After a bit of email exchange with Craig to get him out to my house to provide an estimate (took a little longer than I would have liked, but we're both busy people), he swung by one evening after work (meeting my schedule) and walked through the work I wanted done, providing advice and estimated costs. I later called to confirm a date for the work, and requested "first thing in the morning" on the day of the appointment, as I had family coming into town that afternoon. Craig and Nelson showed up shortly after 8. Craig walked Nelson through my to-do list and made sure he understood the work to be done. Nelson then tackled the jobs one by one, completing them efficiently and professionally, taking care to protect work areas with plastic sheeting. I was particularly pleased with the installation of the new light fixture, which I had feared might require cutting a hole in the wall in order to access the power source. Nelson was able to go through the ceiling, with no cosmetic damage to repair. He went above and beyond to try to determine why an outer lightpost was not functioning. When replacing the light sensor didn't solve the problem, he identified the wiring in the house that should be the power source for the lightpost. Since it was not the only exterior light source and it would be far more trouble than it was worth to fix it, in the end I decided that the lightpost would just be ornamental. Nelson took the newly installed sensor out and replaced it with the old one, saving me a few dollars. It was a pleasure to work with Craig and Nelson. I will call Staples for any future electrical needs.

My refrigerator and stove went out. An electrician was able to come that day, and they called to let me know he was able to come even earlier if I wanted. As it turns out, in this old house, one GFI outlet was in series before the two appliances and it had tripped. The electrician was able to find this and additionally inspected the electrical system as he was finding the problem.

After reading glowing reports on Angie's list, I called Staples Electric to replace malfunctioning electronics in my home (installed by a general contractor) and was very surprised that the company owner actually answered my initial call himself - and was able to give me a general estimate for the needed services and set up an appointment to begin work right away - that never happens with just one phone call! The electrician was right on time for the appointment. Not only was he very efficient and professional, but he took time to explain the repair processes, came equipped with all necessary tools and parts, answered my many questions, and took special care to leave work areas clean and tidy. During the repair process he showed me work done by a previous general contractor that was actually a fire hazard and we made plans to repair those areas as well. Just before the electrician departed, the company owner called to ask me if the work was satisfactory and confirm that I was satisfied with all aspects of the job. I was very impressed with the quality of the work and the remarkable level of customer service provided. I would highly recommend Staples Electric to anyone needing this type of service.

What great service! The electrician was on time and completed the job quickly. It was a brand new install (meaning had to wire and drill a hole in the ceiling for the fan). The electrician was very kind and helpful. Will absolutely be using Staples again!

I was impressed with the service from start to finish. Craig Staples himself came out to do the estimate, and was very helpful in suggesting a more cost-effective solution for our living room lighting than what we had originally considered. He was very responsive over email in providing the estimate, responding to questions, and scheduling the service. His staff showed up right on time and completed the entire job, including measurement and set-up, in just under two hours. They also kept the living room completely clean of any drywall dust and patched everything beautifully! Everything works just great--I will definitely look to Staples for any future electrical needs and highly recommend them!

It?s owned by Craig E. Staples. I like him a lot. They are with Angie?s list. They are very good in the quality of their work. I have interviewed several electricians; even the one?s who are rated highly on Angie?s list. I didn?t like them as much as Staples Electric LLC. I feel they are very competent. Sometimes their schedule was little bit off but I would rather wait for a day or two, to have them do the work. Their rates are very good. He sent a guy who works with him and he is also good. His name is Roberto and he did not come again. My post is broken and they are going to fix that for me. I have a lot of confidence in their work. I know that the price is going to be right. Craig has been very responsive. Whenever I call him, he comes as soon as he can. He is very knowledgeable. I have had electricians come and I had to tell them how to do the wiring. When Craig came, he told me what and how to do things. He knew what he was doing. I would use them in the future.

Craig was extremely professional. He went over & above to answer our questions. He followed through in a timely manner with each of his commitments & spent extra time on the job without any upcharge. We are new to Northern Virginia & were worried about hiring a contractor. I needed some electrical repairs done quickly and Craig was able to meet the need. He came within two days to assess and price the job, and then came back quickly to actually do the job. While Craig was in my home, we discussed putting in recessed lights in the kitchen. He assured me that this would be no problem and could be completed when the repairs were done. He was right. Craig sent Roberto, a very industrious and intelligent young man, to make the repairs, and then stopped by himself to make sure everything was going well. Roberto completed the repairs in no time and then installed the lights. He was quick, efficient, and very clean. Except for painting, the lights look like they have always been there. This was an exceptionally good experience from start to finish.

We needed to have two ceiling fans/lights repaired. Staples Electric was highly rated on Angie?s list, our first source for just about anything related to services. Craig Staples (the owner) quickly responded to our email and was on site in a few days for these non-emergency repairs. Craig assessed the problem, ordered the parts, but also made an association between circuit card-related problems with the fans/lights and other appliances (microwave oven). He recommended we also have surge protectors installed on our service panels, which will most likely preclude future problems from occurring. After the parts arrived, Craig had one of his employees complete the repairs. While all this was going occurring, we also had an electrical problem at one of our rentals. Craig worked this into his schedule along with the work he was doing at our home, and got everything done right and on time. Craig was everything that you would expect in a professional ? technically competent, punctual, fair, and friendly. We plan to use Staples Electric on all future electrical issues for our home and rental properties.

Craig Staples responded very quickly to my call and was more than willing to schedule the initial consult around my availability. I decided on the spot to go forward with the work since none of the other companies I had called had responded to me. I was not home when the work was done but when I got home WOW!... the new lights are fantastic!! My whole kitchen looks brighter and larger. I was very glad Craig suggested I use the lights he recommended instead of the less expensive ones I had purchased at Home Depot. They had a bronze frame. The white frames on the lights that were installed help make them blend in much better with the ceiling. I am also glad I listened to his suggestion for a dimmer switch because I can set "mood" lighting in the area when I am not cooking. The drywall repair was needed due to how the old fixture was mounted and not because of anything the Staples guys did. My kitchen was spotless when I got home so they did an outstanding job of cleaning up afterwards. I would strongly suggest Staples Electric to anyone needing Electrical work. In fact I told Craig that once my neighbors see how great my kitchen looks he should expect lots more business!

The job took several days longer than planned but it ensured the work was not rushed but done properly. Craig Staples was very accommodating with respect to changes in requirements and made suggestions including how to save some money in how certain lighting needs would be met. Craig came by every day and stayed as long as he was needed and supervised the work but his crew did about 95% of it (if an issue came up, Craig was available to address and solve it). Nelson always showed up on time in the morning and worked hard all day and sometimes not leaving at 5:00 quitting time in order to finish up what he was working on and to clean up. Roberto also worked on site as needed and also was responsible, professional and easy to work with. They covered everything in each room they worked in to capture plaster and dust and that was about 90% successful - I realize dust often moves around no matter what precautions are taken. They cleaned up at the end of every day, removing the plastic and the day's detritus - the next day re-covering as needed even if in the same rooms as the prior day. After rooms are painted, they will be back to finish hanging some new light fixtures and work on some additional needs that we would like addressed. Overall, very happy with the quality of the work and the professionalism of the company.

Craig Staples and his employee, Nelson, are a top notch team. Craig arrived at my house early (outside of his regular business hours) for our initial meeting, so as to best meet my personal work schedule. Craig provided an accurate estimate, which was significantly less than others I had spoken with. He also included suggestions for additional work that would improve the safety of my house. Craig was exceptionally responsive to emails and phone calls, even after his team's work was complete. I plan on suggesting Craig's work to all of my friends/family who require electrical work.

Roberto arrived on time and identified the problem quickly. He explained each step of the diagnosis and repair process, and gave some helpful general information about circuit breakers. He was courteous and professional. Very positive experience.

Craig came out to estimate, showed up on time. Initially I was concerned as he did not take notes during the visit, but he provided a detailed estimate the following day via email. He provided the lowest estimate of four bidders. Craig called to confirm the start date, and called the night before to confirm the time of arrival. Roberto and Craig arrived on time, and began work on the CAT5 runs, our priority item. Roberto did an unbelievable job of stringing a new LAN cable from one end of the house to the other while only making three small holes in the drywall, all of which were expertly replaced with the pieces of drywall cut. Our painter had no trouble patching them up. The other electrical tasks were finished over the next two days. They worked while i was at work and had few questions or need for help from us. Craig did call once to confirm the location of one electrical box, which was appreciated. He also called each night to confirm time of arrival next day. Roberto was exceptional throughout, and did a great job for us. I would not hesitate to call on Staples again for whatever electrical project.
