Description of Work: We ordered several fiberglass Marvin windows and two Previa doors. Installations was done timely and well. When I was not completely happy with the style of the front door, they were very accommodating to get the door window upgraded to meet my request. They were prompt, courteous and professional. We would use them again.

Description of Work: replaced all old storm windows with modern windows. Replaced French doors and transom window. The installers were amazing. The sales work was hit or miss. It was difficult to get a correct order written. Based on the installers I would give and A; but the front end was annoying.

Description of Work: Since we live in Del Ray, we used the location in Alexandria. The location was very convenient, which was nice because I visited the location several times and was able to have face to face conversations easily. The service was knowledgeable, friendly and professional. I was a picky client with a lot of questions and they always made sure to answer them to my satisfaction. We replaced all of the windows in our home, tore out the original 1956 metal frames, installed window frames, installed window sills, installed moulding, replaced a large flat window with a bay window and installed all new shutters and custom faux wood blinds. We have a small townhouse and knew the windows would make a huge impact, so we decided to budget a large amount for the project. We chose Marvin Infinity fiberglass windows because of their look, durability and the fact that the smaller window seams allowed for more visible glass. The window are casement windows with simulated divided lights. A large part of the cost was the type of windows and details that we chose. We gave the Price a B rating, because their quote was a little higher than some others, but I would give their Value an A+ rating. The designers were great and offered smart suggestions while measuring our house; we are very pleased with the outcome of the look of the windows. The before and after pictures blew us away. The installers were incredible. The Window Man brought at least 10 people to the site so that they could finish in one day. They were very polite and you could tell that all of them were really knowledgeable about their jobs. They had copious notes from our design sessions, but they came to me with any questions they had before starting work, so they always got it right the first time. The installers needed to tear out the old metals frames wrapped around the masonry (without damaging anything, including the vintage tile surrounding the window in our bathroom), they had to build the new custom wood frames, install the windows, build the sills and install the trim, figure out how to get the gigantic bay window to the back of the house (we are an interior townhouse), install the bay window, create and install a custom roof for the window and a hundred other things I'm sure I didn't even notice. But they finished by the end of the day and left the work site spotless. They are also great about any ongoing service issues and make it a priority to ensure that you are happy with the product and their work. I recommend The Window Man to anyone who wants to get new windows. I know two friends who have used The Wimdow Man and been very pleased with their work as well.

Description of Work: Replaced 14 double hung, a bow window, and 3 slider windows. Installation was quick and efficient. First day was below 0 outside and they managed to keep things pretty warm inside. Second day was much warmer. Clean up was excellent. So far windows are great. Look good. Easy to open and clean. Just what we wanted. | |Only negative was they included lead removal precautions into the quote but upon investigation by the installers they disagreed and performed the work without using these precautions. I immediately noticed this and had to ask the billing office to remove the lead charges, which they did without any hassle. The lead charges are $100 per opening. I am not sure if I had not questioned this if they would have taken the money off automatically.

Description of Work: We replaced all the windows in our apartment rental property. The job was done extremely well in a timely fashion. Installers were respectful and responsible, and did a beautiful job on the project. We can highly recommend this company.

Description of Work: I visited their Alexandria showroom to discuss options for replacing my original wood windows. The salesman, Hamilton Smith, was incredibly helpful inquiring about my motivations for wanting to replace my windows. He then offered a range of choices, showed me mock ups of a variety of products, and generally provided a zero pressure environment for me to consider my options. When I'm ready to commit to the project, I'll be returning to the Window Man.

Description of Work: After doing a lot of research on replacing my 25 year old wooden windows I found that the Marvin Infinity windows were the best choice I could make. Since these are fiberglass windows and not the cheaper and weaker vinyl windows they cost more. Knowing that they would not be inexpensive I wanted to get at least three bids for the job. One of the Marvin dealers that tried to treat his job quote as if I was buying a car so turned me off that I finally just turned him down. Fortunately his parting words were " You must be going with THE WINDOW MAN. Needless to say I gave them a call the next day. I spoke with Jon who assured me that they service Maryland and that they carry the Marvin Infinity Windows. To make a long story short Jon was very knowledgable and gave me the best price over the other dealers and was very easy to deal with. The Window Man does two sets of measurements. The first is an approximate size to give you a price quote. The second one is done precisely before the order is sent to the factory. It took approximately a month for the windows to be made an delivered. We ordered the grilles between the glass which makes cleaning them a breeze. Another nice feature that Marvin has is what they call Ever Wood. Its a exclusive wood grain interior finish that can be stained to match your existing woodwork. Once the windows came in The Window Man gave me a call to install the windows when it was good for us. They showed up as promised early in the morning and installed all twenty windows by the end of the day. All the measurements were so accurate that every window went in smoothly. I really love my new windows and would not hesitate to use The Window Man in the future.

Description of Work: Just so you know, they don't replace the glass in the window (mine was smashed), they only replace whole windows.
