Hall's Landscaping

They did a great job. At first the cost was a bit high for us, but when we saw all of the work it was well worth the money. Everyone was professional and friendly. We are extremely pleased with the work. We did receive a 10% discount for mentioning Angie's list.

Outstanding work! We had work done by Halls before and were very satisfied. We were even more impressed with the work this time! They edged all beds with deep edges and removed all weeds in the beds. Months later, the bed edges are still in place in spite of heavy rains! They then mulched everything we asked them too and there have been very few weeds poking through their mulch. They again cleaned out the debris and undergrowth under the treed portion of our lot (amazing how much accumulates in such a short time) and carted it off with them. the work took several days and was well worth the money. the team was friendly, dedicated and hard working.

They gave us exactly what the space and our family needed and they were professional, respectful, and efficient throughout the process. I don't typically sing praises on this forum but these guys deserve some serious accolades. We will use them again and have already been asked for referrals by two sets of neighbors (and they finished their work not 24 hours ago!) Outstanding job

Every interaction with Hall's was both professional and informative. The work was done as specified, with helpful advice and little touches like separating and spreading the bulbs and other plants around, or identifying and saving the good plants while pulling the weeds. The yard looks night and day different, and even though their estimate for work was higher than the other companies, we are pleased with the work performed.

I was grateful that the plants were able to get in the ground so quickly. The remainder was to be done at a later date. It kept getting postponed until I said to wait until fall to mulch and at that time trim and do the fall cleanup. Hall's readily agreed. I'll call him in the fall.

Hall's has become our annual go-to yard-cleaner-uppers. The routine is this: I let our yard get totally out of control, it looks terrible, we call Lou and company, and they come out a few days later and make everything look immaculate. In this instance, the work wasn't particularly cheap for what it was, but the volume to be done was pretty heavy. And Hall's, as always, was prompt and professional. So I think they get an "A" in the price department given how strongly they perform in every other category. At least you get what you pay for, which is more than you can say about a lot of companies. So here's where I reiterate all the relevant parts of a review that I typed up last year at about this same time. Our yard (at a single family home in Arlington) was a mess after we had neglected it for the first half of the summer. The weeds and unkempt bushes were taking over everything. The combined effect was unsightly, and it would've taken me days (that I didn't have) to make it look decent again. It took maybe a week from my initial email to Lou until the day that Hall's did the clean-up, which was fast under the circumstances: it was during a busy time just before July 4. Lou was professional and responsive, as he had been on both prior occasions when they did work for us. He sent a few guys to take care of the work on a Tuesday: we left for work at 9.00, returned home at 6.00, and the yard was magically fixed at some point in the interim. I'm guessing it took them six hours or so. As on previous occasions, they left no mess at all. In short, we had another great experience with Lou and company and will almost certainly use them again next year. Thanks again to these guys for a job well done from start to finish.

My experience with Hall?s Landscaping has been exceptional. Lou was very responsive to my initial inquiry. He sent Jorge to meet with me to see the property and assess my landscape needs. I liked the suggestions that Jorge made and Lou was very helpful in suggesting various tree and shrub replacements for some plantings that I wanted to change. Lou sent me an estimate which I thought was very reasonable. Jorge and his team did an outstanding job. Both front and back yards look great!!

Lou responded quickly and we set a date. He arrived on time and we discussed the work to be done. I needed two moderate size trees removed and replaced with another type of tree. I didn't know what I wanted to replace them with. Lou offered some suggestions as we talked. He then researched options and sent an email that evening for me to make a selection from - then he would provide an estimate. When I choose, he again responded very quickly with the estimate. Unfortunately, his price quote was twice as much as the landscaper I chose to work with - for the same tree selection and same work. I appreciated his knowledge and his promptness but the price was too high.

This was an all-around excellent experience. Lou, George, and their crew provided great service. The work was top notch and turned out better than I expected it to, particularly with the work that we had done on the flower beds. In addition, the price was excellent for the work that we had done.

Lou came out and gave us a very fair price. I set an appointment. Rob and his colleague arrived as expected and spent a good amount of time pruning all of our bushes and did an excellent job. We also got a discount through Angie's List. We will absolutely use them again.

The place looks a lot better now. Hall's employees were very friendly and resonsive and I was especially pleased that they cleaned up the after a storm that happened in the middle of their work. The storm really stripped off a lot of tree debris in the whole neighborhood, but our yard looked great.

The owner’s name is Lou Heins. He has been 100% consistent, helpful, on time and quick. He has been really very good. He does what he says he is going to do. He does it when he says he is going to do it. His guys are helpful and courteous.

We were concerned that there might be too many plants in the new area so Lou agreed to let my wife reposition things after they set them up. He gave us credit on the the two plants we felt we did not need. The responsiveness of the workers was fantastic. They exuded the feeling of we are here to do this well and will make any modifications you wish. They really had a tough job getting the Azaleas out. My only issue of responsiveness was with Lou up front. We were largely communicating via e-mail and at times it seemed slow. Once the work was settled this became a distant memory and they came when they said they would and the workers were very responsive as I noted earlier.

I contacted Hall's Landscaping to get an estimate for yard cleanup. Lou Heins was very prompt in responding, and was very professional in all of his communications with me. He sent someone to walk our property (George, I believe), who spoke with my husband and provided some helpful suggestions for how the work could be accomplished. We received a detailed written estimate by email just a few days after I initiated contact via the company's web site. We wound up choosing another company that provided a lower estimate (a decision I sort of regret now, but that's the subject of another review). When I informed Lou, he couldn't have been more pleasant about it, saying that if we need Hall's in the future just let him know. I know that reviews are weighted less when work isn't completed, but I wanted to pass along how pleased I was with the entire interaction. If the professionalism of this company in the face of a "no" is any indication of how things go when it's a "yes," you can bet I'll be contacting Lou again next time we need any landscaping.

The crew did just as terrific a job as last year when I had them take on a similar project. I am no longer embarrassed by having a yard that was overgrown and full of weeds. Halls Landscaping has turned my yard into one of the nicest in the neighborhood. Lou and his crew came when they said they would, responded to all of my questions, and even came back to do a few things that I noticed after the original job was done. They are first class, very nice, incredibly responsible, and I look forward to using them again next year, too.

Lou was wonderful. When he came out to discuss the work, he had some terrific suggestions. He emailed me pictures of the plants we discussed. The workers arrived on time and were professional and courteous. I would definitely recommend them.

Lou and his team took my overgrown and out of control yard and transformed it into an amazingly neat, manicured and clean yard. I travel a lot unfortunately so it took us a little bit of time to connect, but once we did, I explained what I needed and Lou articulated back exactly what I wanted. He was clear about what needed to be done and let me know the timeline. Everything surpassed expectations. I returned from a trip and it was done. I was so impressed. The neighbors even commented on what a great job they had done & I said--"Hall's Landscaping" that's all you need! I would and plan to use Hall's again.

They were very timely, and punctual. They were extremely attentive to all details of the job.

I contacted Hall's landscaping for a quote. They responded promptly to inform me they are booked past the 4th of July. I appreciated the prompt reply as we are looking to do work ASAP. In addition they even went the extra mile to give us a referral. I will contact them again in the future.

This is the second time we have used Hall's Landscaping. We first found Hall's Landscaping via Angie's List last year. Lou was willing to come out and meet with me and wife to discuss the job. We had just moved in to our home and the flower beds and bushes were neglected by the prior owner. The weeds had grown to about 3 feet high in one bed. It was easily a two day job. Lou's crew did a fantastic job and the difference was like night and day. We decided to hire his crew again this year to do another spring clean up (which cost less this year since we didn't let things get out of hand). We had to wait about two weeks due to weather and the fact that Lou is in demand. However he is worth the wait and my wife and I are again very happy with the work they did.

Very responsive and the yard looked great afterwards! They even came back a couple of times to finish up and check on a shrub staking. The guy who conducted the estimate even came back to check on the job right after they finished that same day!

Hall provided an estimate that was reasonable but a bit higher Than a couple other providers. So, I ended going with one of the lower priced guys. However, hall was very knowledgeable prompt and professional.

They were pleasant to deal with and very punctual but they were too expensive.

Excellent, once again. Have used Hall's in the past and will so again. Lou Heins came over and did a thorough inspection of our job and delivered a fair estimate. His crew worked for a full two days on this job and did terrific, thorough work.

From the estimate to the final departure, the team was professional, thorough and completed all tasks waaaay above and beyond what I expected. And I expected a LOT! In thirty years of doing my own gardening/landscaping tasks it took a leap of faith to hand the reins over to strangers. I'm so glad that I did. The yard looks fantastic and for the first time in five years I avoided a trip to the dermatologist for a poison ivy treatment. Since I had no point of reference at first the price felt high (other estimates with fewer options were half the price) - but given the results and the terrific work ethic of Hall's team, it was definitely worth the price.
