The work done was excellent. I had called initially to see if the lock could be repaired. The door is 20 years old and I was concerned that I would not be able to locate a new lockset. Charles came out, immediately diagnosed the problem, and told me that we needed a new lockset. He located an appropriate set and came back to install it. The door is as good as new. I would definitely call Arlington Lock, Inc. for any future needs.

I spoke with Charles on the telephone and he promptly made arrangements to supply an estimate even though it was a Saturday and the office was closing. He walked me through the options and covered the pros and cons of the two types of deadbolt that could be used. Charles arrived promptly and installed both deadbolts and one of the handsets without difficulty. The second handset was not working properly and since it was a special order, he had to take it back to the shop. He returned the following Monday and completed the installation. All of the hardware works perfectly. Charles is professional, polite and unfailingly helpful. While the work was not inexpensive, I am very pleased with the quality and timeliness of the service.

Arlington Lock was able to get us an appointment right away. They are a family business which put me at ease. They were very friendly & helpful when I called to compare prices. Their service fee was the same as another place I called, but their other fees were much better, I saved at least $100 on labor fees using Arlington Lock. They let me know a promotion code to join Angie's List so we could get a discount on membership & a coupon for their services, which saved us an additional $30 off our bill as well as 40% off the Angie's List fee. I had to call back with more questions and that person was just as friendly & helpful as the first person. The locksmith who came out was also professional, courteous, and nice. He listened and clearly understood everything I wanted. Arlington Lock had all the tools, supplies, and equipment they needed to complete the work. They put down a protective tarp to keep my floors from any damage and cleaned up when they were done.The job was done perfectly, and he even went above & beyond what was requested by adjusting a door that was very hard to close. This adjustment was very thoughtful and will make a huge difference to us; when we use that porch door, we will no longer have to slam it shut with full force to make it lock, we can just close it normally. We are very happy & would use Arlington Lock again and recommend them to everyone!

This company is a father and son enterprise. They are very professional and nice. I now consider them MY lock company.

We needed to change the keys and add new deadbolt locks to our recently purchased home. The locksmith arrived punctually on date and time scheduled to assess the work needed. He was able to give us a ball-park estimate of work and costs involved on the spot. There was a lock on which he had to do more research once back in the office. He called back the same day with an answer/solution on that issue. New lock installation and re-keying was done one week later as promised. Cost was as estimated and even a bit lower due to one part not having to be replaced. Overall a great experience and we would call this company again if need be.

The ONLY reason for the "B" rating here is because I think that they forgot to give me my 10% Angie's List discount, though I mentioned it when making the appointment and was told I would receive it. (I forgot to re-mention it during the appointment, so that was partially my fault. EDIT: Updated to an A because I did, indeed, get a refund check in the mail for my 10% discount! Wow! Got a phone call about 20 minutes prior to arrival. Workers arrived promptly and were polite and professional. They performed the work efficiently and with good quality.

The locksmith provided an estimate on the phone and the serviceman on site arrived onetime and did a great job. He even made additional keys for us. I would use them again.

I had a great experience with this company. I called them on a Saturday morning and didn't expect them to have any appointments available until the following week. To my surprise, they said they could come over in a few hours, so I had them change all our locks. They arrived on time and were very professional. They also give a discount to Angie's list members!

I called Arlington lock and was able to get an early (next day) appointment to fix my front door dead bolt lock which was not seeding in the striker plate. Charles appeared on time and went straight to his work. The repair was successful and the dead bolt is fully functional now. He was pleasant and efficient.

This was a very fast and smooth process. It only took about an hour and a half and all of the work was done well. All of the materials were cleaned up and I am extremely happy with the result.

I've sent Charles pictures and specifications before the day of his visit. On the day of the service he showed up on time and completed the job in about an hour. There's really not much to add other than it all went very smoothly. He charged me as much as he quoted over the phone. One note about the rates. I'm not that well familiar with locksmith services pricing, but it seemed to be on the higher side. The amount quoted for the job was in line with other bids I've got, but those bids assumed 2 hrs of work (+travel fee). The actual job took only an hour. I doubt Arlington Lock is twice more efficient than others, so it seems that their rates are higher. In any case, everything went smoothly and that's what matters int he end.

Charles arrived on time, introduced himself and asked what I would like him to do. He repaired the deadbolt and asked me if I wanted all three doors keyed to the same key. He promptly reeked the other 2 doors to the same key as the deadbolt. He leaned up all shavings from repair at the front door repair. Charles made suggestions to lubricate the locks with WD-40. He said that the lock maker of the deadbolt no longer makes this model I have as there have been problems with it. I paid $110 for labor and $85 for the service call less 10%. I do think the service charge was a bit high.

Showed up on time, really great service, very conscious of our budget and tried to save us money wherever possible.

We have just moved into a new house that had previously been a rental property, so we wanted to get every lock re-keyed. Then, I lost my housekeys and so I called Arlington Lock after hours. After confirming that I was able to get into and out of my house (my spouse was home) we arranged for him to come over the next day (Saturday) at noon. Arlington Lock showed up exactly on time, performed the work exactly as we requested, including converting a two-sided deadbolt to a single-sided one and making four spare keys. He informed us of a recall on one of the existing locks and suggested replacing the entire mechanism, rather than just re-keying. We agreed and he returned two days later (during regular business hours on Monday) to complete the job. He was patient with my four-year-old son who was fascinated by his truck and his tools and he worked quietly, respecting my infant's naptime. We couldn't have been happier.

Charles arrived on time. He was quick and efficient as he rekeyed six locks in our home. We asked for more copies of the keys. The copies work perfectly and the cost was very reasonable. If we need a locksmith, Arlington Lock will get our business again.

I called and discussed the proposed work above with Robert, with the goal being to get all entrance doors with locks on a single key. He recommended that we remove the Schlagel on our front entrance door and replace it with a Kwikset to match the entrance door to our garage. He warned me that the decorative plate on the front door lock may need to be removed. We discussed the cost of them providing the lock (he said about $35, which seemed very reasonable). I confirmed that I'd like to schedule the work, and he was able to schedule it within a week on a Friday when I work from home. Very convenient and flexible. Charles arrived that morning. He removed the front door lock and decorative plate, and we confirmed together that he would proceed with replacing the lock, since the damage to the door under the old lock was minimal. He also drilled around the lock to make sure it opened and closed smoothly. He then rekeyed the lock on the door leading out to the garage, and significantly improved their smoothness. He also provided 4 additional copies of the key, so we had 6 total. The entire experience was affordable and quick. Charles did a great job, and was very friendly and professional. I highly recommend using them, and plan to add their info to my car and cell phone in case I need to use them for an emergency.
