Fantastic process. Cameo Kitchens (and Tammy, our contact) was helpful, creative and friendly. We couldn't be more excited about our kitchen and the great service we got from Cameo!

We contacted Cameo Kitchens in April 2013 to discuss a complete remodel of our kitchen. They came to our house to take measurements and discuss what we wanted to have done. When we met with them again, we were very impressed with the design they came up with. In the end, the price was at the top of our budget which did not leave us much room to cover any surprises so we did not select them to remodel our kitchen.

They are very knowledgeable; they are very, very professional and do very good work. They are very thorough.

Cameo Kitchens have a very detailed process, starting with an initial consultation at thier HQ with a project manager. The process allows the customer to be very specific about their requirements. The project manager helps you to make decisions at every critical stage (like choosing the types of cabinets, colors, stains, countertops, etc.). Our project manager was Mike. He guided us through all the stages of the process and the choices that we had to make. The whole process from start to finish took about 7 months, The actual work was completed within 4 weeks (in time for the Christmas Holidays). At one point we had some issues with the cabinets, but the Company put this right in a way that shows their commitment to quality and their good reputation. We can't be more pleased with the result of our fabulous gourmet kitchen which is featured on Houzz.com at http://www.houzz.com/projects/46427/Willis-Kitchen. We wanted a certain look and feel to our kitchen and Mike was very patient and helpful at every stage to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. The price is a reflection of the quality, workmanship, and attention to detail that you get from this company. If we ever moved to another house, we would definitely use Cameo Kitchens again.

They were on time and they do as they say. Everybody that works for them and with them is excellent. I highly recommend them.

It went very well. They gave us a great design for the kitchen and did a great job.

The overall process went great. We interviewed numerous contractors in the Northern VA area before signing with Cameo. Cameo (and Mike our designer) were by far the most professional, best organized and thoughtful of all the firms. They worked with us on the best design for our space, and guided us through the process. We are extremely happy with the end result.

Virginia visited our home, spending about two hours to thoroughly measure and discuss the space. A couple of weeks later, we visited Virginia in their showroom, which was well stocked. She spent even more time walking us through our options, and ultimately presented us with an itemized estimate and schematic drawing. To my dismay, the cost was 25% over our budget. In our continuing search for a communicative, thorough and dependable remodeler, I can say that Cameo offered the most impressive level of customer service and professionalism. I would definitely hire Cameo if my budget allowed.

Overall we are extremely satisfied with the quality of their work and product. We solicited a bid from Cameo based on a referral from a friend of ours who is very hard to please. We evaluated four bids and selected Cameo. They're not the cheapest, but they're the best.

It went extremely smoothly. We had remodeled other parts of the house and found that it always seemed to be more expensive and take longer than expected - not with Cameo. Their estimate was what we paid, the timeline was completed within a day or two of the expected date. Since they did this remodel between Thanksgiving and New Years, it was important that I had some function in the kitchen by Christmas - they made that happen. I can't say enough positive things about the quality and professionalism of the Cameo workers. They were on time, worked diligently, kept the house as clean as possible and got the job done beautifully. I would use them again without hesitation.

Highly highly recommend Cameo. The selection process could not have been easier. George was our designer and he had practical and useful suggestions and was so patient. We wanted to change the size of some upper kitchen cabinets after the job was underway (and the original cabinets had arrived and were in our living room), and wanted to add an entire bank of upper and lowers in the dining room and he never batted an eye, just worked it in. The crew was excellent - professional work and professional attitude. We hated to see them leave at the end of the job. I have heard many stories of how difficult it is to be without a kitchen for an extended period of time but it was virtually painless, and all because of their experience and attitude. I would not hesitate to undergo another renovation with them. And it looks beautiful!! Better than we ever would have imagined.

In my job, I help bring quality management methods into federal government contracting and service production processes. A ?high-quality provider? seeks to give a customer exactly what the customer wants and, if possible, to surprise and delight the customer with unexpected suggestions and support. Cameo is such a high-quality provider. We could not have asked more of them and were repeatedly surprised and delighted by the high skill and service-oriented attitude of everyone on their staff. We can recommend them for this kind of work without reservation. We are happy to join the growing number of our neighbors who have had similar experiences with Cameo and have beautiful kitchens as proof of Cameo?s commitment to quality. Our experience began with a designer who visited our home, listened carefully to our needs, took time to study the rest of our house and assess our taste, offered suggestions on options that might meet our needs that we did not even know existed, and developed a detailed plan. We worked with her over the course of several weekends to reach agreement on the plan and finally on a price. In the course of developing this plan, we met selected specialists on Cameo?s team who, for example, verified that our soffits could be removed and a window could be significantly enlarged without compromising any functions relevant to the house. They developed solutions that included adding new structural support to an external wall and moving internal duct work. They verified that the completely new lighting design and a secondary prep sink that we wanted were feasible and compatible with code. They also ultimately mounted a new TV on the wall in a way we had not thought possible and upgraded our TV cable system to make that possible. Cameo uses a closely calibrated template to walk a customer through a series of decisions that must be made about each element of a new job. Over the course of several months, our designer was with us at each step of the way, accompanying us to make decisions on the design for new cabinets, on granite for countertops, on how to cut the granite we had chosen to fit our needs, on tile to complement the granite, and on fixtures for the new cabinets. Throughout this process, she asked helpful questions, challenging our choices when they did not match what she would have expected, and apparently learning more and more about our taste so that she could make increasingly well-focused recommendations over time. We chose to use suppliers that Cameo recommended, even when friends told us that they had had very good experience elsewhere. Each supplier we worked with knew Cameo well and was happy to work with them, even though they recognized that Cameo was a demanding general contractor. All were courteous, helpful, and fair in pricing, even when our designer did not accompany us. We came to feel like Cameo had introduced us to a parallel universe of companies we had never heard of who all seemed to share a common belief in high-quality service. Who knew?! When the work team actually arrived, they immediately moved our refrigerator into our dining room, taking great care to protect our hardwood floors, so that we could cook from there while work proceeded. They secured the kitchen so that no dust could enter the rest of the house. They removed all debris from the front of the house every few days and left the workspace inside the house free of dust and trash at the close of every work day. We asked them to remove our old kitchen cabinets and countertops carefully so that a neighbor could use them. Cameo then helped move the materials removed down the street to the neighbor and even helped install some of them in the neighbor?s garage. This help did not affect our price. We talked briefly with the team lead every day or so to resolve unexpected issues as they arose and to clarify details of the design plan. Meetings occurred before we left for work and did not require either of us to alter our normal schedules. The team lead had run his own company before and kept the job well under control at all times. We received regular updates on progress and what to expect next. The team made the 5-week deadline that Cameo had promised at the beginning of the job. For what it is worth, work of some kind occurred almost every weekday, giving us the impression that the schedule was tightly planned and executed. Glitches arose when other suppliers took longer than expected to complete their work, but Cameo took these in stride and in several cases executed work that the suppliers should have completed to make sure the schedule held. These additional tasks did not affect the price. Installation of the garden window is emblematic of Cameo?s approach. We planned for the new window to protrude from the kitchen well out over a set of 40-year-old azaleas. To install the window, Cameo constructed a scaffolding over the azaleas to protect them. The team must have had a hard time working in the space they created, but the window is gorgeous, and the azaleas are as happy as ever. Cameo?s approach contrasts completely with the approach another company took recently when installing new exterior lighting for us, this time above 40-year-old holly bushes. That company simply cut away enough of each holly to get its ladders in place. We were furious, but the damage was done by the time we found out. We never faced such worries with Cameo. In the course of executing the plan with Cameo, it became apparent that we would need to make some changes in the plan. Our dishwasher, which had been on the fritz, finally died, so we would need a new one. Cameo?s supplier, with whom we had already worked to buy several other new appliances as part of this job, offered a replacement dishwasher on the phone and simply added it to the plan they already had to deliver our other new appliances to Cameo for installation. As the plan progressed, it became apparent that our now aged aluminim sliding doors would look shabby in the renovated space. We asked Cameo to add new painted wood sliding doors to the plan. They developed a plan to get new doors in place without changing the agreed schedule. Similarly, it became apparent that vintage stained pine shelving that we had hoped to retain in the wet bar would look ratty in the new surroundings. Cameo arranged to have their cabinet makers provide custom shelves to match the space and the new natural cherry cabinets that we were installing. The new doors and shelves added increments to the price, but had no effect on the final deadline. Price increments were reasonable. Cameo does not paint. But they recommended someone on their crew to remove all the wall paper in our kitchen and paint when the rest of the job was complete. He took several weekends to complete these tasks. Every Saturday morning, he arrived in a Cameo truck and uniform with an assistant and applied the same rules that Cameo did?no dust in the rest of the house, complete clean up every night, and the highest commitment to quality. We are impressed by Cameo. We are delighted with our new kitchen and the experience we had getting it in place. You can be too.

Cameo Kitchens remodeled my mother's kitchen 20 years ago. My mother's job as well as mine was done perfectly within 1 1/2 weeks. Everyone who works on Cameo's jobs is employed by Cameo full-time (except floor layer who has worked for them forever and turned out to be a great all around handyman). During my kitchen job (large kitchen) the supervisor was there every minute of the day, the workers, materials, etc were always on time. The supervisor always asked me if there was any question about how I might want even the smallest detail. They were flexible about last minute minor changes, courteous, very professional and very capable. I've heard the horror stories of folks not having a kitchen for weeks, months even. Cameo may cost more but they make it a really pleasant experience. You never have to worry. I sure wish they still did bathrooms !

Since we knew what to expect there were no surprises. The old kitchen cabinets were removed, our appliances were moved out. We were always given updates and what to expect. We were told that the kitchen would be completed in 3 weeks and it was!

I like everything about them, but their prices are a little high.

We had a great experience with Cameo Kitchens. We worked with George, who was very professional and really helped us through the process. The project began and ended on time with no issues. We love our new kitchen.

The company was recommended by a friend of ours who had their kitchen done by them. Their waiting list is 6-8 months long and they’re not cheap, but they employ their own staff: their own drywall people, ceramic tile people, etc. There’s no waiting for subcontractors. Their carpenters were exceptional and their skill level was especially good; they completed the molding. I had a discussion with them every single morning about what they were going to do and answered any questions that they had; they wouldn't go forward unless they spoke to me first. Their communication with the client is top-notch. The designer was terrific; it was quite easy to get to a point where we agreed on everything. They did a terrific job! It was worth every penny for the peace of mind that someone was here every morning to get the job done. Also, they coordinate with other vendors; they have suggestions for flooring companies, appliance distributors, etc. so I don't have to coordinate with those companies. They take care of it all. They also work with a company who builds all of the cabinets. The choices of the cabinetry are infinite and they're also incredibly skilled.

I don't know how a remodel experience could go better. Cameo was ahead of schedule, and the quality and installation is impeccable. Each Cameo employee that we came into contact with was professional, friendly, and very capable. We're THRILLED with our new kitchen. When surprises arose, Cameo made them their problem and not ours. And the price they quoted was the price they charged. We'd recommend them to anyone and wish they did bathrooms so we could use them again! OUR DESIGNER WAS TALENTED, KNOWLEDGABLE, FLEXIBLE, KEPT US ON BUDGET, AND MADE THE PROCESS EASY AND FUN: We really enjoyed working with our designer, Mike. His design was awesome and just what we wanted. In fact, there were things he did that we didn't realize would be as wonderful as they were until after the installation and we started to live with it. He was also really flexible about making changes. Mike was also great about keeping us in budget. He steered us away from unnecessary things that would add huge amounts to the expense, and always helped us look for ways to save money. We got estimates and designs from other companies that did NOT do this. I'm usually pretty high strung and have heard nightmare stories about kitchen projects. Its also a very large expense and something you will live with for a long time. But somehow I stayed relaxed and unstressed about the project. I never worried about it and was confident that if we ever had a problem Cameo would make it right. We ran into an issue early on where a door we needed to fit our washer and dryer through was too small and couldn't be permanently widened for structural reasons. (We moved our laundry room to the basement to make room for a bigger kitchen.) Mike came in right away, said "this is our problem, not yours" and then offered me three great options for how to deal with it -- all at no additional cost to us. Their options were not the "quick and cheap" way to fix it but the right options for the long term. They were great, and I felt went above and beyond. THE INSTALLATION TEAM WAS ALSO PLEASANT, TALENTED, KNOWLEDGEABLE, AND DEDICATED: The team that installed the kitchen was wonderful, too. We have two young children and I was a little nervous about being in the house with "strangers" and all of the work going on. But the team was super nice. The kids loved them and I was really comfortable having them in our house. Almost always the same few men, so we felt like we all got to know each other. When the project was over, my 3 year old kept asking where they had gone. And of course, the work they did was impeccable. I appreciated that when there were various options (like where to install cabinet hardware) they asked me what I wanted but also gave me a few suggestions. Meant I didn't ever have to reinvent the wheel, but I always got to have it done exactly as we wanted. You could tell they took great pride in what they were doing and wanted me to be super happy. When we noticed that the feet of our wine fridge didn't look very "pretty" next to the rest of the cabinets, they built a wooden toe kick/vent to blend the fridge into the cabinet next to it. At no charge. Talk about custom, and great service. CAMEO MADE IT EASY FOR US LOGISTICALLY: Cameo is a one stop shop, so for the most part you aren't constantly writing different checks to different people. They even have a huge and gorgeous selection of hardware. For the things they don't supply personally (tile, granite, appliances) we worked with their recommended vendors but we could have found our own elsewhere had we wanted. Working with their vendors was super easy, though, and we also felt like we got great prices. The things that were outsources included: -- the faucet: although Mike gave is a recommendation that made it easy. He basically said, given what we were describing and our taste we should look at a particular style by Grohe. We did, loved it, and were able to just order from Amazon for a great price. Couldn't have been easier. -- the tile: we went to the tile place Mike suggested, found just what we wanted and found the place very easy to work with, then the tile place worked with Mike to determine exactly how much we would need. And we love the tile. Mike had included a range in our estimate and we selected something a little more expensive, so we just paid Cameo the difference as part of our final check. This was the ONLY place we went over budget and it was 100% our choice and in our control. -- the countertops: again, Mike recommended some places to look and even went with us the first time we looked at Granite. He was great at explaining to us about the different types of granite, recommending things, and steering us away from falling in love with patterns that were WAY over our budget. He was great. Again, once we selected granite Mike did all of the coordination with the granite folks so we never had to pay a separate bill or talk with a different company. -- the appliances -- ADU, The company Cameo works with is AMAZING. We set up an appointment and met with their salesperson Chris, who seems to handle most of their Cameo accounts. Picking appliances with him was so easy. We told him our basic price range and features we were looking for, and he was able to quickly make suggestions that were spot on, with suggestions for going up or down a step in quality. They had a huge showroom with about any appliance and brand we could want, and I had done very little research before arriving. But we had everything picked out within about an hour and have been super pleased with everything. We paid ADU separately from Cameo, but ADU and Cameo coordinated delivery and installation so no additional work or logistics for us. We kept looking to see if we could find our appliances at a lower price elsewhere (on line, etc.) and never did, so we are also confident we got a great deal. -- the floors -- Mike recommended a few companies, we got estimates, and picked one (Hatcher), then Mike did the logistical coordination with them. We did have to pay the floor company separately and this was the only place where there was a little flub in the logistical coordination. I'm pretty confident the fault was with the floor company as the project manager didn't seem that engaged. But they fixed the problem and the end result -- our floors -- look awesome. So while we probably wouldn't hire the floor company on our own again, we're satisfied with the end results. WE LOVE OUR KITCHEN AND ARE SO GLAD WE WORKED WITH CAMEO. The whole process was truly easy, and actually pretty fun. And we are SO pleased with our kitchen. Its more functional and beautiful than I imagined, and the quality of all of it is just lovely. If only all home improvement projects could be this easy!

Tammy from Cameo is fantastic - so helpful and responsive. We had a great experience with Cameo and wish they did things other than kitchens so we could hire them again. Our only complaint/suggestion is that they should upgrade their lighting -- we chose the high end option for puck lights and have had trouble with them endlessly since they were installed. they should use another product. But aside from them we have the most lovely and functional kitchen we could have wanted and we adore it. And again, ask for Tammy - she is AMAZING.

Cameo did a fabulous job-- the designer I worked with was excellent, very patient and knowledgeable. He came up with great ideas and took the time to make sure he was giving us exactly what we wanted. The head contractor was extremely responsible-- punctual, professional, knowledgeable. The workers were very hard working and all-around nice people, too. It's disruptive having a kitchen remodel, but they made the experience as pleasant as possible. And, they were done completely on time! The quality of their work can't be beat. I'd use them again in a heartbeat.

It was a seamless experience from start to finish. they were in the driveway 15 minutes on the day they said they'd start. they finsihed on time, on budget, and the entire crew was exceptionally professional.

We will definitely use them again in the future.

They are extremely professional and a very good company to deal with. They promised us a time frame and they finished on time. They came on time every day and cleaned up after themselves every day. They were very prompt and attentitive to any issues that came up. Every single member of the crew was extremely polite, professional, and easy to work with. I have recommended them to many other friends already.

I was very pleased with Cameo and would highly recommend them. They were on time, cleaned up daily, did excellent work, were professional, and were very nice to deal with. I started the process with Tammy Clark. She is one of the designers and was extremely easy to deal with. She walked me thru their process and the materials and graciously put up with me changing my mind. After Cameo was finished with the work, I gave Tammy a list of small things that I thought they should fix. She accepted the entire list while many companies will argue with you item by item. Cameo took care of the whole list and did an excellent job.

It was great. I was very impressed with them. They were very service-minded. They provided several samples in the showroom and great patience during the work. Everything went flawlessly.
