Hall's Landscaping

After getting five estimates, I was impressed with Robert Holmes, because of his low estimate ( about 1/4, to almost 1/2 of the cost of competitors), and also because of his honest and straight forward manor. He told me exactly what he and his crew would do, and the cost, immediately. We decided on a date, and they showed up ready to work, on the dot. Robert Holmes works with a crew of three other men, Alex, Robert and Nelson. Three of the hardest working people I have seen. They removed massive amounts of grass, bushes and yard debris. And Created beautiful beds by edging an intricate landscape around the border of my yard, by hand. The beds were filed with high quality top soil, and beautiful Leyland Cypress tree's planted in a perfect row, finished with at least 10 inches of mulch. The work was without fault, and the property left immaculate. When the job was completed, I payed Robert Holmes the balance, and tipped Alex, Robert and Nelson. The crew was packed up and ready to go; instead of leaving Alex spent over a half hour fixing my fence. It has been broken for years. More than several companies have come and gone during this time, and Alex, a Hall's Landscaping employee is the only person who has taken the time to fix it. Payment was completed; he did it on his own time. After surveying their work, I realized all of the countless little things they did, none of them 'part of the job'. I am very lucky to have worked with Halls Landscaping and will absolutely refer my friends and neighbors.

Scheduling of the job went very well. Lou is always great to work with and more than willing to help me decide on types of plants to try. On the day of the project, Jorge and his crew arrived in the morning and after a brief consultation began their work. They accommodated all my requests regarding plant placements, trimming, mulch, and cleanup. I have been using Hall's for my landscape needs for the last few years and am always more than pleased with the results.

Lou was very responsive from the start, setting up the date and time of the estimate, scheduling the work and then following up with me when the work was complete. They created tree rings where there were none and cleaned out and then mulched and edged large beds around the front and back of the house. Lou's team was very professional and went above and beyond the initial scope of the job, trimming bushes to ensure the work looked perfect when they left. I would highly recommend Halls' landscaping for spring cleanup and mulching and will be using them again in the future.

These guys were great. From getting the quote to scheduling the service to the actual work. The yard looks so much better thanks to them. Everything they did turned out really well. The edging looks great. The new tree is a huge improvement over the dying tree it replaced. The workers were polite and professional and before they started working they asked questions up front to make sure they knew how I wanted work to be done. Would definitely recommend them and use them again.

My yard looks GREAT. Lou really knows plants and what will look good in which place. We have used Hall's Landscaping for a number of years and have always been quite pleased with the results. Lou is incredibly easy to work with and we have been using him for years now! For everyone's awareness, realize that the good landscaping companies are all busy in the spring time and you should be prepared to wait a little bit to get good work done. If the weather turns bad, that will put people behind and your work will slide down the calendar just like everyone else. On that note, Rob and his crew came out and did a fabulous job. Every year that we have them come out nets us lots of comments on how good our beds look. They work through pop-up rain showers, heat, cold, and we have even seen them come out on Sundays in past years! They do a great job cleaning up after themselves and seem to take care of the yard as if it were their own. You should not hesitate to call Lou to get on his schedule! We never do and it is well worth it when complete.

Team members were very professional and very detailed while performing lawn and landscaping services. Team was very courteous and respectful and went above and beyond to meet my needs.

On the day after they were scheduled to complete our work (and were delayed by rain), they showed up prepared with all materials. They were incredibly polite, courteous, and respectful to us, and our townhome neighbors. They completed the work earlier than expected, and ensured their work met our expectations before leaving. We were 100% satisfied and would hired them again for additional work!

Hall's was great. Lou was quick and responsive with the estimate. They were also really accommodating about the scheduling, as my trees were a little late losing their leaves. They came on a Saturday so that I did not have to take off work. Two workers spent the bulk of the day hand weeding, taking care not to weed my baby plants. There was a very large garden area under the tree that needed mulched. They did an awesome job. I received many compliments on how nice the yard looked.

Crewed arrived on day they were scheduled. Reviewed planned work with me. Did a thorough and professional job in all respects. Cleaned up completely after work and ensured I was satisfied with everything before leaving. Definitely would recommend.

They were dedicated and did a quality work. They ensure that we were satisfied with their work all through. They also cleaned up the areas pretty well before they left. Overall, we are happy with the work.

I received 10% off for ordering them off Angie's List. The cost was supposed to be $500 and I had the work done for $450. It was excellent. The workers were very pleasant. We were very happy with the work. They were all very nice. They were very prompt. They said they would be out that day and they were.

This is my second year using Hall's for spring cleanup and mulching. They do a great job. I contact Lou through email for a quote, and he is quick to turn one around. After I accepted the quote, it was about three weeks when they were able to start and complete the job. The yard and the beds all look great. Hall's is very easy to work with and they do a good job.

As usual, Hall's Landscaping delighted us. We got a reminder about spring clean up scheduling (by email) about a month ago. I asked to be put on the schedule and was kept apprised of timing. A couple of days ago the team showed up and did the work, just as requested and expected. I say 'expected' but every time Hall's does work for us, my expectations are way exceeded. With Hall's Landscaping I feel like we have our own private gardener because the team seems to treat our back yard like they would their own. Beautiful!

Great service! This is our second year in a row using Hall's Landscaping for our mulching. Lou is very responsive via email. I let him know our yard was ready on a Sunday, and his team was out that Tuesday. They were efficient and it looks great. Well worth it when you factor in the cost of mulch and the time it would have taken us to do it ourselves.

It went very well. The job took two days, and it all looks great. Work was done very carefully, digging weeds by hand etc. Excellent job! I had two other offers which were slightly cheaper, but this ended up as the best value for sure.

Lou replied immediately and gave me the name and number of a company that does do this service. Terrific customer service!

My wife, who is the gardener in the family, is very happy with the result, so needless to say I am pleased too. Lou, the owner of the company, came to our home on a cold Sunday afternoon and did an inspection and consultation. He offered some good ideas which we appreciated. We had a quote a few days later. He had his team on site shortly after the snow melted, so I would consider this a very prompt response and timely effort. The crew was efficient, hard working, and knew what they were doing. They spent two days on our property, busy the whole time. Our yard looks substantially better after their work.

The end product was satisfactory, and a decent price. But you get what you pay for in terms of professionalism and administration. The weather prevented the crew from doing the job on the scheduled day, which is understandable, but they never rescheduled and just showed up randomly a few days later without notice. While the work was being conducted the crew spent quite a bit of time standing around talking and smoking in my back yard. Not only do I not want anyone smoking on my property around my kids, they charge by the hour. The manager gave a dubious excuse as to why they're constantly smoking on the job. They knocked time off of the invoice, but that still doesn't address the issue of smoking on my property - for health and safety reasons. There was also some suspicion that some of the crew were drinking while the work was being performed, but the manager (who was not present) claims that was not the case. After the work was done they had a difficult time collecting payment. It has taken 3 months to get their PayPal account to work properly. The only way the payment would go through was if I sent it as a PayPal gift and not as a business transaction, which I refuse to do as you lose PayPal's consumer protection that way. I have screenshots to prove that the payment issue was not on my end. They finally sent a payment request that seems to have worked. In the end the work was completed, but certainly not in a way that will garner my return business.

I contacted Hall's via email and received an immediate response - within a few days Lou had come out to survey the yard and provide me an estimate. I was able to handle everything through email (which was very convenient for me); Lou was very responsive to all of my questions throughout the job. They performed the work in the time frame I requested and did a great job - my yard looks fantastic. I will definitely use them again!

Excellent in all respects. Highly professional and competent work crew. They used spades and other implements and did not damage the surrounding lawn or existing landscaping. They removed all debris and did cleanup of the work areas. The work was all performed as I requested. I am very pleased with the results and plan to use them for future landscaping work.

I had been sweeping leaves since August and didn't feel I could deal with anymore cleanup. And I definitely couldn't cut the Kudzu without risk of bodily injury. So I called Lou, whose crew has been taking care of the Spring mulching and weeding for the past several years. Within a few days, the job was done--just before the rains came.

I emailed them several days in advance and was put on the schedule immediately. I was asked if the leaves needed to be bagged but my house backs up to wooded flood plain so that was not necessary. I get a huge amount of leaves due to the woods behind my house plus my own and my neighbors' trees. Our Christmas decorations were already up on the lawn and the guys were careful not to disturb any of that. The beds were thoroughly cleaned out and my grass appeared after being covered in leaves for weeks. I did not need to be at home which was a much appreciated luxury. I've used this company for many years not only to clear leaves but to mulch the beds around my house and to trim the shrubbery. They are always careful and take great pains to clean up when the work is done. The pricing is a bargain in my book for all the work that they do so well. You can't go wrong when you hire Hall's.
