Description of Work: Jacob is very knowledgeable about animal behavior and also very humane in his treatment of the animals. Raccoons were living in the attic for 2 weeks before he could schedule time to come out and remove them. He carefully removed the baby raccoon and placed it in an outdoor location so the mother would find it and not break in again looking for it. His interaction with the animals was phenomenal and they were not aggressive towards him. He screened the attic fan entry point and will be back later to replace it and to fortify the entry point with more screen. Except for the lag time in scheduling, I would give him an A+ in all the other categories for the work he did.

He was terrific. He was able to really get rid of the raccoons. We had a whole family living in our upper floor and we didn’t realize what was going on. He obviously knew his business. He got up in there and even knew how to make the raccoon sound. He took a trap and nailed it on our roof and put some anchovies in there because they love them. He said that he wanted to forewarn us what was going to happen. Then he told us that we would hear a lot of screaming when it walked into the trap. He was very humane about it. He disposed of it elsewhere because it was alive. He came back the very next day and got the trap and nailed meshing over the area. He was quite a guy. He was really responsive. He was a very nice guy. I don’t remember the price but we didn’t jump out of our skin regarding the price.

See above. He was very thorough and persistent in assessing my concerns and following up with additional possibilities as they came up. Even though we did not find an animal, and no removal or repair work was completed, he offered to come back and assess the neighboring home at no additional cost. I was very satisifed with the work.
Description of Work: The proprietor came to help assess what appeared to be a squirrel or bird nesting in my ceiling. Although nothing was nesting where suspected, he identified how a squirrel may have entered that area (through joists around the upstairs bathtub), and found some other areas in the house where it might be either nesting or traversing. In the end, he deduced that the animal must be entering through one of the adjoining houses. There was no fix to do at this time.

One month ago we?heard what sounded like squirrels inside our walls. ?I called several extermination companies through Angie's List but none of them handled squirrels. ?Instead they referred me to Jacob at Destination Wildlife Control. ?Jacob is the most responsive, professional, and effective critter control person I've ever hired. ?He's always available, even answering his cell phone in an attic while looking for squirrels. ?Our job turned out to be particularly complicated. ?It turned out we had not one but two mother squirrels who had a number of young ones, and they somehow made their way underneath a jacuzzi in our bathroom. ?Jacob came day after day (except weekends) to check and set traps, climbed on our roof to find entry points, and within a few weeks had caught at least six squirrels. ?Jacob understands squirrel behavior and knows just where to look and set traps. ?He did all of this at a single price for the entire job?and a month later we finally appear to be squirrel free. ?I highly recommend Jacob for getting rid of critters from the home.

Great! Jacob explained what he was doing, and seemed very competent. He got the job done!
Description of Work: He trapped several squirrels who had invaded our attic. He closed off the spots where they had come in after he had checked several times to be sure that all squirrels were gone. He made a number of visits to check on the traps and make the repairs.

My husband and I woke up at 1 am to find a bat flying around in our bedroom. We located the bat in another part of the house and I got on Angies List to find a 24 hr. emergency animal removal service. Called the number I believe two times and all I got was a vm. Left messages and never got a return call until 7 am the next day. So much for "24-hr. emergency service"

Response from The Master Trapper Inc
Unfortunately, I have been sick for a few days and did turn off my phone. Had I answered the phone, I would have advised the customer to call that number to have the bat removed from the living space. The police will come out in the middle of the night to ATTEMPT to find the animal. Sometimes they can, sometimes they can't. What they CAN'T do is check the house (the attic and outside) to see if there may be a colony living there or advise how to deal with the situation if there is a colony. While I do apologize for not getting to the phone, the customer did the right thing to call the police NON-EMERGENCY line.

See above. Jacob demonstrated a thoroughly professional approach to the task at hand. He patiently answered our questions in easily understood, jargon-free language, and shared his extensive local knowledge and experience of homeowner-wild animal interface. His cheerful confidence was reassuring, and he followed through to a high standard of task completion.. Jacob was up-front about what his services would cost, and how long they might take. He honored the Angie's List discount. Jacob's company guarantees his repairs for three years against further raccoon entry. In sum, we would recommend Jacob to other potential clients with enthusiasm, and without reservation.
Description of Work: Our upstairs was permeated by an eye-watering stench which seemed to originate in the attic. Years ago, a family of woodpeckers had similarly signified their presence when they nested within the house's original exterior siding. Another professional had removed them before we had all our siding replaced. Jacob Lehman promptly responded to our call for help. He arrived with his truck, rigged his ladder, diagnosed the problem, and caged three, six-week-old, baby raccoons. Having identified their mother's access hole under the roof gutter, Jacob set up a movement-activated infrared camera to monitor her movements. He proposed to seal the hole with sheet metal, but wanted to ensure that she had left the area, and would not be confined. Jacob returned to our house twice over four days, showed us his camera surveillance video, and when satisfied the mother raccoon had cleared off, he sealed the access hole, removed the accumulated raccoon leavings, and sprayed the affected area with odor remover.

He came out to the house to remove a racoon. He is very professional, personable and efficient. He does wonderful work. I once called him and he was out of town but still answered his cell phone and told me to give him a call as soon as he was back in town and he would be right now. We will be having him out again soon to take care of a woodpecker. He is a great person and I couldn't speak highly enough of him.

It was a rip off. The next day the squirrel was back in the attic. I called and asked if there was any guarantee or warranty and he told me no, he can't guarantee or warranty the whole house.
Description of Work: I called them because I had a squirrel in my attic. They came and he explained that they would go through and find all the areas that the squirrel was coming through and block the holes and put up screening and catch the squirrel. He took a look around and there was no squirrel in there. He put screening over one hole where he thought the squirrel was coming in at. It cost about $200 for 20 minutes of work.

Response from The Master Trapper Inc
The Member who called me about this job called in February, just after the big snow storms (Invoice is dated 18 February, 2010). When I arrived, the gentleman asked me to only look around the attic and check for the squirrel. I told him that that time of the year is when squirrels are having babies and that even if I did not see the squirrel I could not guarantee that the squirrel was not there. The member pointed out a hole in the vent on the end of the house where the squirrel was obviously getting in. I normally charge $200 for the inspection and trap setup and $100 to remove an unlimited amount of animals. Any repairs are additional (in this case $100 to screen the damaged vent) Despite my objections, the member did not want to pay for trapping and since he was paying cash I only charged $100 for the inspection and $100 for the repair (Which DOES have a 3 year guarantee! The squirrel returned and made a new hole somewhere else on the house.) His total bill was $200 for work that I did IN THE SNOW. There is also a note on the middle of my invoice that states: "Customer was advised that squirrel may be trapped inside but chose to do repairs anyway at this time" When the member called about the squirrel being back, I told him I would come back and set up a trap to remove the squirrel, but I would need to charge him the additional $100 for the trap setup and $100 for the animal removal and any NEW repairs would also be additional. In short, I charged him $200 for a job which would have normally cost $400 and could have potentially taken several days, but which I was not allowed to complete. I do still stand by my 3 year guarantee ON THE REPAIRS I PERFORMED.
