Not punctual, owner constantly went out of town & unable to be reached. Was left to work with an inexperienced assistant. The pool was dug incorrectly & not level. Numerous other things went wrong as well. Was always calling when his payments were due, otherwise very difficult to reach. Did not complete the job or leave equipment promised in contract. Therefore we did not pay him the remaining balance of bill.

We met with Peter McCambridge in April 2014 and put a down payment for an inground pool. We were guaranteed that the pool would be complete within 35 days from the start of excavation. Excavation started on 5/17/2014.One of the biggest problems with this company is that he subs out every aspect of the pool, he is one of the smaller pool builders and seems to have a hard time scheduling the sub contractors to do the work. The entire process was a nightmare for us...we were left with a 20x40 hole in our yard that was not properly fenced off with construction fencing. We had trenches through out the entire back yard and when it would rain in between the long delays that work was being done, our patio and yard would flood, at one point it was starting to come into our home. We would call Peter constantly trying to get the project moving along, he NEVER answers his phone. The only time you see him is when the work hits a draw point. He has hung up on us, his secretary is as rude as him! Keep in mind that this is a man that had 60000 of our money! Our pool was finally complete 60+ days later and conveniently Peter was out of town, imagine that! Here we have a custom pool filling with water and were promised in the beginning that when the pool was complete he would be out to show us how to work all of the equipment and what we would need to do. He sends out another subcontractor that was supposed to install our slide, he knew nothing about that and said he didn't have time to do it...so we installed it ourselves. This "pool guy" comes out and dumps some chemicals in the pool, didn't show us how to use anything, he didn't even know how many gallons our pool was! We call Peter and of course...NO ANSWER! So we start going to pool supply places to learn what to do! We were supposed to get an automatic cleaner when the pool was finished. After many phone calls and after we went and bought a unit that we had to do by hand, a month later we get the automatic cleaner. Peter felt so bad that he said he would refund us 100.00....we have yet to see that!! Surprise!! Also, our pool has a raised spa and the fittings for the jets were never installed...we have texted and spoke to Peter several times and each time we are promised that he or one of his field guys will bring them and install them...we are getting ready to close the pool and still don't have them! I highly recommend that you do your homework and find a pool builder that truly values their customers...Through this process we have met many pool builders that are much easier to work with. The only reason we didn't give him all F's is that our pool is beautiful, just not sure it was worth all the aggravation we went through! Oh and finally we were promised a multicolor changing pool light and instead received the standard halogen white light. We did our own research and learned that we could install our own light for about $200 where Peter wanted an additional $1,200! Bottom line with this company be prepared to manage the project yourself as the homeowner, understand the project timeline will constantly be extended and be willing to do your own research as you will be expected to troubleshoot issues that one would assume the builder should be handling because he is nowhere to be found.
