SuperNoVA Air Duct Cleaning

It went fine except the guy they sent spoke so softly I had to continually ask him to repeat what he said. It was somewhat frustrating.

This work had not been done in many years, so that even with a limited number of ducts and a one unit system, the job was not the easiest. Howard, the technician, maintained a thorough manner throughout, answering my questions, and pointing out potential issues. To his credit, he wanted to do a good job even though I was reluctant to go very far beyond the original Angie's deal listing that I had paid for. I believe that if a 'deal' should include additional work, then the deal should make that clear. But based on Howard's reasonable explanations and a call back to his office that resulted in a lower price for an 'add-on' I was prepared to move ahead. I now appreciate the wisdom of not letting decades go by without a cleaning and I appreciate the work was done by Howard.

Started the work timely. Spent sufficient time to conduct thorough job.

However, my biggest concern issue, if for the money (just under $400 with hard negotiated 'upgrade' on sanitizer, I expected one of the ones where they actually 'scrub' the ducts (and/or take pictures before after to show the difference). However this company merely attached a very large vacuum cleaner, to a duct (not even the main return/furnace), and 'sucks' from there, and then just a simple shop vac on 'blow' blowing through the vents at each other duct, so moderate 'air flow' through the ducts is all that is 'cleaning' them One week after this cleaning, I ended up having a new furnace installed (one of the reason I got the cleaning wanted clean ducts for new furnace); however, their team noted 'rather dirty ducts' and their camera's showed pieces of paper/lint/dust stuck to the inside of the ducts in the first few feet of just about every vent they checked. The other company's service for only slightly more (total was $420) involved what I was expecting of attaching the giant vacuum cleaner, to the furnace/return and then going to each vent, removing the cover, and runnning a 'spinny brush' down the air vent as far as they could (many of them they could get it 10-15' before the run bent enough they couldn't get the brush past the turn), likewise not only could i see stuff going out the 'exhaust' pipe to their truck and filter, the before and after pictures of the duct work, were day and night. From looking like something 20 years old and never cleaned, to something that while not new, looked like somebody cleaned it regularly). I know that all the stuff that the second company got out, was from 'one week' and fairly confident this companies just 'sucking' (and not even from a central spot) has no real way to get stuff 'stuck' on the duct work off. Maybe good if mild dust (or maybe just the disenfectant if you think you got mold), but if never been cleaned, and you want the ducts 'cleaned' IMO this is not the service to get, for very slightly more, you can get others that actual 'brush/scrub' the length of the duct work, to get it clean. ===================================================== UPDATE ===================================================== The major complaints with the level/quality of the work performed has been confirmed to be a poor employee NOT the company. Upon receipt of the review I was contacted by the company who explained what was done was NOT the proper service and what I paid for. As I had already had the work re-done by a second company, they offered me a full refunded (and a free dryer vent cleaning). They also stated that as the employee has done this to me, they were going to go through all previous work order from that employee and check with those customers to see what was done. So While I can not say the actual quality of work when done (since ultimately did not have it done), my negative reviews for the company have been changed, as the company has done the proper / honorable thing and corrected the poor work of their employee. =======================================================

The appointment was scheduled promptly and I am very satisfied with the work done. The technician, Moti, was very thorough and knowledgeable. He took the time to show us the difference in the vents from before to after the service, and it was significant. I am very pleased with the job and would definitely recommend to anyone needing duct cleaning to use their services.

Moti was excellent. He explained everything and was very thorough. It had been more than 10 years since our last vent cleaning. We were having a lot of allergy symptoms and we wanted to rule out any issues with build up in the vents.

The technician, Howard, arrived on time. He was very careful about bringing all the equipment into the house. He explained in great detail everything he would be doing and all throughout he would show me before and after pictures of each section he completed. It was very nasty in most spots, so we added on an extra level of cleaning and anti-bacterial treatment. I don't know the particulars about this sort of stuff, but it sure looked like these vents may have never been previously cleaned. I think it was almost 5 hours from start to finish. Anyway, Howard did a fantastic job! As careful as he was bringing gear in, he was equally careful carting it back out. I would absolutely recommend SuperNoVA.

Howard was great. He explained everything, took before and after pictures and had me look inside the vents to see what we were dealing with. I moved into a 40 year old townhouse 2 years ago, and never thought to clean the air ducts until now, and I am so glad I did. Despite replacing the floors and painting the walls, the house had always retained a faintly stale smell, and my daughter had constant allergies. After this very thorough job done by Howard, I no longer have the smell, and I think my daughter's allergies have greatly improved. Howard said that looking at what was in the vents, it had been at least a decade or more since they were last cleaned. I am now a strong believer in the usefulness of this service. I opted to have them use an anti-bacterial fogger in the ducts too, and I would recommend that. I threw in dryer vent cleaning while he was there, and am glad I did; it now takes less time for the clothes to dry. I would highly recommend using this company. Very honest and reliable.

The service person, Roy, was very friendly and professional. He gave us information through every step of the service. I purchase the $320 Angie's List coupon. I was skeptical as this was cheaper than other Air Duct cleaning businesses in the area. I checked with a friend who is in a similar line of business and Super Nova Duct Cleaning is legit. Great deal all the way around!

Company quickly called me back regarding a disagreement and quickly and professionally resolved problem to my satisfaction. They stand behind their work and company name and that honor is worth a lot these days, since I was't initially completely happy.

Roy was great. It was a crazy morning in the house with pets, contractors finishing up other work and me trying to handle business calls. Roy was calm and got the job done in the chaos. Eveb took the tine to snap some before and after photos of the dusty vents. Yuck! He gently reminded me that I should clean my dryer vents more often because it is a fire hazard. I took his message to heart and will be sure to call SuperNoVA again and ask for Roy.

Julian went above and beyond with our dryer vent cleaning. He did a tremendous job on this task. The whole condo vent cleaning seemed to go well also, though the results were not as dramatic.

They did a great job. I didn't need to spend any more than the Big Deal price. I liked their services. We've been living in our house for 20 years and we've never thought about cleaning the air ducts, so I did get a sense of cleanliness in the house. We have air ducts for air conditioning but our heating system is hot water baseboard heat and it's a great system but it just seemed like there was less dust in the house. The guy was young and English was not his first language. He was like from Eastern Europe. His English was fine but he talked really softly. I was like, "What? What did you say?". He was young and he was just quiet-spoken. That was the nature of the person, though, so I can't really judge that. He was fine and very respectful. The work was great but I can't see it, it's inside the ducts. They were good.

Moti & Howard provided the air duct cleaning, deodorizer and sanitizer with unlimited vents for 1 forced-air unit. They called before arrival. They were professional, courteous, and explained in detail the cleaning process. Provided pictures showing all the dust and dirt found. We paid the additional cost to have the antibacterial solution applied.

Excellent work performed for both A/C systems, including supply vents, air returns, connection boxes, bacterial control and outdoor dryer vent cleaning. Workmen were very professional, courteous, and explained all operations being performed. Will recommend their service to family and friends.
