Description of Work: I contacted Cameo Kitchens in order to obtain a proposal for a complete renovation of my 1980s kitchen. I was extremely impressed with the company and their products. But I was also impressed with the talent of the designer assigned to work with me, Virginia Vipperman. She provided a beautiful design that captured everything I'd wished for in a kitchen. Unfortunately, the proposal exceeded my established renovation budget, and therefore I did not select Cameo to perform the renovations.

Description of Work: Working with Tammy and the guys at Cameo was a fascinating learning experience for me. Tammy's design was perfect for my needs. She was so easy to work with. She came out and did all the measurements and made a lot of suggestions for me to consider in the process. I was very happy with her final plan. The guys did the cabinets, countertops, sink and faucets, appliances, lighting, new electric outlets and electric box, chair rail and paneling in the dining area, and the floor, all in a month, while my chihuahuas and I spent the time in a screen tent out in the back yard. The crews were prompt and efficient, cleaned up after themselves and took away the debris every day, so there was no big dumpster in the street (and nothing potentially dangerous to my dogs left on the floor.) Every day they explained the work to me and answered all of my questions and concerns. I'm very pleased with the results. The only drawback is that they don't do the painting. I knew that up front and was fine with it (it's a small kitchen and I'm a good painter), but life does get in the way and here we are, almost a year later, and I still don't have the painting done. That doesn't mean I don't love my new kitchen. I REALLY DO! I'm looking forward to putting my loving touches into it and getting the paint job completed to finish it all off perfectly. Thank you, Cameo! I couldn't be happier with their work. I recommend them very highly!

+ 2 moreWe really didn't get another estimate because we wanted them. I like that they come in and tell you exactly how long it's going to take. They kept to the schedule, I think our kitchen took about 2 weeks. The cabinets they provide are made by them or a company that works exclusively for them. They give you different vendors you can go to for the ceramic tile, appliances, etc. The reason they give you people you can go to is because that they know that when they want appliances delivered and put installed they will be there and there is no down time. I wasn't wild about their ceramic tile guy, but they fired him.
Description of Work: Cameo Kitchens remodeled our kitchen, laundry room and bar area. They also did some ceramic tile work.

+ 5 moreI have had friends that have used them, so I got on their list for my remodel. They work on a closed contract, so I never have to pay more if the job ended up costing more. Plus, they guarantee their work forever. I had a few minor things that were wrong, and they were right out to correct them. They started on time, the staff was courteous, they cleaned every night before they went home, and they completed the job in a timely manner. When they took out the wall, they discovered that the ceiling was higher in the dining room. They could have just patched it, but they completely redid both ceilings, at no extra cost to me! They are the best! Their designers are wonderful and really worked with me to get the design I wanted. They were very careful to make sure that everything was done properly and they took care of all of the permits.
Description of Work: They did a complete kitchen remodel. This involved knocking out a wall, all new cabinets, counter tops, and appliances. They also put in new lights, new tile, new electrical, and new floors.

Description of Work: We met with the rep, he provided detailed line drawing for our kitchen renovation job. The only reason I wouldn't use him again is because we ultimately found another contractor who we have used for follow up projects. But Cameo was our second choice!

+ -1 moreExcellent people to work with from start to finish. No hidden fees. Right on schedule from start to finish. Very professional. I decided to have the floor replaced during remodeling (not part of the original proposal) and that caused some problems ... none of which were Cameo's fault. However, they made sure the job was done right with very little down time. The thing I liked the best is that the workers (special kudoos to the carpenter) made no assumptions about what I wanted. If something (such as a switch plate) or a drawer pull could be installed in more than one spot, they asked me how I wanted it done. I only wish they still remodeled bathrooms.

They have even come back several years later to readjust the doors which need adjusting due to normal settling since we did inset doors.

+ 7 moreThey primarily provided the cabinets from a manufacturer in Pennsylvania and the cabinets were very nice. They coordinated all the procurement of all the component parts of the kitchen like the appliances, plumbing, electrical, floor tile and the granite countertops. We just had to make choices of what we wanted in terms of style and color. They did all that prior to work beginning. They told us that it would be finished in a month, but it was done in 28 days. It was a turnkey type operation and it was very well done.
Description of Work: They renovated the kitchen in my townhouse. They took out all the cabinets, took up the floor, replaced the appliances and replaced the cabinets.

+ 9 moreIt was an amazing experience! I do not regret ever doing this and would do it again in a heartbeat! This company showed up every day at 7:30 A.M. to work and they had all of their materials before they started. They cleaned up every day. George, the designer, made a wonderful detailed plan for us, after he carefully listened to what we wanted. They used exacting sub contractors. When the job was done they gave us a booklet that had all of the vendors phone numbers and the warranty information. The price was right on and we knew exactly the costs. We are still agog daily at the beautiful job that they did.
Description of Work: I had them do a huge remodel job. They gutted the kitchen and remodeled the family room to create one large room. They moved and replaced windows and doors. They created a new kitchen with sinks, faucets, tile, hardwood flooring, granite counters, custom cabinets, etc.... They are not builder grade materials. We selected high end products.

+ 4 moreCouldn't have had a better experience! Price-wise, Cameo was in the middle; but you get what you pay for and they were worth every dollar. All employees and contractors with which we interacted were very courteous and knowledgeable. Cameo works on a closed contract so there were no "surprise" charges once the contract was signed and after work began. They started work on the date they gave us at the time we paid a small fee to hold the install date (this was at the time when initial plans were reviewed). Work was completed in four weeks time since they have their own team of carpenters and have direct working alliances with select electrical and plumbing contractors to prevent unnecessary delays. Contractors cleaned-up at the end of each day and the whole process ended up being far more pleasant than we initially feared. Extra bonus: Cameo guarantees their work and will repair anything they or their outside contractors did as long as you own your home.
Description of Work: Our designer, Lee Duer, spent about 2-1/2 hours conducting a thorough evaluation and measurements of our existing kitchen, listened to what features/changes we were interested in making, then he offered some wonderful recommendations based on his years of expertise. After this meeting, he came up with excellent, detailed drawings based on our meeting. Our complete kitchen remodel included the following: removal of old cabinets and soffits, removal of a linen closet; installation of new cabinets and appliances, Silestone countertop, ceramic tile backsplash, under-cabinet light fixtures, leveling of ceiling to meet top of cabinets, centering of existing ceiling fan/light fixture.

After we were initially concerned that Cameo Kitchens was out of our price range, they came up with a great design that did, in fact, meet our budget (we added some extras that took us over the budget). It included a lot of the custom-kitchen looking features (furniture style toe kicks, bumped out base cabinets in areas, etc.) that make it look great. Cameo set an installation date and, as they always do, met it. We did have a few problems with the cabinets being constructed incorrectly (e.g., not having the right side finished, door was warped) that were Honey Brook's fault. Cameo took care of all of these problems for us without hesitation. They strive for perfection. The kitchen looks great.
Description of Work: Installation of new custom cabinets (approx. 27 linear feet) & island (7 ft) in new kitchen space. As all of Cameo's cabinets are, they were from Honey Brook custom cabinets. We chose white cabinets with full inset drawers and doors. Price also included installation of Silestone countertop.

+ -1 moreWe heard about Cameo through a friend. We had met with a few contractors before we met with Cameo. Cameo gives what they call a "closed" contract. What they mean by that is they won't raise the cost of the job if they failed to see something, so it was the highest of all our estimates. But Cameo never came to me with any "surprises" during construction- any changes we made altered the bill. They showed up on the date set with all of my new cabinets, 3 carpenters, 2 electricians and a plumber. All of them had a copy of the complete job file, some 50 pages. If they had a question anyone of them could consult it. As they removed the old wall, they were careful to vacuum the air as they cut into the plaster, so the dust wouldn't fill my house. And everyday they swept up after themselves. Three weeks from the day they showed up they were FINISHED! Wow, right on time. You can't find a better group of people. Thanks again Cameo.

+ -1 moreThe process of getting our kitchen remodeled from the time we first contacted our designer to the time the work crew left went really smoothly. The designer had great ideas and suggestions and did a great job of trying to accommodate our needs. The work crew were polite, efficient, friendly, and punctual, and they always cleaned up after themselves. We were told it would take 3 to 4 weeks to do our kitchen. It took 3. All the work was done with great attention to detail. Once the bulk of the work had been done, there was a cabinet that needed to be adjusted. We had a very difficult time getting someone from Cameo to come and take care of this for us even though the company guarantees its work, and we were told that it wouldn't be a problem to take care of this matter. It took several months and many phone calls before I finally got someone to come out and take a look at the problem. Despite this, I would probably use Cameo again simply because the overall was very good.

The remodel itself started on time and was completed on time. Prices are high but are well worth it when you consider the highly individualized and quality services and products offered.
