was right on time). He spent a good deal of time with me and my wife listening to what we wanted done and offering very good suggestions. Within a couple of days of the site visit, Lou had prepared the estimate and scheduled the work to begin within the next few days, an accommodation that was important to us due to my complicated schedule. The work consisted of removal of 3 trees (two very close to the house), major pruning of a very large Sycamore and a large maple, installation of Cobra Cable between the two trunks of the Sycamore (and very high off the ground), general pruning and shaping of several other trees and many shrubs, trenching and mulching (about 17 cubic yards) of large planting beds, removal and relocation of about 1 cubic yard of flagstone, and installation of a new flagstone landing off of our patio. All the work was done beautifully. George stayed on the project the entire time and was there to answer any questions we had. It was clear at all stages of the process that everyone involved took great pride in their work and paid meticulous attention to detail. They were incredibly personable and very professional. When they left, everything was immaculate ? just as they said it would be. One more thing ? we received quite an education during our conversation regarding the do?s and don?t of tree care. The first project went absolutely fine. The second project did not go fine, he cut down one of my favorite large bushes. He cut down one branch and realized his mistake. Instead of telling me he cut down the whole thing. They were very apologetic and bought two new shrubs to make it right. It was a mistake.

Lou from Hall's set out clearly what the work would entail both during the consultation and in the written estimate, and he was very helpful in talking through possible additional planting work, including descriptions and lists of specific plants that might be chosen for new planting. Everything was done professionally and promptly, and Lou kept me informed as to when work would be performed.

Since I never hear back from them, I waited a few days and then found another Landscaping company who gladly came the next day, gave me an estimate and followed through beautifully. I contacted Hall's Landscaping because of their positive rating on Angie's list. I was disappointed that I never received any call back or email from them.

My email got a response the next day. I was told that they could fit me in the next week. They arrived on Tuesday of the following week and worked all day. It was a huge job as the areas were covered with leaves and branches and weeds. They were very professional and neat. My yard looks fantastic! I've never had any service do such a good job.

Responded promptly to my inquiry and came on time to give an estimate. The weather influenced when the work could actually be performed. Did a great job and I would definitely use them again. Very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. Lou Hall doesn't try to talk you into work that doesn't need to be done.

We contacted Hall's and scheduled an estimate meeting. Lou of Hall's arrived and was a delight to work with. We received an estimate by mail; we accepted the estimate and scheduled the work. We were able to make some adjustments (e.g. eliminating the mulching) beforehand without hassle. On the day of the service, Lou and two other workers came and worked hard for many hours. We are very delighted with the work as it has opened up the wooded area of our back yard while enhancing the plant line that provides privacy.

Very responsive and quick turnaround. We needed a large area in our backyard mulched and some stone to control erosion. Lou came out quickly provided us an estimate and had the work done within 3 days of agreeing to their estimate. The guys who did the work were professional and clean. They were also polite and let my son watch them work. The yard looks great.

Everything went well. All the negioations were done online as was the payment.

Hall's Landscaping performed excellent work and were delightful to work with. I first contacted Lou Heins via email after reading great reviews about the company on Angie's list as well as on my neighborhood list serve. He got back to me within 24 hours. Lou made the process easy, first suggesting that "we could approach an estimate in one of two ways--we can either set up a time to meet, or I can stop by on my own and have a look at the bed work you need done. Let me know which works best for you and we'll go from there." I chose the latter and had a professionally drafted estimate with notes within a few days. Once we agreed on the scope of work, Lou's crew was out and completed the work within a few days. They were professional, friendly and absolutely meticulous. My yard looked fantastic! The crew even took special care to work around several garden beds in which tulips were starting to emerge. When I initially requested an estimate I mentioned the tulips and asked whether this would present a challenge. Lou assured me it wouldn't be a problem--and he was right. The crew treated the beds with TLC and not a single bulb was damaged. Hall's Landscaping was worth every penny, I plan to use them again and strongly recommend their services to anyone.

We are so pleased with our yard and Hall's Landscaping. Lou and his team were a pleasure to work with. They were timely and thorough with their responses, fast and courteous in completing the work, and we could not be happier with how our yard looks. My husband and I both agreed that while professional yardwork (in general) is pricey, Hall's was worth every penny!

We use Lou and his crew exclusively, at this point, for any lawn work that we might need. We let our beds get a little out of control during this last year and so needed them to do a complete re-work to get them back to normal and they look absolutely amazing right now! We also have a large hill in the back yard (up-slope) and wanted that mulched... no easy task and they did it with professionalism and perfection. Lou can do just about anything you need for your lawn and has removed poison ivy, mulched, sodded, and redesigned our gardens for us throughout the last year and change. They are very polite and work hard with almost no input needed from you. I definitely recommend them for anyone needing some work done!

Our yard now looks better than it has for years. We are looking forward to having them come this spring to do more landscaping.

We recently purchased a new home where the landscaping had been left untouched for years. The plant beds were overgrown with weeds and other undesirable plants. We met with a few landscapers but none seemed to have the knowledge, experience or advice that Lou Heins freely shared with us in our 1+ hour free consultation. During that time Lou made a lot of suggestions, including recommending a separate lawn care company, offering advice on how to maintain what we currently had as well as how to improve the curb appeal of our home. Following our initial consultation we received a detailed drawing , plant list and estimate from Lou via email. Hall?s Landscaping is extremely busy and in demand so we had to wait our turn, but it was worth the wait. His team arrived on the scheduled installation dates on time and worked quickly and efficiently. All of his staff were extremely courteous. Lou?s brother managed the job onsite and communicated with us regularly to ensure we were pleased with the placement. We were amazed at the amount of work they were able to accomplish in two days. Because we were traveling the week following the installation and had no one to water our newly installed plants and trees, Lou offered to stop by regularly during our trip. He and his team clearly go above and beyond for their clients which is why they are the highest rated landscaper on Angie?s List. Don?t let the slow turnaround or long wait dissuade you. They are fantastic! We look forward to having them return to work on our backyard.

. I called Mr. Heins and within a week he came over to look at the areas I wanted landscaped. Within a week, he sent a list of all the different plants he thought would do well in these mostly shaded areas. I looked up all the plants he recommended, and then gave him my approval of his plan. I was pleased that his plan fit so well with what we already had. His crew came and introduced themselves and did an excellent job of placing the plants and mulching and cleaning up the area. I would use this company any time I needed to do anything regarding gardening/landscaping.
