Description of Work: I puchased 7 windows from Ameritech Construction. According to Ameritech, they are of exceptional quality. They were installed quickly & professionally (mostly from the outside of the house with very little mess to the inside of my home). I really like my new windows!! However, I feel that they were a bit overpriced at over $1200 per window. They should pay for themselves one day but not as soon as I had originally anticipated.

Description of Work: Ameritech replaced all the windows in my town home in 2005, that year wasn't available on this form.. The job was done well, professionally and to my satisfaction. Any follow up requests (needed a few tweeks on the slider) were taken care of immediately. | |I have re-hired Ameritech to replace the casement windows (2) in my basement, replace my entryway including front door and storm door (owner provided) and install eShield insulation in my attic. This work should begin in about a month, 2/2/15). Approximate cost: $8000. I will review this job when it's completed.

Description of Work: We had all five exterior doors replaced by Ameritech Construction. They offered us a low pressure sales experience and were always responsive and in close communication with us. The installers did a great job and while we did need them to come back to make some tweaks they did so quickly and took care of our concerns the first time back. Great experience all around. Price is a little on the higher end, but it comes through in the quality of the door and how the installation is performed. We are super happy with the new doors and when the time comes we will definitely be checking them out for windows.

Description of Work: The door was to be installed and they called and said that they had a low tire. They were at a 7-11 just a mile away, so I went and bought the sealant for their tire and they still didn't come. After a while they called and said that it wasn't holding and that the tire was too low to make it to my house, so they would reschedule. There was evidently no support from their home base......they went back and then another crew had to come a couple of days later. Frankly I could not grasp why it was safer for them to drive back to their place of business that it would have been to drive just over a mile to my house and get the work done as promised! The door was installed later and it is fine, but the complete lack of professionalism and lack of consideration for my schedule made me quite sorry I had chosen them, especially since this was a major investment.

Description of Work: Ameritech installed raindrop wrap, insulation, and vinyl siding on our house in addition to new gutters gutter guards. Our experience began by searching Angie's list reviews and considering multiple companies before selecting Ameritech. The salesman, Timmy Gayle, was extremely professional in his demonstration, taking time to answer all our questions, showing us their product and explaining the advantages/disadvantages of all types of siding along with the problems of weathering, damage and fading. Ameritech siding solves most of these problems. We decided to go with Ameritech siding even though the cost was high. We were told the order would take 8 weeks for the materials to arrive. They actually arrived in 6 weeks. The salesman said installation would take 4 days. Only 2 installers showed up and installation actually took 10 days (one rain day where they could not work). The installers, Sammy Hernandez and his helper, Ephrain, were extremely friendly, professional, prompt, punctual and did awesome job. May neighbors have stopped and commented on how nice the house looks since the work has been completed. My wife and I are very pleased with our new siding and gutters. Our house has now become the best looking house on the block Thanks again Ameritech. Kudos to all mentioned and also to Kim and Mark.

Description of Work: Ameritech Construction installed all new windows and a sliding glass door in my town house in approximately 2002.Since, I was satisfied with their service, I also had them replace my entry and storm door approximately two years ago. In 2002,I noticed that the basement's temperature did seem to improve once the sliding glass door was replaced but have not noticed much of a difference in the temperature of the rest of the house with the new windows. I paid approximately 5,000 dollars for the Oxford Door and Storm Door but I have had several problems with the door. In fact, on several occasions, the front door has just popped open by itself and there are significant drafts that emanate from the door. The door is gorgeous and is of a very high quality. However, I feel that I should not be having any problems with that door at all. I am also disappointed that I only have limited transferrable warranties with both the door and the windows. However, I did not focus on that aspect at the time. I feel that I have received better service in the past. The company is not as great as it once was with following up on parts and visits. Waiting four weeks for a part for one of my windows appears to be extreme to me. I also feel that there should not be any drafts at all but I understand that houses do settle. I did receive excellent service from Suzzy, the receptionist. |One of the most recent incidents that occurred with this company was when I received a call about an estimate that I had requested. When I informed the caller that I was not able to fund the job, at this time, the caller practically hung up on me before I finished my sentence. | I have also reviewed two letters in the mail informing me that my windows were no longer under warranty. However, when I called about that, I was informed that this was not the case. I just feel that their service has declined and am a bit disappointed. |

Description of Work: Had Ameritech give an estimate and install 12 windows. Gene came to our house and gave us an estimate that was in line with other companies but after the presentation, the product (windows and warranty) was far superior. The windows were custom measured and took about 2-3 months to come in (per the estimate). The installation crew took two days to install and were very professional. The took their time taking out the current windows as well as putting the new ones in. They look great, and so much so we had them come back out again and do more windows. Very professional staff and very good looking product.

Description of Work: This is the second set of windows that we have had done by Ameritech. I originally saw their window construction display at the Woodworkers show and was so impressed i contacted them. We had a large picture window done in the master bath over the tub to replace double-hungs plus 2 other windows. Then, in Oct, we had 3 more done in our kitchen breakfast nook. The quality is first rate. We get full eastern sun in the morning through these, and we compared the inside temp on the glass in mid morning using an infrared gun and the Ameritech windows were almost 30 degrees cooler on the surface than the old double-pane MW windows we had, and we had even tinted them! Installation was first rate, and Chris the installer did a superb job making an aluminum brick mold trim to go on the outside. We are in the process of doing the next six. We had a little bit of inside consendation on the corners and along the bottom of the bath picture window, and they are going to make a new one and replace it with no questions. While the price is high compared to some of the competition, I've looked at many of the competitors' cut-away samples at the Home and Garden Show, and still believe these are the best windows on the market.

Description of Work: We had a new entry door installed. The builder grade that we had was 24 years old and was leaking cold air in the winter. When the sales associate came out, he showed us how the materials at the top of the door had warped over time. We had had a patio slider door installed by this company previously and were very pleased with the quality of that door. This entry door is also of very good quality. The only drawback is that you spend at least 2 hours listening to the salesman extol the virtues of this company's doors. That may not be a bad thing since one really needs to compare different companies and their products. When the installers came on the appointed day they were prompt, professional and cleaned up thoroughly.

Description of Work: Ameritech's Kevin Kraske was our very knowledgeable sales rep/project manager. He provided a detailed synopsis of the products available (in this case doors) and was extremely courteous. My reason for choosing Ameritech is that I also had them install 11 replacement windows (including one large bay window) three years ago. While service is rarely necessary, I did have occasion to have one of the windows looked at for a sticking problem. It was scheduled and the tech had the problem fixed in half an hour. I've not yet had the doors installed (2 entry and 2 patio sliders) but have every confidence that Ameritech will provide the same excellent quality and installation as they did installing the windows.

Description of Work: I contacted the company to get a quote for siding my house, the cost of which I estimate to be at least $20,000 if not more. I received a call from their sales rep, Richard Zulzer, who rattled off Ameritech's credentials and affiliations in a robotic tone. When I told Mr. Zulzer that I would like to schedule a time to meet with him without my husband who has no patience for sitting through their song and dance about why their siding is better than anyone else's, he basically shut the door on me and said thanks but no thanks. I was and still am stunned that someone in this economic climate would walk away from over $20K worth of business because they were asked to meet with only the woman of the house. It's absurd and an outrageous business practice. Even if my husband agreed to meet with Ameritech and I could not or would not, Mr. Zulzer said the same practice would apply. I have to wonder.
