The Window Man

Ham was great to work with. The product works as advertised. We had Mon-Ray Series 500 storm windows installed on our existing master bedroom windows. We face a busy street that includes a bus stop directly in front of our house. The windows have cut the traffic noise significantly if not completely. Buying the windows sight unseen I was skeptical. But I'm a believer now. They work extremely well. Ham's installers were friendly and professional. The windows look great and blend in with our existing facade.

We are so happy with The Window Man that we wanted to let others know about their outstanding product and service. We shopped the Northern Virginia Home Show for windows several years ago and learned a lot about the different types of windows and met many replacement window providers. We were so impressed with The Window Man that when we were ready to buy, we went with them. The salespeople were knowledgeable, friendly and worked within our budget. ( Windows can be very expensive!) The manufacturing and delivery of the windows took a few weeks longer than we had expected but that was not a problem for us. The windows are exactly what we had hoped for - beautiful and fully functional, the color is what we had asked for etc. The highlight of our experience however was the installation. The crew was immaculate. Thye cleaned the windows, vacummed all dust and debris and left no trace of the work behind. They were friendly, professional and got the job done more quickly than expected. I would recommend this company highly.

The team at Window Man is excellent. This home improvement effort was an excellent experience from the minute Nick Kalivretenos came to our house to give us an estimate to the final installlation of our storm windows, storm door and one new window. Every Window Man staff member I dealt with was highly professional and made me feel a valued customer every step of the way. Their staff is professional and focused on providing their customer the best quality products, best price and best service experience possible. Nick and Jon Schoenike were extremely knowledgable about the window and storm window products and took the time to educate us on what options were available and cost /benefit of each. They did a great job because we love our new storm windows and storm door -- they cut down on noise, increased our A/C efficiency, and provide us with greater security. We can't beleive the difference in noise -- we no longer hear our air conditioner right outside the window or street/traffic noise. Dan, who came out to measure, was thorough and comprehensive measuring for new storm window and storm door -- many of the openings were not square and some windows had operational issues that he had to work around. Nick proactively kept us to date on the progress of our order and scheduling the installaton. One word best describes the installers - craftsmen -- they take great pride in their work and it shows! My house is over 100 years old so every window and its opening presented them with a challenge, none of which they could not beat, and they exceeded all my expectations. The installers were excellent in communicating the status of the installation throughout the day. They took great care when they removed a rotted window in our bathroom and replaced with an Infinity window that closely matches the 100+ year ones. They left my house and the exterior job site neat and clean. The accounting folks are great too. The Window Man staff made the whole experience easy, pleasant and the Monray product they recommended is amazing. I highly recommend the Window Man and Monray products.

I was very satisfied with their customer service despite a few initial bumps in the road. Matt Farmer, a manager there, went above and beyond to help me with options and the overall process. The installation team was very professional and completed the job with good quality and cleaned up the area nicely.

The technician seemed to be in a rush to get out as soon as possible. I have not heard back from the company regarding an estimate even having called and emailed. Will not be pursuing business with them if this is the level of service and attention to detail I can expect.

The Window Man deserves the great reviews the company receives. I was badly in need of windows and had high expectations for this project; The Window Man exceeded them. I chose Marvin Infinity windows because I liked the quality of the Cardinal glass package, the thinness of the fiberglass frame and sash, and the window's clean lines. I would have preferred the pricing of the vinyl windows I looked at (some of which had marginally better insulative properties), but I'm very happy with the choice. Nick Kalivretenos presented both vinyl and fiber options without any pressure whatsoever. He proved as willing to talk to me about the products as the company's educational claims indicated he would be. The pricing I received on the Marvin windows was better than the other companies I spoke with, and from start to finish there were no surprises. The installation was completed in one day. Mike and his team of installers did a fantastic job both with the windows and the door. They were done in less than 7 hours, including a thorough clean-up. The improvement in the home in terms of cooling efficiency, sound insulation, and aesthetics is better than I'd anticipated. The Window Man provided friendly, high quality, and very professional service throughout the negotiation and installation at pricing that trumped its competitors. Bravo.

They did very good. We have had them twice.The people are very good. We have played around with this project for a number of years and finally we had so many people call, wanting to put windows in. It was done in a very short time. They didn't leave a mess. Everything worked out well. They were a little on the top end on price but for the work done it was very good. I thought maybe they were late one time and one time they had to send one guy but he did most of the work and they sent a crew to finish up. They were very professional. We are going to have a major door project in the back of the house and we are going to definitely have them do it.

Their pricing was very competitive. They kept appointments that they scheduled and the product itself was excellent. We vetted multiple window companies and they were by far the best one that we looked into.

They were excellent. It costed a lot. They knew what they were doing. I had no question when they came in and ripped the whole front door out and the windows and put it all back in. I just feel very confident with them. There were 2 -3 men who had to work on it. It's excellent. They came recommended to us by somebody else.

It went very, very well. There was a noticeable difference. The quality of the product for one thing was really good. They were in and out and they left in less than one work day. I'd definitely use them again. It was a little bit pricey but I got what I paid for. They were right on time. They're topnotch.

That went very well. We did it in two separate installations. We did the front and one side, then we did the back and the other side, like over 40 windows. They were wonderful. The team was knowledgeable. They did a great job on the windows. They have an A+ on the windows but they have a B+ on the door. It is more because windows you can replace to size and doors, you have to frame them in because they come one size. But they did inform us of that. It couldn't look as spectacular as the windows. They worked with us to get a lower price. As a matter of fact what happened was, one of our picture windows broke because of the big hailstorms, I called to get a replacement and there was a mistake in ordering and then there was a backup. Not only did they ultimately end up fixing it but at a significantly reduced cost. These windows are far better than the ones we had before. They are performing exactly like they are supposed to perform. Our house was warmer this past winter. So far we are doing great with these windows. When things went wrong, they called us up. I didn't have to chase after them. They were easy people to work with. I wanted to use reflective window in our bathroom and they suggested frosted instead. We love them.

We had H windows and they are very expensive. There are only two places where you can find them. We were very pleased with that, but with other things we were not. With the window product, we were very pleased. They were the only ones who had the H windows. They were the only ones that carried that brand. So, we would use them again if we were looking for H windows.

That turned out okay. They were very good. There were no problems. They were responsive. There was one window I had a problem with and they were responsive in fixing that problem.

We had an excellent experience. It started with Tammy, who took our call and set our appointment. She was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Gary, our technician, arrived several days later and repaired the screen door. Unfortunately, there was an error in the weather stripping, so he had to order another piece. He reset the door and made sure everything was set before he left. He was also professional, friendly and knowledgeable. Tammy kept us updated on the replacement part and let us know when it had arrived, and dispatched another technician the next day to complete the repair. Mike, another technician, arrived and completed the weather stripping. Once again, professional and friendly. Both technicians arrived promptly, at scheduled time. We had purchased the sliding glass door about 10 years ago from the Window Man, and even then, their customer service was outstanding. Too bad not more companies are as responsive as Window Man. They offer an excellent product and back up their product and work with outstanding customer service. From the office staff to technicians, we have been very pleased with all services provided. Without a doubt, we would recommend Window Man. Great products, with outstanding customer service!

Fabulous! Team arrived on time. Harry introduced the crew and they went to work. The crew took special care to protect the floors and furniture. Special effort taken to deal with large plantation shutters and mouldings. Removal was efficient and all debris was cleaned up-- inside and out. New windows and doors were installed yo perfection. Harry inspected and adjusted each. Made certain I understood operation, maintenance, and warranty. Work completed on schedule. They literally vacuumed their way out of my house. Wish my maid service left the floors that clean!

A friend who loves home design and remodeling referred me to the Window Man. I was very nervous about selecting and purchasing new windows because I had come across some "hard sells" in the past--companies who quote you a price but tell you it's only good if you replace all your windows at once or make a purchase on the spot. Working with Window Man was nothing like that. They came to my home, looked around my neighborhood to see what was likely to be compatible with our HOA rules even before ringing the bell, and talked to me about what I was seeking to accomplish. My initial meeting could not have gone better. They didn't show me 20 window options, windows that were way out of my price range, or windows that were low-priced--but poorly constructed. Instead they offered me a few choices based on what I wanted, explained the quality and features, and quoted me a price. There was no balking when I said I needed to start with only four windows instead of doing the whole house--no attempt to get me to sign anything "that day" or lose my quote--they just told me to get back in touch when I had made a decision. A few weeks later I came to the showroom to actually see the complete window. I liked the way it looked, and I made a down payment. On my installation day, the installers were on time and I was very impressed with how quickly and efficiently they worked. When the project was done, they had a vacuum, cleaned up debris indoors and out, and there were no stray bits of material anywhere at my home. I am very happy with my new windows. It is wonderful to feel warm even when I am standing close to the window. And it is so quiet, I can't hear noise from outdoors. Overall, I would definitely hire them again for their professionalism, the way they really listen to customers' needs, questions and concerns, and the quality of their products and installation.

The first employee arrived around 7:30. We walked around the house reviewing what needed to be done, i.e., which type of window and screen went where. Within an hour or so, the remaining seven members of the team arrived. Yes, eight installers worked on our house. The team was amazingly efficient removing the existing windows and roughing-in the replacements. Within four hours, all of the windows were installed leaving the finishing work. This is where I downgraded The Window Man (TWM). The caulking done on the interior was applied evenly and smoothed, almost invisible. A very professional appearance. Insulating foam and capping were applied to the exterior. Lastly, caulking was applied heavily with little to no smoothing. The bead is about 3/8" thick and wide with the ridges caused by the caulking gun clearly visible. The team finished the installation in about six hours and during the final walk-around, we discovered three window screens with holes and the unprofessional caulking. TWM agreed to take the screens back to their shop, rescreen and reinstall them. We can live with the ugly caulking.

Absolutely superb. Not only did they provide expert service, fully equipped and knowledgeable about their products, they went the extra mile by putting our windows and doors on a special shipment so that my husband would be surprised on his return from an overseas mission. The Window Man should deserve a medal not only expertise, but above all, personal commitment to their customers

I like the quality of their workmanship, their professionalism and promptness. Their price is a little bit on the high side but they do the work.

It's been very good. We have been kept informed of the progress and the folks were timely in getting out and doing the measurements. I have nothing but good things to say about them so far. A lot of window companies apparently from what it went online pretty much rely on very heavy duty high pressure sales job and these folks absolutely not. We canceled an appointment with another window company after learning how they go about high pressure folks, so I would strongly recommend this company over them.

The salesman who came to give the quote was not rude but not gregarious either. He came in, took the measurements for the existing windows, and gave us the quote for what we requested. It was only in discussions with other vendors that we were able to improve on the design of the existing windows, as they discussed options and helped educate us on ideas we would not otherwise have considered. The Window Man benefitted from this because they were reputed to have the superior fiberglass window option and are a reputable company, but on the sales end I would definitely recommend talking to other companies if you want to help solidify the right window options for you (and it's not a small or frequent change, so you want to get it right!) We went with the Marvin infinity fiberglass windows because a) they went into a sunroom, where the amount of light is the highlight of the room, and the fiberglass windows have as slim a frame as wood windows, b) the fiberglass is easy to maintain, and c) it's a single material as opposed to e.g. aluminum-clad wood, where you have the potential for reactions between the materials and water seepage over time. It was as expensive as the wood windows but with all the benefits of the look of wood windows (we were going to have the frames painted white regardless because the sunroom has yellow walls and the wood grain would have looked odd) but with all the benefits of vinyl windows. During the installation, the crew was timely and professional. We did have a couple issues with communication, and the foreman had to fix a few things on the final walk-through, but the company resolved everything that needed to be resolved. They also came back to help us understand that the patio door does require a bit of force to ensure a tight seal (my grandmother wouldn't be able to close the door properly) when we were concerned that it might not have been installed correctly. All in all, it was expensive but no doubt in our minds that it was worth it for the long-term quality and beauty of these windows.

What a great experience. On October 18th I saw Jon S. across the street and asked if he could look at my house when he was finished. In short order he came over - and I was signed up in about a half hour. One week later Harry stopped by and took measurements. On November 21 (my apologies - I forgot his name) came by and installed six windows in just over 5 hours. All three and the phone person were very pleasant to deal with. I'm very happy with the quality of the windows, and the workmanship. And wow - the house looks so much better inside and out. Thanks guys.

The sales experience was very good. We feel confident. They agreed to repair two small sections of window sill wood rot as part of installation. the estimate was that the windows would be installed within 4-8 weeks. We are waiting and it has been about 5 weeks since the order was made. We will update the review once installation is completed. All things were wonderful to date. We ordered quality windows at a fair price, and are expecting professional installation. I am hopeful the entire experience will be wonderful. For comparison, the other companies we looked at were Renewal by Anderson (not chosen because of price), Thompson Creek (not chosen because of price) and Window Universe (not chosen because of first time sales person and product/installation concern) All sales presentations we received were good.
