I made an appointment via email and no one showed up!! I called and got no response.

Felix worked well and hard for one hour to complete the job. He is polite and professional. In addition, he addressed a few other lighting/electrical questions/concerns I had. I recommend their services. Thank you, Tom.

Craig Staples is a top notch electrician and so is the team that came out here to install the fans. They are thorough and the price was right. They were on time, did a great job and there were no surprises. I would definitely hire Craig again for any of my needs in electrical work.

Mr. Staples showed up on time for the estimate and listened to what I need to have done. He explained clearly the work process and the cost involved. I scheduled the work to begin at a time and date that worked for both of us. On the day the work was to begin the technicians showed up on time and were prepared to do the work. They were courteous and respectful of the house and executed all work to my satisfaction and answered all of my questions. I am very please with Staples Electric and plan to use their services for all my future electrical needs.

I was selling my townhouse and the home inspector for the buyer dinged me with a bunch of stuff that I had to get fixed within about a week. We all know about home inspections and they are mostly hot air but in this market I needed to sell and I wasn't about to put the kibosh on the deal. I called Craig and he sent Roberto over the next day. I had a punch list of a bunch of items that I needed to have done and they completed everything that needed to be done. The list consisted of things like install conduit for outside lighting (I didn't need this in the end because it met code and Craig explained in writing that it was safe), install new outlet outside, fix loose fixture, fix loose wires and outlet at HVAC system, new doorbell installed, fix broken fixture in closet and GFC wiring and install for the tub whirlpool pump.The work was done in a few hours and I had the documentation I needed to go to closing with no hitches. These guys are awesome and I have my electrician for life.

Not responsive. I found this company on Angies list and decided to use them based on the recent reviews. I also used the quick connect email feature because it stated a response is guaranteed within two hours. Unfortunately, I had to submit the request twice before I received an e-mail. I received a response on a Friday night and did not reply because I thought the offices were closed. I received a follow-up e-mail from Mr. Staples on Monday asking about the request. I replied that I would like him to give me a call to scheduled the services. No response. I also called the office twice and left a message. No response. It is not professional to not return calls, especially when the company stated in could do the work. I work with small businesses all the time, so I am understanding about being understaffed. However, there is no excuse to not following up.

The whole visit went extremely well. Could not be more pleased.

It did not go well and caused me to have another electrician continue the work. The licensed electrician was not onsite to supervise the work.

I had good, competent service from Staples Electric a few weeks ago when I had a waterproof outlet installed, so when a breaker tripped in our home I called them again. The breaker wouldn’t reset, and the lights were out on the laundry room, kitchen, living room, and dining room. I called them early in the morning on a weekday and Craig was able to get someone out the same day. Communication was good and he called to let me know when the technician was headed to my house. Nelson was courteous and professional and diagnosed the problem (bad breaker as opposed to wiring or outlet) in about 15 minutes. He worked it so we would have lights that evening and returned on time the next afternoon. I was a bit late coming from my office. No worries - he quickly installed the replacement part. As before, this company provided great service and the price was very reasonable. I would not hesitate to use them again.

Reasonable price quality work: Craig Staples, was always on time from the initial proposal and during the project. He always informed us an hour in advance when the electricians would be arriving. We were originally told the job should take about two days, but it ended up being 5 (partial) days. Between original electrical work from 1968 and us adding more to the project, the delay in time was in no fault of Staples Electric. Craig did seem very busy, but still had time to stop by the house and make sure we were happy throughout the project. Roberto and Nelson were wonderful! They were very skilled, knowledgeable, and were extremely friendly. At the end of each day, everything was cleaned up and put back in order. I would strongly recommend Staples Electric for any electrical needs and we will be using them again in the future.

We had to have one of those ancient push/pop fuses replaced and soon discovered that it would be more cost-effective to replace the entire panel. We checked Angie's list and found Staples. Craig Staples returned the call almost immediately, made a same-day appointment to assess the problem, and then returned to complete the work when they said they would. If there were delays (there were a couple of minor ones), Craig kept me posted of what was going on and why (keep in mind, this is all less than one week after that awful flooding in the region; these electrical guys were more than a little busy...) We were very pleased with the work, please with the level and manner of communication--Craig had also sent an email in advance of their visit to spell out what would happen etc., when they arrived. And our final bill was under what he had estimated. The Staples associate (Andrew, if I recall) was very professional as well. All in all, we have no complaints and we'd be happy to use them again, as well as recommend them to others.

Staples was by far the most reasonably priced of the 3 electricians we sought quotes from. Craig Staples (the owner) was fantastic to deal with and quick to respond to our initial request and follow up questions. Once we made the decision to work with him, he had us on his schedule within 3 days. The day of the work, Craig showed up with 2 crew members right on time (8am). Craig, along with myself, walked the crew through all of the work that had to be done and the guys got right to work. They did an excellent job and finished the job early. If I had any qualms about the work done, it would be the way in which the new wiring was run in the utility room (where the main box is) and the attic. It was done a bit sloppily and not as neatly as I would have done it myself. That said, its not a problem and something I can easily fix in a few minutes one of these days when I get to long list of nice-to-haves that I have been building. THIS IS AN UPDATE TO MY ORIGINAL REPORT: Within a day of me submitting my original report, I got a call from Craig Staples and that afternoon he sent two guys back out to the house to correct the minor issues I mentioned above. Even though I told him it was no big deal, he insisted that I be 100% satisfied with his company's work no matter how small the issue. You don't see service like that very often!

We hired Staples to install a waterproof outlet box on the outside wall of our garage to power an outdoor light kit installed by a landscaper. Roberto arrived promptly at the scheduled time and was courteous, knowledgeable, and efficient. He installed a good-quality recessed outlet in the exterior brick wall, and, inside the garage, installed a new circuit breaker in the breaker box and routed the cable neatly along the top of the wall. He brought the cable down behind the drywall and spackled the opening where it was wired into the back of the outlet box. He did a great job and the end result is a safe outlet box that meets code, and no conspicuous wires in the garage itself. If you’re looking for a good, competent company to show up on time and do exactly what they say they are going to do at reasonable cost, this is it.

Nelson was prompt and courteous. He worked efficiently, and, since they bill by the hour, he was sure to let me know there was time left on the clock to look at other items on my task list. The price for two hour-long visits was extraordinarily reasonable. I would definitely recommend Staples and use them again myself.

I was very happy with the service provided. Made an appt with Craig to provide estimate. He showed up on time and estimate was competitive with others. We coordinated a date to have the work performed. Electrician was on time to perform work and was extremely professional. He was very conscientious about his work and was very careful and respectful of my home. Craig did underestimate the amount of time to complete the job so I had to work with him to schedule a follow-up visit to complete the work. While the work took longer than expected, Craig was true to his original estimate and did not try to haggle to cover additional time which I appreciated and I believe reflects his commitment to building long-term customer relationships. All of the work performed was top notch and I will definitely use Staples again for any future needs.

Overall it was good, they were professionals

A tech came on time Monday and was quick to offer a possible cause to the problem. He told me what he would do and the total cost. He returned the next day with the correct parts and and finished the job quickly and was very neat. I will use them in the future without question.

We've used Staples Electric before, and I emailed Craig to get a quote for the work. He provided an estimate the next day in email. Roberto was scheduled to come out to the house the following week. Craig called later in the week to ask if we could change the date of service, pushing it back two days, which was not an issue for us. We had a couple of meetings to work around on the new day, and I talked to Craig in the morning on that day to arrange the exact time. Roberto showed up exactly at the time arranged, took only about 2 and a half hours to complete the work and headed out. They gave us a little break on the price, I think due to the rescheduling, which was a pleasant surprise given that we weren't in a real rush. The finished work looks great, it was all very clean and Roberto even answered a couple of my dumb electrical questions on the way out to the truck.

I had a wonderful experience using Staples Electric. From the initial conversation with Craig regarding the project to completion of work, everything went extremely well from start to finish all at a fair price. My questions were answered, they worked around my work schedule and installed the fan on a Monday evening, and there were absolutely no issues with the work completed. While the job was very straightforward, using Staples Electric was everything you would want in a contractor. I will definitely use them again for future projects and will recommend them to friends and family.

Excellent. Craig explained the diagnosis and recommendations clearly. Update 11-23-13: In July 2011, I emailed him but I was never contacted again. My breaker has been fine since then, so I don't care at this point.

What a pleasant company to deal with. They were very professional and friendly, arrived on time and went right to work. They put down plastic to protect my kitchen floor and cleaned up the work area when they were finished. I could not have asked for more. This is a company that values its reputation and protects it by delivering quality customer service. I plan to have them come back in the fall to replace my service to bring it up to current code.

Craig came out and reviewed the work we needed to have done. He emailed a good estimate and then scheduled the work via email. His guy that came out to do the work was on time, did a great job and was very professional. The prices were very good and we were very happy with the work they did.

This job was the result of Craig's walk-through on my original job earlier this month, where he noted that having a ceiling fan in the master bedroom was actually not to code, as the ceiling was not high enough to allow for it. Indeed, this was a leftover from the previous owner and was really out of scale for the room. I hadn't made up my mind about the fixture that would replace the fan before the first work date; otherwise would have combined the two. Nelson arrived on time and went right to work. What we thought would be a quick swap of fan for fixture got a little more complicated when Nelson discovered that the switch that should operate the light did not. After consulting with Craig, we agreed that Nelson would run a line to make the connection. He did so quickly, making minimal holes in the ceiling for access. On completion, he patched the holes, leaving them ready for some paint. After the completion of the previous job, I asked Craig to break down the pricing for me, as it seemed a little off. He reviewed it and quickly informed me that they had overcharged me by an hour. He applied that credit to this job, which likely would have covered everything, had it not been for the new line. Even so, I thought the cost was quite reasonable. I'm a Staples fan, and will definitely call on them for future electrical needs and home improvement projects.
