Art Connection Oriental Rugs

One of my favorite oriental carpets suffered a coffee stain and mildew damage. The owner is clearly an expert in dealing with this sort of damage. He described the process he would recommend for my carpet, and I accepted. The carpet was finished on schedule, and the previous damage was impossible to see. I was quite happy with the work.

His services were recommended by my daughter-in-law who had a rug very similar to ours and had liked his service. We took our rug to his shop in Falls Church. He was very knowledgable about rugs from the Near East and cleaned and mended our rug perfectly.

It was positive. The work was quality and the rugs were done in a timely manner.

They did a good job. It took a little longer than I expected by the result was fine. I had to end up calling after a month because they never got back to me.

I hada great experience with Art Connection. When I arrived at the location, the representative was available and helpful. He was incredibly knowledgeable about my rug and gave me confidence that he knew what should be done to clean it in the best possible manner. When I received the cleaned rug, it looked amazing. The price was also very reasonable.

I dropped the rug off. Owner was there and gave me a price. Told me it he would have to find the right color for the binding. Helped me decide how to bind the rug (by hand or machine) based on trade-off between price and quality. I opted for the machine binding. The binding turned out to be a little lighter than a perfect match, but it did match another color in the rug. The dying of the spots made them unnoticeable. I was very happy with the work.

I've used this company a number of times to clean my persian rugs- I'm pretty sure I alreadt did a review, but I'm being asked to do one again. They always do an excellent job promptly, and at a fair price.

See above. Pickup quickly, fair price quote, fully successful and thorough cleaning even on stains/smells. Super nice guy. It's a little tricky coordinating the drop-offs sometimes, but I think that's as much my fault....

Fantastic experience from start to finish. Our rugs had been sitting in a basement for 20 years and had been on the floors of an old house for many decades prior to that, so they needed a lot of TLC. Hand-washing was important to us. Art Connection did a great job. Would recommend them to everyone.

I had a favorite carpet that suffered some water damage, and I was worried about saving it. Based on Angie's List reviews, I chose to give Art Connection a try. They did an outstanding job of restoring the carpet. It is almost impossible to spot the damage.

I took three 'oriental' rugs that have been in my family for decades; all were in need of cleaning and some type of repair. When I called he said he would have to see the rugs and would tell me if they were able to be repaired and if they were worth the cost. He did both and said they were worth it. One rug had a few small tears in it and two others had fringe issues and one was beginning to fray. Two of the three rugs had spots as well. He detailed what each rug needed and how he would fix it as well as the degree of spot removal I could expect; he also told me some facts about each rug such as origin, style, and material. I picked up the rugs and they look wonderful, one rug is even better than expected due to the length of time the coffee spot was there - you can barely see it! You can barely notice where the tears were. I plan on taking some other rugs for cleaning in the near future. The only reason I reported a 'B' rather than an 'A' is I had also ordered padding for each rug and he had forgotten to cut it so I have to return to pick it up.

Very up-front about what he could and couldn't do and what was worth doing. Provided estimate and stuck to it. Rugs were ready when he said they would be. Very high quality work. Exceeded my expectations - can't even tell where the pet damage had been. Though a little pricey, you get what you pay for. I would bring any oriental carpet repair/cleaning jobs here. Also has some nice rugs in showroom.

The cleaning was perfect. They came to pick it up from the house, cleaned it very carefully, and did everything over the phone with me. He did not bill me until I received it. He shipped it through UPS. He was very trustworthy too.

He was very knowledgable about the history of the rug, telling who made it and where. He didn't promise to be able to get all of the stain out, but did say that he could mend the raveling. The whole rug is very clean without any running of colors and the stain can't be seen, though he said he only got most of it out. He also rewove by hand the backing of the rug and the restitched rim of the rug. He charged what we considered to be a very small amount for the repair. At first, he said it would be 10 days before the rug would be ready. But when we said we needed the rug by the tenth day for a party at our house, he then said he would have it ready 2 days earlier and he did. We considered the entire experience to be a complete success and enjoyed talking with him (I can't remember how to spell his name) about our rug and about other rugs that he has for sale in his store.

Their workmanship stood out. The job went very well overall. He is not inexpensive, but he is not terribly expensive either.

There were some that had pet stains and he got the stains out of my silk carpet. I thought it was amazing. He offered to appraise them for us and he told us a lot about the carpets we had. We already knew a lot but we learned more. He told us a little bit about their background, their quality and approximately how old they were. He was very friendly and helpful.

He was very punctual in arriving at my house. He really knows a lot about oriental rugs and was able to identify the kind of rugs I had immediately. He examined them carefully and explained in detail what he was going to do and the concerns he had. He told me exactly the price he was going to charge me. Again when he delivered the rugs, he was punctual and I was very satisfied with his service.

This company is great to work with. They responded within 24 hours of my e-mail to them and asked many questions about the kinds of rugs I have. I have antique Persian carpets, and Art Connection knows these carpets! They took great care with the rugs. They came to the apartment on the appointed day and time, and rolled up each carpet. They explained the cleaning process, the different kinds of pads I could use for the rugs and suggested a pad that would be good for my wood floors. (They also said that the wood-type thicker pad would help cut down on the squeaky wood floors--the floors in my apartment are from 1929. And the pads do help quiet down the noisy floorboards. No other company I've dealt with over the years has given me that kind of advice.) They returned the rugs on time, and laid each pad and rug down--in some cases they had to move quite heavy pieces of furniture. I am very happy with their work.

They did a very good job! We have since hired them and they did a great job again! Price reflects two large rugs cleaned.

The estimate was accurate, and the work was performed within the agreed upon time. The owner was very knowledgeable about different makes and types of oriental carpets, and was very service oriented. I had to drop the carpets at the shop because they soak the carpets in large shallow vats to get the dirt out, then let them dry. I would recommend them, and would use them again, except that they have gone out of business, I think in early 2009? (not sure of the exact date).

Service performed as promised, on time. Very happy.

Twice, we have taken rugs to Falls Church where they were examined carefully. We discussed what kinds of stains there might be, visible and invisible (pet urine). Afterwards, they were hand-washed and dried. We weren't too concerned about how long it took, but the rugs were gone 3 weeks or so each time. We've been very pleased and, in fact, I'm heading over today to take another rug!

He was very honest. Next time I need something for my carpets I will use Art Connection.

They are great. The owner is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He is helpful in picking up the rugs and the price is very good.
