Background: We had a furniture delivery gone wrong (tons of damage to our paint, and some drywall damage). The delivery company sent their handyman twice, and the job really required a professional. The delivery company chose this person (Denis Gemond) to do the fix. I was sent an email with his name and company name and was told he would call that day. 10/10/10 - I speak with Dennis (at the end of the day) and I give him several options of when I could be available to let him in to get a paint sample. We settle on Sunday, and since we had no plans I told him to just call me by Saturday to let me know what time he would stop by. He tells me he will try to get back to me faster than that, and we leave it at that. 10/14/2013: I do not hear from him all weekend. I call him on Monday, leave a voice mail and do not hear back. 10/15/2013: I call and leave another voice mail for him and finally hear back after I write and call the delivery company that contracted him. When I finally speak with him we plan to have him stop by on 10/17/2013 at 5:30pm. 10/17/2013: My husband leaves work a bit early to be sure to be home in time for Denis. I have an appointment and am not at home. Denis calls me at 5:35pm to discuss my address and directions. I (again) give him my address and stress that it is not a good time to talk for me as I am in the middle of something myself. Denis calls me twice more in the next 20 minutes, expecting me to give him step by step directions, and finally getting the point when I told him I was busy and that he needed to use him GPS. He finally shows up at about 6:00pm and looks at the walls. He does not write down the paint name/number (we have a can), nor does he take a picture. I meet him in my driveway on his way out, and he promises to check his schedule and call soon. 10/21/13: I call him to check on the status. I had requested work to be done by 11/1/13 as I was having visitors and this has been an ongoing situation for over 2 months. He hems and haws, saying he is busy and isn't sure what his schedule looks like, and so on. I essentially spell out that he needs to check him calendar and put me on it. I give him 7 days that would work for me (I can work at home, weekend was open, etc), and again request he check him schedule, put me on it and let me know by the end of the day a committed date he would be there. He does call me back by the end of he day to tell me he could not do the work because "he didn't really do that kind of work", I didn't not stick on the phone with him to listen to his various excuses as he had wasted enough of my time. Essentially - He knew the work I needed, he knew my timeline, and he proceeded to waste almost 2 weeks of my time with his foolishness. He ensured, by wasting that 2 weeks of time instead of not agreeing to a job he could not do, that this would not be resolved before i have guests. And of course I cannot have this area painted while I have people staying so he set me back much longer than that! He is disorganized, a terrible communicator and i would never hire him for any sized project. I see that he is listed ender kitchen and bath - hire at your own risk, you will be without a kitchen/bath for much longer then you planned. Be cautioned that he cannot handle and organize such a tiny job if you are considering him for larger work. He is very unreliable and you will be chasing him the entire time.
Description of Work: Provider was to paint/fix drywall in the entry-way staircase area of my townhouse to fix damage done by a furniture delivery. No work was actually done as this contractor was a disorganized time waster.

THE WORK WAS BEAUTIFUL, BUT I HAD TO MAKE SEVERAL CALLS TO GET THEM HERE ON TIME & GET THE KITCHEN COMPLETED IN A TIMELY MANNER. THERE WAS NOT A PROBLEM WITH THE QUALITY ONCE WE GOT THEM HERE.
