+ 0 moreThe owner of this company is a crook. Carol C. Whitehurst-Gaspar (owner) and Erica Gaballa are sisters and run this business together. Please do not make the same mistake as we did. She stole our money and left us with an unfinished house. We hired Angle3 Design/Build Construction LLC in April 2015 to complete an estimated 3 month renovation for us. Although this renovation was being funded mostly through a bank loan that required payment after the work was completed, we were pressured into paying them in advance as they were delaying working and telling us they did not have the funds available in order to complete the work ahead of our payments. When receiving our first draw check from the bank, Angle3 was supposed to deposit the amount but then pay it directly to us. However, this money was never reimbursed to us. Angle3 signed a confessed judgement and were supposed to pay us back the money that was misappropriated over a two year plan and also complete the renovation on our home. We found out afterwards that they never had appropriate insurance for our job. The policy that they submitted to us did not cover townhouses. When hiring a private investigator, we found out that Carol Whitehurst-Gaspar, owner of Angle3, has had 4 other companies in which she was sued and then filed for bankruptcy, and started up a new company. This lady is a con-artist. Run far far away!

Description of Work: My experience with this person was simply a series of emails which kept getting more and more bizarre. I joined Angie's List to do more research to confirm or deny my suspicions about them based on these emails. Part of what made me uneasy, was their fee structure was broken down in such a way that there was a 20% downpayment, but when you read when the other payments were due, there was actually 90% paid before the first hammer would be swung. I eventually found a review that basically said they were not to be trusted. I emailed Angle3 and linked to that review, told them I was uneasy with the timelyness of their communication, their fee schedule, and this review, but I'd give them the chance to respond if they felt it was unfair. I never heard back from them. | |The job I wanted done was a lot of work, but I had a company-mandated budget of $10,000 to work with. I was not completely sure the job could be done for this amount, but this Angle3 said it was possible. When I found other contractors, the prices for my job were all around $18,000, and those estimates felt accurate and true, leading me to believe that Angle3 didn't a**** the job correctly, or they had plans to adjust the fees mid-way through the job. This last part is just my speculation.
