Description of Work: Pick up and haul away book shelves, sofa, chair, coffee table, small appliances, computer desk, and building materials. Deliver furniture to Goodwill and the building materials to recycling and dump.

+ 0 moreThey showed up on time in the 9am - 11 am window and called before they came (they called at 8:45 and showed up at 9:30 am). When they came, they assessed how much of the truck it would take up (1/2 a truck) and quoted the exact price that the person on the phone said it would be if it were a 1/2 a truck. They were efficient, professional and pleasant. They were also grateful and left a positive impression on all of us.
Description of Work: A great service! We were finding it difficult to find a company that would pick up trash after the wedding we were having on 4th of July weekend, so I jumped on Angie's list to see if there were any recommended trash removal services that may be working over the holiday weekend. I came across College Hunks Hauling Junk and not only did they pick up right away when I called with questions, but their prices were fair and the service on the phone was friendly. They also had one slot available for that Sunday morning to pick up our trash and we were able to reserve our spot with my credit card. When I called back to switch the card to the dad's card, it wasn't a problem and they didn't charge the card until after they showed up at the house where they assessed how much they were going to be taking off the property (their rates go by the amount of space on the truck it will take up -- for example, an 1/8 of a truck, a 1/2 a truck etc, and if you don't know what the equivalent of that is, they give you every day examples like "an 1/8 of a truck is the size of one large refrigerator.") This is a great service and I would definitely use them again in the future. BTW, we tipped these guys and they were so grateful and said they really appreciated it because not everyone thinks to tip them, so it was very appreciated and I just couldn't believe anyone would consider NOT tipping them for coming out to do a job we couldn't do! Just a reminder to anyone who uses this type of service if you have the means :)

+ -1 moreThe window for arrival was between 8-10am and they called a half hour prior to arriving within this time frame. It took approximately 45 minutes for them to load everything in their truck. They worked diligently and were very professional. They left the area they loaded the truck in very clean. We were pleased with the job they did.
Description of Work: Located in Colorado - They hauled away approximately 40 stepping stone/pavers - some as large as 18"x18" square, plus several wheel barrow loads of pea gravel.

+ -1 morethe C.H.H.J. team of two showed up right on their scheduled time, which was a hot and sticky afternoon. They explained their list of services, which include many handyman services I just may hire them for in the future to do. Upon agreement they went straight to work and finished hauling away all of the junk in my garage that had been sitting there for an awful long time in less than an hours time. they were courteous, neat, polite, and efficient. I would recommend anyone looking for extra hands for whatever their nagging at home tasks may be to give the folks at College Hunks Hauling Junk a try. Well done fellas!

The billing was based on the volume of the truck, which was explained prior to their arrival. It was very, very good and we would use them again. The price was fair and it was a genuine value.

+ -1 moreMy father had used them in the past and had a good experience so I gave them a shot. As expected they were wonderful. They were on time, very professional, and down to earth. They took away everything and even cut me a break cause they were able to recycle some of it. I would recommend them to anyone and will definetly be using them in the future.
Description of Work: I had them haul off furniture and other junk left behind by a tenant in one of my rental properties.

+ 0 moreThese guys are all business and no nonsense; they ask you what you want done and then do it. If a piece of junk furniture is too big to move--out come the sledgehammers, and they reduce it to kindling in ten minutes. They were punctual and honest; they reduced the quoted price when the job took less time than originally estimated. If you just need stuff out of the way fast, I would certainly recommend them.
Description of Work: Needed unwanted furniture (bookcases, desk, entertainment center) + trash moved out of apartment and disposed of.

I needed a combination of furniture moved around the house and some furniture moved away and taken out of the house. Previously, I could not find a company that could do both the jobs. I would recommend the variety of services that they offer. They offer delivery and pickup services. I will use them again in the future.

+ 0 moreI was very pleased with the services. I requested the move only two days in advance and they were able to take care of me. The only problem encountered was with the national scheduling area. I booked the move and they said they would send a confirming email. When the email did not arrive I called back and was told they were having computer problems that day, so I booked the move again although some of the information was still on the system. I recommend you request email confirmation and follow up if it does not arrive. The moving crew was out of Santa Cruz. They arrived 15 minutes into the two hour window and proceeded to do a courteous and professional moving job. The move was completed with the two hour minimum. If you are doing a small local move, consider using this company.

+ -1 moreThey were half an hour early (nice). They got everything done in less than two hours and were cheerful and friendly throughout. In a couple of places they could have been a little more careful, bumping walls and storing things in piles.

+ -1 moreThis is a national company, so the booking is done through a national database. The crew was supposed to come between 8am and 10am to remove a few items from our condo. When I called at 9am to check on the status, they informed me that there was a glitch and they lost our reservation, but they would get them there between 3:30 and 5:30 and call before they came. The crew came at about 1:00pm and no one had called me. Which was ok. The "downgrade" on professionalism is towards the central dispatcher-- not the crew members. They performed the task in a very timely manner. I found the price to be WAY to expensive and this is before I was a member of Angieslist and could hunt for other companies. Also, they did ding my walls a bit more than professional movers.

+ -1 moreThe guys had finished the previous job and called us to see if we would move up the appointment which we did. They arrived as agree, inspected the items to be hauled and quoted a price. They worked for approximately 2 hours removing the items which ended up being more than quoted and approximately $80 more. We were originally quoted about 3/4 load and it ended up being almost an entire load. We were ok with this because we had actually added a few items. They ended up having to return the next morning to collect a few items that they could not load the day before. We were not charged for the return visit. They were pleasant, professional and accommodating.

+ -1 moreI would recommend College Hunks to anyone. My in-laws passed away after 36 years of living in one house. Even after several estate sales, there was still paper, old furniture, electronics, and junk left in the house. The guys from College Hunks were prompt, polite and very professional. Most importantly they were bonded and insured. They sent three guys at first, but after seeing the extent of job, they brought in a fourth at no additional charge to us. They came in uniform and brought their own tools to break down furniture. They even asked my wife if she minded them breaking down the furniture, so they could get the maximum in the trucks. Four dump trucks later, the job was finished, the site was clean, and there was no damage to the property. This job required climbing flights of stairs, carrying some heavy items down flights of stairs, and picking up debris left in the yard. They kept at it even in the rain, and finished the job on schedule.

The price was less than the estimate provided by the office based on my description of the items to be removed. I ok'd the price, and they removed the items promptly--it wasn't easy, since both items were extremely heavy and bulky. Great experience, I would use them again.
Description of Work: Removed a very large and heavy TV that no longer worked and a big ball of concrete (about 2 x 3 ft) that had anchored a basketball hoop.
