Winston's Chimney Service

Fine. As far as I could tell from ground level, the leaves are now out of the gutters.

So far so good, we'll see after winter comes.

They were pretty good. I used them, and they were going to give a discount through Angie's List. At that time, I couldn't get them scheduled in. I put it off and they came out with another promotion for another 10%. I would use them again because the warranted the work. Their pricing was a little better. I find the pricing overall expensive for the work that they do. They were utilized by a friend of mine that recommended them.

I was so pleased with the service that my son used Winston's for his chimney.

Initially, great service and nice contactor, but never followed up on quotes for further work requested.

Work was done as recommended by company. I have not yet lit a fire and am not an expert so don't really know if work was necessary. Work was expensive.

Workers were considerate, efficient and most importantly knowledgeable in fixing the problem.

There were very inflexible with their schedule, they were very rigid and not helpful in looking at other scheduling options. They paid no attention that I was a repeat customer. They quoted me an outrageous price (double what I had done just two years ago). They refused to apply any discounts for a repeat customer or Angies list. Finally they accepted to do only one discount after me pushing. Needless to say, I was left with a bitter taste in my mouth and a desire to give the business to someone else who actually appreciates their customers. Never again and I will never recommend Winston to anyone. I will make sure my friends and neighbors are aware and to see service elsewhere. That is not how you treat your customers.

They came on time and did the job as requested.

The services provided by Winston’s Chimney Service were very professional in every way! They replaced a crumbled chimney crown with a cast-in-place crown and also replaced the rusted chimney caps with stainless steel caps. Excellent. Winston's came out twice for estimates, a year apart, and both visits were professional and punctual. Technician took photos and explained the issues; when we explained that we could not do all repairs, he honestly gave us a priority in which order of what constituted "repair" and what constituted "live without", with the lower cost repair being the higher priority, which gave him a lot of credibility. The lower cost option required some assitance from our HVAC folks, who came out and commented on how professional the chimney guys were, and that they had found a low-cost workaround for a problem with the chimney that would not damage the furnace.

I was not pleased with them. They put the pipe in wrong and it leaked soot. So, they had to do it over again. I had to mop up two floors.

Great job, good products installed. Really cut down on the drafts from the chimneys, making the rooms much more comfortable. Wish I had done it years ago. Winston's had been recommended to me by several friends who have used them for years. I was not disappointed. I was given a discount for having both chimneys done at the same time. making the price even more attractive.

Work was done thoroughly and on time. Communication throughout the project was great.

Lenny from Winston's called about 15 minutes before he arrived to let me know he was on my way. He was friendly, knowledgable, honest and worked quickly and efficiently. I can't say enough about my experience with Winston's and Lenny - A+

Not well. This is an addendum to my earlier review, because I forgot to say that when I received a second opinion on the repair, I was also shown the creosote in the chimney that should not have been there after the cleaning. Also, I believe they were the company that installed the damper that has to be replaced. I feel that the money that I paid to have the chimney cleaned was a waste because I have to have it redone.

I thought the chimney cleaning went well. I was quoted a repair cost of $3,700.00 to reline my chimney with a thermal heat shield. I received a free inspection for another company for 1,900 to install anew damper, seal a box and repair a small area of mortar. They showed me the areas that required repair. Winston's did not identify any of the areas they pointed out and appeared to simply tried to unnecessarily sell me a liner.

All day job on very cold day. Asked to come back following day for minor adjustments, and they did so without hesitation. Both fireplaces working fine (and safely).

They gave us an estimate of $249 to do a full visual inspection of the chimney inside and out using a video camera and to clean the chimney. They were unable to inspect the outside because they felt they needed to install scaffolding on the roof to get close enough to the chimney to inspect it. The previous cleaning company did not require this. They were unable to inspect the inside because they said their video camera was too large to go up the chimney. We questioned whether the price would be adjusted because they could not do the inspection. We were told the price for just the cleaning would be $109. We told them to proceed and when they were done we were given an invoice for $249 and we were told the inspection was free and the chimney cleaning was $249. We paid the $249. To their credit, when we called the office to complain, the company refunded the difference. Their estimate to do the chimney cap repair was three times another estimate we had obtained, so we will probably not use them.

great. Lenny and his assistant were very friendly. kenny explained all as he went, very knowledgeable. great salesman. plus he was super friendly, funny, just a great guy. a plus for the company.

It was a team of three headed by Dan, they were excellent! They were all very courteous and friendly, willing to talk and educate me on what they were doing -- no surprises. They put down ground cloths, were very clean with what they did and cleaned up afterwards. Very good experience on all counts. Would not hesitate to use their services again or recommend to others.
