I settled on Custom Stonescaping based on Ron, who came out to give us the estimate, which was by far the most reasonable. Ron spend tons of time explaining the project to me. We needed a new patio because 10 years ago I hastily elected to have a stamped concrete patio put in. Within 2 years, it was noticeably deteriorating. Frustrated that I had spent 75% of what a stone patio would have costed, I looked for someone to fix it, but eventually found that fixing it was not possible. If I wanted it to look good, I would have to start from scratch. Ron promised the flagstone patio would be more durable and look terrific, he was right! Also, the team that did the work were incredibly polite, responsive when I had (probably dumb) questions and absolutely meticulous about cleaning up. the result is fantastic! can't recommend this company enough. Morale: never do stamped concrete. Spring for stone!

We interviewed three or four different companies for the project and ultimately chose Custom Stonescaping. We are so glad we did. Not only were they competitively priced, but they were responsive, easy to work with, thorough and do amazing, quality work. We had several meetings and calls with our project manager and engineer, Horacio, at the outset of our project. Horacio designed a beautiful layout that incorporated everything we needed and wanted. Throughout the process, he was extremely communicative and gave us advance notice on everything - decisions that needed to be made, when the crews would be arriving, next steps... you name it, Horacio was on top of it. The offered a full service experience that was absolutely stellar. If I could give them 10 stars, I would.

Excellent after project service regrouting tiles, demonstrating how I can remove algae from them in future.

Had one issue. They coordinated with Washington gas to mark the gas lines. As they put in the new patio the lines became unclear with the trampling of the grass. When they came back to put in the fence, the fence crew hit a gas line. They took care of the issue with Washington Gad and finished the fence putting down grass seed to replace the trampled grass.

Aaron and the team at Custom Stonescaping are phenomenal! We had a very intricate and large project completed in our front yard. They worked very closely with us and our landscape architect on a daily basis to make sure the project was completed to our satisfaction. The crew is very friendly and hard working. They show up on time every day and clean up thoroughly at the end of each day. All of our neighbors have asked for Aaron's contact info because they are so impressed with our project. We could not be happier with our experience!

After four years of planning, we finally made the decision to go with Custom Stonescaping in February 2022. Custom was flexible enough to give us a handful of quotes over that timeframe as our project changed in size and design before we were able to make a final decision. We had two front flagstone pathways installed as well as a bi level back patio. Crews came on time and were very efficient and organized, and maintained a high attention to detail, which was a reflection of their great skills and experience working together on past projects. In addition to basic patio and walkway design, Jeff Reynolds (CEO and Founder) helped us to understand how to add additional drainage features to the project so that it would work well with our graded lot, tie into our existing gutter system and push the water as far away from the house as possible. Our projects involved all three exterior doorways, and it was fantastic that the crews were so accommodating with us coming and going during the project between working from home and sending kids to and from school. We only had one small adjustment during the project that needed to be made and Custom modified it to our liking immediately the next day. In addition to the overall care and project management from Jeff, two things positively unique to our experience with Custom compared to other companies weâ ve worked with on other projects are that the crews cleaned up the work sites each day- including hosing down walkways and the driveway from mud and debris (not just at the end) and the multiple person crews worked hard each day without any idle time standing around between tasks aside from official breaks. We are fairly experienced in sourcing and reviewing quotes from various home improvement companies and we would absolutely recommend Custom Stonescaping hands down. A competitive price for excellent work and we will look them up again if we have a future need.

Great value. Good to greet work. Less than desired communication

I am very happy with my new 65" wall and 22'x15' patio. The team worked well together and the Team Lead was always available to answer my questions and explain each part of the the process. They were diligent in working, ensuring project was aesthetically balanced, correct and functional. They took the time to clean up each day, not only my project, but also my driveway and sidewalk. Horatio managed our team, and he and his team did a fantastic job! They installed a large flagstone patio, multiple stackstone retaining walls, and a set of giant boulder steps in our backyard. They did a really high caliber job, and paid a lot of attention to detail, and listened carefully in terms of how we wanted the job executed. We'd absolutely use them again!

Ron, Benny, and the team at Custom Stonescaping have just completed our patio and landscape project and we are blown away with the results and the entire design/construction process. We are actually a bit sad it is over because they were so wonderful to work with! Initially, Ron came to the house for a free consultation. He listened to our high level wishes, provided an abundance of ideas, then quickly produced a detailed quote and drawing with pricing, plant types, hardscape, etc. There was no obligation at this point but we already knew we wanted to work with this company. Not only did he put in this upfront (free) effort, he was incredibly friendly and genuine (and loved our moody dog which was a nice bonus). Ron has a TON of experience, and his knowledge of plants, their blooming cycles, height variation, maintenance requirements, etc, produced a plan that was well thought through and will allow our landscape to be flowering/colorful at all points throughout the season (even adding some all year greens in places so a bed isn't bare over the winter). The communication was perfect between acceptance of the quote and start of construction. Once construction started, Ron checked in with the team and us every single day to make sure the daily plan was clear and we were happy. The construction team's work ethic was superior and they completed the project on schedule and within budget. ZERO complications even as we added some things along the way. It was an absolute dream team and we hope to find more projects for them in the future. Thank you Custom Stonescaping, it was an absolute pleasure to work with you.

Quick response, good wort

I am so happy with the work Custom Stonescaping did for me. I worked with Aaron Burns to make a cramped overgrown little townhouse backyard into a gorgeous space that I can actually use now. When he came to give me an estimate he sat down and showed me my options and explained how it all worked. When my original idea was too expensive for me to handle he suggested some ways to bring down the cost. And my cat (who is normally very shy around strangers) would not leave him alone- which other animal people will understand is a huge point in his favor. And when it came time for the actual work to happen I found the crew to be absolutely amazing. They knew exactly what they were doing. Absolutely meticulous attention to detail. Right before the final step of the work was completed, after they had left for the day, I noticed one of the stones they had laid had a crack down the middle. I was going to ask them about it the next morning, but before I got a chance they had already noticed and were talking about how to fix it. And they were so nice. At one point my anxiety brain wouldn't leave me alone about the grading being done properly, so Marvin (the foreman) showed me with the leveler that it was all done right. I could not be any happier with this company, their work, or the people involved. I plan on hiring them again in the future to replace some of the fencing around the gorgeous patio they built for me.

Project: Replace brick retaining wall with stone veneer, replace concrete walkway, porch and steps with flagstone. I'm very pleased with the finished work. Am particularly happy that existing shrubbery was preserved intact. We have received many comments on how it has improved the curb appeal of our home.

Love the patio. From design to completion, Nic was amazing to work with. I would recommend to anyone looking for hardscaping.
