Charles did an excellent job replacing & rekeying all the exterior locks in our new home. He helped me select hardware in store and also did all installation work. He was prompt, friendly and explained everything he was doing. He also worked with some of his suppliers to track down a hard-to-find replacement latch/lock mechanism for an older patio door. During installation Charles made one minor mistake -- his drill slipped and gauged the door's wood trim -- but he notified me of the problem immediately and had a handyman (Jay) come by to repair the damage. The price seemed to be based on the tasks done, not a per-hour fee, and was was very reasonable -- well below another well-rated firm I contacted, even before the Angie's List discount. I'd definitely call Arlington Lock next time we're in need of a locksmith.

Arlington Lock Inc. was a great find. They answered the phone, asked questions to understand exactly what service was needed, and provided a date and time that they could provide service based on my schedule. The service appointment was for 10:00 AM and they arrived at 10:05! The serviceman was friendly and completed the work quickly. They honored the angie's list discount and the total price matched the estimate that was provided on the phone. I would definitely use them again.

I called early Sunday morning for an emergency rekeying of all of my exterior doors. I was glad that I was able to talk a real person instead of leaving a voicemail message. They were able to schedule an appointment within a couple of hours. I was impressed that they gave me a 1 hour window! So Charles, the locksmith, arrived right on time. Charles was both pleasant and professional. I liked that we were able to talk through the options. He was definately very knowledgable and he made some very good points in our discussion. Once we agreed on the plan he went to work immediately. He was able to answer all of my questions while he worked. They honored the Angie's List Discount and the price was very reasonable considering the emergency call. It was a delightful experience and I look forward to using them again in the future.

Arlington Lock is our best find on Angie's List yet. Charles arrived on-time, did the work we requested on five exterior doors, and finished his work more quickly than I'd hoped for. The prior owner(s) had installed certain locks on the cheap, and Charles took the time to bring everything up to current industry standards. The replaced locks work beautifully, and each of the keys he cut feels like the "master" key. When Charles finished the work we had initially asked Arlington Lock to complete, I asked if he could look at a closet door on which the handle mechanism had failed, resulting in a door that would not open (but wasn't technically locked). What he thought would be a simple fix was anything but simple, but Charles persisted until he was able to remove the mechanism and free the door.

I was happy with the service that I received from Arlington Lock, Inc. The locksmith, Charles, arrived early for the scheduled appointment. After evaluating my situation, he recommended that I replace the deadbolt on the front door. I also wanted to have all of the locks re-keyed for convenience. Since I had the original keys to the back door, Charles recommended that it would be best to re-key all of the locks based on the back door lock. He was very knowledgeable, professional and polite. I agreed with his recommendations and gave him the "go ahead" to do the work. He finished the job quickly. I tested all of the locks and everything is in good working order. After my Angie's List discount was applied, I paid $218.30 for the services that I had done. I would recommend Arlington Lock, Inc. and I would use them in the future.

Called and told them what we needed (had just moved to a house with multiple outside entryway doors) that had different keys/locks, etc. Came out right on time and was able to match all our locks/hardware and get us down to "one" key. Was fast, efficient and really really nice. Told them I was an Angie List member and got 10% off. Would use/recommend again in a heartbeat! Also liked that it was a family business.

The provider was quick and professional, listening and responding to my preferences regarding which keys should match and providing multiple copies as requested. One lock was not able to be re-keyed as it was broken, so he showed me and explained exactly what was wrong and what would need to be fixed if I wanted that door to be unlocked from the outside. We decided to leave it as is since I really don't need that door to open from the outside anyway. They were also gracious with an Angie's List discount -- an extra perk!

Arlington Lock scheduled a next-day service and was out on time. The service technician was on time, pleasant and quickly had all the locks re-keyed to match. He also made me several additional keys. Definitely recommend and I'll use them again myself!

I called ,described the task, was given the cost and was told the work could be performed that day. The workman showed up and did a great job cut the new keys which worked perfectly. I would strongly recommend this locksmith.

Excellent. He showed up, asked what needed to be done and what my goals were, asked what keys I had for the units in place (I didn't have keys for everything), and went to work removing the cylinders from the locks. He then took them to his truck, and rekeyed the cylinders - performing a basic service check of them in the process (pretty much have to do that to get the old pins out) - and re-installed - checking to see that the locks worked correctly with their rekeyed state. He then went to take care of the final door, which had cheap locks on them. He mentioned that they weren't good to be rekeyed, and I agreed to replace the locksets - which he did with new Quickset locks - the ones that don't need to be disassembled to be rekeyed. He cut 4 extra keys (to go with the two keys he keyed the locks to) Whole thing took about 1.5 to 2 hours Only issue is that 2 of the keys are tight in the locks - need to get them to check that out.

Do ask how long the job will probably take so you are available. I found them to be accurate and right on time! Do ask for alternatives and pricing. They were extremely helpful and disclosed completely and correctly. No surprise at the end of the job. Do check keys, etc before they leave. There was no problem, but it just makes sense to let them fix something while they're there if needed. Don't worry that they will be intrusive. Most of this job (rekeying 8 locks) was done in their van.

They were friendly, helpful and were able to come out on the same day. The person who come out to do the job called me 30 minutes ahead of time so that I would not have to wait around. The whole thing went smoothly.

Arrived on schedule,examined the locks and quoted a price for the work which was very reasonable. Replaced old style key deadbolts with turn handle deadbolts, rekeyed the front and back doors so one key opens all of the doors and replaced the inner workings on a shed door lock which had rusted shut. We have just moved into a newly renovated home which only had one key for the front door so security of the house was our concern. Who knows how many times the one key for the house had been copied by the previous homeowner and the back door had no key at all. Charles was very professional and made a spare key for my husband to use after he rekeyed the doors and replaced the locks. They are coming back to rekey our storm doors so they will be on the same key as the front and back doors. Great service, extremely professional and we will do business with this company in the future. It is great to have one key to open and close every door in the house!.

We called on a Sunday afternoon, and the owner's son came by later that afternoon to do the job, even though it wasn't an emergency. It took just a few minutes, and he was very pleasant and professional.

They were a little expensive. They did a good job and showed up time.

My first complaint was on the day of installation. I called the installer back to tell him I was having too much difficulty turning the newly installed top bolt. He said he did the best he could and that the door insulation was preventing an easier turn. The problem I had was focused on overall company policy reflected by the phone person/scheduler. On August 3 my bottom re-keyed lock mechanism failed and I could not even fit the key in the lock upon returning home. Not having the receipt, I called a similar named company from a neighbor's phone. This was an emergency number but NOT the same company. The receipt said Allied Locksmiths although the phone book said Arlington Lock 24 hour. In that emergency situation I was just glad they responded and had someone to me in 20 minutes. The responder said the failed mechanism for the reset key lock was a common problem. He installed a "traditional" lock to fit the same key. When I told him about the difficult top bolt he corrected that by drilling an improved hole. The bop bolt lock was now improved a100 percent. I called Arlington Lock, 6201 Leesburg Pike, Suite 1, 703-534-4400 the next day not expecting a reimbursement since I had used another locksmith in my emergency. The male voice usually answering calls told me that since they had "re-keyed" the failed lock and did not install the original, that it was nother responsibility that the lock had failed. Sensing already the lack of responsibility, I moved on tto the top bolt lock installed by them but corrected by the emergency responder. The Arlington Lock man said I should have called to complain about the problem and I said I did. He moved on to blame me by not having talked to the owner, Mr. Barton about my problemwhen I called to complain ( rather than his lowly unqaulified paid workman?) Frankly, I am not timid about asking for the man at the top, but these days you have to pick your battles -- just too many of them and I gave this employee the benefit of the doubt. The Arlington Lock man took my name and phone number and said he would inform Mr. Barton of my experience. Suspecting my information was going into his very important round file I called back infumed that his company was taking no responsibility, and that I wanted to tell Mr. Barton that. He became more beligerent and said he was no longer talking to me and that I COULD NOT SPEAK TO MR. BARTON!! You never know the true professionalism of a company until you need follow up assistance.

I was able to get a next day appt. Charles was running a little late for the appt, but called to let me know which was fine. Excellent work all around. I highly recommend them.

Called Arlington Lock on 7/6 and was able to get a same-day appointment to fix the lock on an exterior door. Charles was our tech. Diagnosed problem quickly and was able to put a new part inside existing lock hardware. Family-run business which I like - when the son's owner is providing service you know they have a vested interest in customer satisfaction and the company's success - it shows. Will definitely use again for any locksmith services.

I called Arlington lock on a Friday morning and got an appointment for a Saturday morning. Charles was early for this appointment and immediately got to work. He removed the key from the first lock and replaced the second lock quickly. In working on my back door he gave me great suggestions as I consider upgrades for my door and lock and how to improve overall security of my door lock. He improved the performance of the existing lock by shaving parts of it down so that it was not rubbing. In a short period of time, I could finally get in and out of all three doors of my old house with ease thanks to Charles at Arlington lock. I would definitely call them and recommend them to others - its worth the peace of mind.

In order to allow me to meet him at my home, rather then wait for his arrival, the technician called me in advance of his estimated arrival time. A polite young man by the name of Chance changed my locks quickly and professionally.

I had a great experience with this service provider. The locksmith showed up on time and went about his work. The entire thing took 45 minutes and I was satisfied with the job done.

He was great. I made the appointment as we were moving into a new townhome. He replaced the locks and oiled the levers. Everything was done quickly and professionally. Thank you and will be asking them soon for some work on my patio door lock
