I inherited an antique Persian rug, which had not been cleaned in many years and was located in Falls Church, hundreds of miles from my home. I wanted the rug, but I had no way to get it. Then I thought of Angie's List! I searched for companies that were expert in dealing with Oriental rugs and found this one. From that moment on, everything went perfectly. I called and spoke with the owner, who went out that very evening to the house where the rug was located to pick it up, then cleaned it very carefully, cut the perfect pad for it (after determining what kind of surface the rug would be on), and shipped it to me by UPS. We had a number of phone conversations, several initiated by him, about what the cost for each step would be--and the final bill was precisely the sum of those costs. When the rug arrived, I was immensely pleased with everything he had done. From my first contact, I realized I was dealing with someone who knew exactly what he was doing. He identified the type of rug for me and its age; he knew exactly how to clean it; he did everything as quickly as I could have hoped; he was totally trustworthy. The entire experience was amazing. The price for cleaning the rug was quite reasonable. In addition to cleaning it, I bought a pad for it (good pads are so much better, and somewhat pricier, than bad ones) and had both the rug and the pad wrapped and shipped, so the total amount I spent involved much more than merely cleaning.

I delivered the first rug to Art Connection. He gave me a price to dust and handwash based on the square footage (the price was comparable to that from Bergmann's on sale). He called me when it was reayd and delivered it within a week. At that time he picked up another smaller carpet that needed cleaning and some minor repairs to the binding on the edge. He called a few days later to let me know it was ready, and since it was only 4X6 I picked it up. He was courteous, informative and did a good job with both carpets.

He came and took the rugs from my house which I had just sold and returned them (as mentioned above) in my condominium. He showed up on time as promised.

What a wonderful experience. The owner picked up the rugs from our old home, cleaned them, and then stored them for us for three weeks because we were moving into a new home. When he delivered them to our new home they looked beautiful. Because our rugs are large antique Persian rugs they are uneven on one end from being hand woven instead of machine made. The owner cut each of the new rug pads to fit perfectly under each rug. He was very knowledgeable regarding materials and dyes used to produce each rug. He was very polite and pleasant each time we spoke. I highly recommend this company.

Excellent experience overall. They were very responsive on the phone, very knowledgeable about the carpets and their value when I dropped them off and did an excellent job cleaning and repairing damage spots.

The gentleman who owns and runs the firm is very easy to work with. He is the sole worker so he does not wish to have a big business he says. He knows Persian rugs and the like and offers good suggestions on how to take care of these handmade rugs. He did a great job.

Excellent. The rugs look better then when we purchased them overseas. Total professional when he picked them up, and returned them on a Sunday to accommodate our schedule (new baby). When he returned them, talked about the design, region, and history of the rugs. Would highly recommend Art Connection to anyone, had as much fun talking about the rugs when he returned them when we bought them. Removed a red wine stain from one rug, I cannot even see the location anymore!!!! Rug cleaning cost approximately $575, rest was on new pads to protect the rugs (previous pads from Ikea).

The company was excellent! Cleaning Orientals is an intensive hand process, with different rugs requiring different handling, because of different materials as well as different levels/kinds of dirt. The owner explained what he was going to do beforehand, and also afterwards. Art Connection treated each one of our rugs right. I recommend the company without reservation.

The small rug we sent off to college with our daughter came back covered in cat hair and starting to fray along the sides. Art Connection -- fortunately, just down the street from us -- provided excellent service from start to finish, charging $35 for the repair and $40 for the cleaning. Work was completed within five days, as promised, and the rug now looks better than when we bought it in India 15 years ago.

I was very impressed with the service provided and the extensive knowledge of the gentleman who performed the work. I also noticed that he was working on an extensive repair of another rug. While none of my rugs needed repairs, I noted that his restoration work was exquisite.

They charged approx $1.75 per square foot (my total was $160). They quoted 7-10 days to clean the rugs, and they were ready in 7 days. The rugs look great. The fringes are nice and white again, and the rugs have a whole new luster. The owner (Hadiat?) was very nice and easy to work with. He explained the cleaning process thoroughly, and even gave me some interesting information about my rugs (where they are from, what they're worth, etc.). Highly recommended!

Extremely happy with their service. They came to pick up the rug, helped roll it up, and were very friendly. Dropped the rug off sooner than expected and helped unroll it. It looks amazing. Hasn't been professionally cleaned in probably 10 years (way too long) and the colors look great now. It is definitely clean.
