Lazaro was punctual, a hard worker and responsive. I thought it was a little pricey, considering I used a coupon. My issue was communication. Being hard of hearing, it was challenging to work with him because of his broken English. This resulted to an odd discussion on leftover bricks because he took them instead of leaving them behind. I was expected to pay $150 for roughly 100 bricks. However, due to the abnormal brick size I needed, I apparently paid $150 for roughly 40 bricks. He ended up getting very defensive and I wanted nothing more than to end the transaction. I let him keep the leftover bricks and I would not use him again.

The work performed was excellent. The owner arrived on time and made my brick and mortar look new again. Thank you. I would highly recommend his company.

Lazaro was extremely good about the design advice given we had a grade in our yard and he was timely and punctual at every step. No better sub in my opinion. We will use Lazaro again-he is fair and great at stone work.

The contractor contacted me promptly after my purchase of a "deal", showed up when advertised and gave me a fair quote. However, I decided I wasn't ready to do all of the work required. He was understanding about that decision, and I would contact them again.

I had to negotiate the final price down considerably, but the work appears to be very good. There is some discoloration on the surfaces for which the cause is uncertain.

This project exceeded our expectations.

I paid $349 for 8 hours of masonry repair. I thought that would be enough time to repair three flagstones. I was told it would be a two day job and require an additional $500. I declined the offer and received a refund from AL for the $349.

Overall, very nice job and finished look. Removal of old grout raised significant amounts of dust that got into just about everything near by. Perhaps use of a water slurry or some form of better dust control during grout removal would cut down on the amount of dust/clean-up.

Lazaro Bernal, owner of Horizon Landscaping Design, is extremely professional. He returned my calls promptly, showed up at my house as scheduled to provide an estimate, and accompanied his crew the day of the actual work to explain the project to them. Mr. Bernal and I had a detailed discussion about the color of mortar I wanted and I was quite satisfied with how well the finished mortar color coordinated with the slate. After his men had finished the job, Mr. Bernal came by my house again to check both the finished sidewalk and the weeding/mulching work. When I asked if one small area of the sidewalk could be made a bit more level, Mr. Bernal had his crew fix it immediately. I also asked if a bit more weeding could be done & more mulch put down and Horizon took care of that as well. (My flower beds really were quite overgrown.) I am very pleased that I hired Horizon Landscaping Design. My sidewalk is now beautiful again. One of my neighbors walked over to my house the day after the job was completed to compliment the work Horizon had done on my sidewalk. I was equally pleased with the cost of the project. I had paid more than twice as much to another masonry firm to do the same job a number of years ago.

Worker arrived early and was diligent with the repair - however, the quality of the pointing was not as we would have hoped.

The quality of the work looks fine. The Angie's list price did not include materials which added another $1000 to the listed price that only covered services. The contractor also recommended additional work (power washing of brick & concrete). The power wash added more cost to the job.

Lazaro came to our house to look at our yard and provide an estimate shortly after we contacted him. He was very detail-oriented and spent a lot of time with us discussing our options. We were very impressed by the photos of his work. Lazaro was very communicative by phone and email after his visit and is clearly very dedicated to his craft.

Work was done exactly as agreed to and consistent with Angie's list deal description. Would use vendor again.

Very pleased with his work, he redid my entire brick stairway and a few other other things and did an excellent job. I recommend him highly.

We are very pleased with the work done. We worked with Lazaro Bernal. He was very responsive throughout the process. The crew was excellent. We were impressed with the craftsmanship of the work performed. They provided solutions to problems. They completed the job on time as promised. It was a messy job but their detail to cleanup was excellent. We are working with Lazaro to landscape the area now that the job complete.

They did fine. I wouldn't rave about the result but they did a decent job.

The men where tidy and polite. It is a nice repair.

All went well with the project except our sprinkler plumbing was damaged during the demolition and digging. The sprinkler lines were properly repaired. We are very happy and satisfied with our new walkway.
