Everything went well. Andersen arrived on time and did a great installation. I like their products, and I would use them again.

Everything went well. The installers were great, they completed the work quickly, and they did an excellent job.

I asked them to contact me to replace my patio door. When they called back. I explained I only needed one door replaced and was told they don't come out and do free estimates for only one door I was welcome to go to the show room and pick a door out and then they would talk to me. When I asked how they could estimate the cost to install the door without having taken measurements or looked at it he said they would probably come after I picked a door out. Salesperson had no idea what he was doing or how it was supposed to be done. Stay away.

My husband and I looked at many different brands of windows and finally decided on Renewal by Anderson because of their look and reputation. We thought by paying more and choosing a well-known brand we would have a better experience. Were we ever wrong. My husband is really handy so we explained to the sales person exactly what we wanted and what our Home Owners Association required. When the man came out to measure our windows to place the order my husband told him the same thing, but he was ignored and the man started using all kinds of industry terms we didn?t understand to make us feel dumb. The day the crew finally came to install the windows my husband asked that they wouldn?t be here before noon. When he got home at 10 AM there were two people sitting on our front lawn. They immediately started to rip out the windows damaging drywall as they went. The crew leader didn?t show up for another 2 hours with the new windows. When he did they put the first window in the opening and it was 4 ½ inches too short and 1 inch to small on the width. When my husband complained that they weren?t right he was told that they were the size that was ordered. After more complaints and a call to the sales person the guy who originally measured the windows came back out. When he saw the windows he said that they looked fine to him. When my husband showed him the requirements from the HOA, again stating that the windows couldn?t be smaller, he finally admitted that he made a mistake. He then pleaded with my husband to call an emergency meeting of the HOA design review board to ask them if we could use the windows anyway because he would get in trouble if he admitted to his boss that he didn?t measure the windows right. After many more calls to the sales person, which were never answered, they finally agreed to reorder the windows. We lived with three temporary windows for almost a month while they reordered new ones. When they finally got the replacement windows they sent the same crew back out. As they ripped out all of our windows they would place a small drop cloth under the window, but as they walked in and out of the house they would track all the dust and dirt right across our carpets and wood floors. Our house was a complete disaster with a thick layer of drywall dust throughout the house but especially all over the kitchen. They didn?t even try to contain any of the dirt. My husband and I spent that evening cleaning the entire house so our toddler wouldn?t get sick breathing all the dust. The second day they returned to finish all the trim inside the house. Before the trim is put on spray foam or caulk is supposed to be put between the window and the wall to seal the opening so air doesn?t leak around the window. My husband noticed that the person who sprayed the foam did a very bad job and in places didn?t install any. My husband pointed this out to the crew leader and he was promised that it would be done right. That afternoon they ?finished? the job. As they ran out of the house they demanded the final payment. What they left was a mess. Not only was the house that we cleaned the night before a mess again but the yard was full of debris. The most troubling was the small pieces of metal and used nails that were scattered throughout our lawn. We couldn?t let our toddler play outside for several days while we picked up all the small pieces of metal after we found him trying to put several in his mouth. That evening as we looked at the windows we started to notice that there was something wrong. When they installed the wood trim around the inside of the windows they put everything off center. The trim on EVERY window was off center by about a half of an inch. This doesn?t sound like much but when you look at the window it just didn?t look right. We then wondered if the installers had really sealed the windows correctly as my husband had asked. Since we were dissatisfied with the windows anyway my husband took off a part of the wood trim. We found that they had indeed not done anything to fix the foam seal around the windows. We immediately stopped payment on our check and called Renewal by Anderson. When we told them we had stopped payment they sent a manager out and we showed him what we thought was wrong. The manager looked at the work and agreed that it would have to be fixed. He took notes and pictures and said that he would give detailed instructions to the crew to fix the problems including replacing all of the trim in the interior. We asked that they send different workers out to fix the problem because we were uncomfortable with having the same people back that had done the poor work in the first place. Renewal by Anderson refused to send other crew out and told us that the people that did the bad job the first time would be doing the job again. When the original workers returned, they first asked my husband what they were supposed to do. When he inquired about the specific list their manager was supposed to have given them, they knew nothing about it. When my husband told them they were supposed to remove all the trim they installed, they were very unhappy. As they did their work they took even less care to protect our house. This time they didn?t even bother to put drop cloths below the windows. They put tubes of caulk and spray foam cans directly on our carpets (we now have caulk on our carpets!). Throughout the day my husband still had to point out how to correctly seal the windows because they still either didn?t know or didn?t want to properly install the windows. The most disturbing thing was the smell. Because they had to remove all the wood work and the caulk they used to install the windows the first time they used a chemical called goo off. This chemical has a warning on the label that says it can cause neurological and physiological damage and to keep out of the reach of children. The crew was leaving these spray cans around the house without even putting the cap back on. My husband waked into my son?s room and found an open spray can sitting on the floor of his room. They had no regard for our house or our safety. This time before they left my husband carefully inspected all the windows. He found two windows that wouldn?t open and one window had a bug between the panes of glass. After pointing this out to the manager they said that they would again have to order the replacement parts which would take several more weeks. When the replacement parts were installed the installer damaged one of the parts and had to reorder that part again. It has taken 7 months for them to finally finish the window installation. The last month they kept sending us letters saying that they were going to start charging us interest on the unpaid balance even though they hadn?t finished the job yet. After many complaints to the crew and managers we finally got a visit from the owner of the local Renewal by Anderson Company (The Window Place). He assured us that these things never happen to any other customers. My husband and I are pretty sure that these things happen more often than not. It?s just that most people either don?t know enough to know that things aren?t being done right or just don?t complain. I would recommend that if you don?t already know how a window is supposed to be installed you learn so you can supervise the installers or you find a contractor that will actually do it right without having to be told. It?s a shame because they?re the nicest looking replacement windows we saw but we would never put ourselves through this again. We would rather have different windows. I would NEVER use this company again and would not recommend them to any of my friends.

The company scheduled a salesman to visit our home quickly and pleasantly. The salesman arrived at the scheduled time and was very professional and helpful. We agreed on installation of 1 French Anderson door to replace a 15 year old door on our wood deck that was rotten. We were not happy with the price, being about twice what we could have purchased it for directly from Home Depot. But we thought that the service and installation offered by the local dealer for Anderson doors would be worthwhile and save us time and problems. Boy were we wrong. The installer was professional and arrived at the appointed time. However the door arrived with the wrong finish hinges. We ordered dark oil rubbed bronze hardware. The door handles arrived in the correct finish. But the installed installed bright brass hinges. We called the company to point out that the hinges should match the handles. That was verified by the installer. We were told by the company rep on the phone that dark oiled bronze hinges were an extra cost. Wow! Talk about ridiculous. The contract called for oiled bronze hardware. Hinges are part of the hardware package we ordered. Who would imagine an expensive door installation with bright brass hinges and dark oiled bronze handles. We refused to pay the installer for the door installation when he was finished until this issue was resolved. The company apparently reconsidered. About two weeks later after several telephone call demands from them for payment, the company agreed to replace the bright brass hinges with oil bronzed hinges. Now they are replaced correctly. There was a second problem with the installation as well. The installer had installed a raw wood support under the outside of the doorsill. We had specifically asked the salesman that the outside door installation would be weatherproof and no maintainence, since the whole reason for replacing the door was because of wood rot. The salesman assured us that everything would be capped and no maintenance. We called the company to complain about the raw wood, and sent several emails to the salesman. The company repeatedly told us that the raw wood installation was proper and that full payment was expected. We then carefully reviewed our contract and noticed that the contract expressly required an aluminum sill support. We pointed out the contract requirement to the company. It is now a month and one-half after door installation. So far we have not received any confirmation from the company or salesman that they agree to finish our door with an aluminum sill support as explicitly agreed to in our contract. It is shocking to us that this dealer of famous quality Anderson products would treat us so poorly. By the way, we never received any communication from the company during this entire process whether we were satisfied with their work, or if not, why not. This seems to speak volumes that this dealer does not care whatsoever about customer service. Based upon our 30 year experience of hiring numerous contractors to perform services, both recommended in Angie's List and not, we can honestly say that this has been the worst service we have received from a dealer of reputable products. Don't do business with this company.

We received and accepted a proposal for Renewal by Andersen to replace 10 windows and install one storm door in July. Within days we had an appointment for a representative to come and measure. Although he arrived sooner than expected, he was in and out of the house in short order, and the measurements went to the factory. With an estimated 1.5 days to complete the job, Dale and his two associates arrived on the early side of the 7:30-9:30 window and got right to work replacing 10 windows. Within minutes, our old windows were out and work began to install the new units. One person installed the windows, ensuring that they fit and operated as they should. Another person cut, bent, and installed new flashing around the windows, and a third person caulked the seams. Two workers, including Dale, began work on the storm door while their colleague finished caulking and began cleaning up. Overall, the workers were professional. Drop cloths were placed to ensure that any debris was easily removed, and all trash was removed. The job was complete within one day. The quality of the materials is excellent.

Renewal by Andersen is an exceptional company and is now the standard by which a measure any other contractor or company I hire. Ed's sales pinch was low pressure and left us with no questions unanswered. He also gave many different ways to complete the project, we just happened to choose doing all the windows at once. Ed came to our house and then we went to the showroom, where we were so impressed we ended up buying a new door as well. The entire team at Renewal by Andersen was incredibly professional and helpful. The door install team left my house looking better than when they arrived, not a single piece of debris was left anywhere. They did accidently break a outdoor light covering from the vibrations, but had a plan for it to be replaced before I even knew is was broken. The window team was two amazing, hardworking young men. They were incredible. My husband was out of town for this work and when he came back the only thing different was the new windows. No debris anywhere, no fingerprints, no damage to anything and I had heard horror stories about the destruction window replacement can reap. The job was scheduled for 3 days and they completed it in 2!! As far as the quality of the product, it is unbelievable. We have raised the AC two degrees, we no longer hear the planes roaring overhead or a single car door. Our house is so quiet now. The hot spots in the house have been eliminated, much to the chagrin of my dog, who with the old windows would sun himself. The light comes in, but the heat is left outside. Customer service is exceptional. I had no need to call them, but they checked in with me each day to see how the installation was going. Renewal by Andersen is awesome and I already have plans to purchase two new doors next summer.

Salesman knowledgeable, acknowledged my preferences, helped plan, and explained the process of ordering and installation. Installers were detail oriented, efficient and had effortless teamwork, performing the work with care, taught me how to disengage the windows to clean them.

Everything went great. Overall, I was very happy with the service. After they installed the windows one of them wasn’t working correctly. I called them about that and they came out quickly to fix the issue. They were friendly and professional. They were on time to the job and cleaned up after themselves each day. I would use this company again.

They were phenomenal. They came out took the measurements and were very professional. The price was great and we are three years out and still happy. When they came out they were quick, clean and we did not have a single problem dealing with them. I mistakenly broke the window because I opened it up inproperly while trying to clean it and they came out, fixed it and showed me how to open it properly for no charge.

Everything turned out wonderfully. I was referred to this company by my neighbor and they turned out great. The crew was very friendly and easy to work with. Everything was upfront and the prices didn?t change. I will use this company if I need them again.

Everything turned out to be fine. They came out when they said they would and cleaned up after themselves each day. They installed good hardware on my doors. I would recommend this company to anyone and will use them again if needed.

We used the Window Place several years ago to replace windows and a large sliding glass patio door. All went well then; we were pleased with the work. Both the products and installation have been problem free. EXCEPT... The lock to our patio door broke. We called the Window Place, who contacted the manufacturer of the door. WP had a new lock sent to us free of charge. My husband tried to install the lock and was unsuccessful. The WP said they could install for their minimum hourly fee, but that we could probably find a handyman to do it cheaper! We went with the Window Place installation, which was not easy (made my husband feel better!), but was successful in the end.

They did a beautiful job. They did everything we wanted. They are wonderful windows and they look great. They were very informative on what choices we had. They didn't push anything at all and were very professional. We were very happy with them and would recommend them to anybody. They were very responsive and they finished the job in just a couple of days. They cleaned up very well after themselves.

I really like them. They cut out our fuel cost by about 20%. It's a big national company, they make very energy efficient windows. We went to their showroom to pick out the color and the exact style of window to match our house. Everything went very well with one minor exception, the guys that came to take out the old windows, got their before the new windows arrived. So in December it can be cold, but that was the only error, the timing of getting the windows in. We have been very happy with them since then.

The rep was wonderful but I decided to go with a different firm. The windows by Andersen are fine for composite windows but they are still don't look like or sound like wood.

This is the third time we have used Renewal by Anderson. Approximately 5-7 years ago we had all our windows replaced; 3-5 years ago it was two octagonal windows (again through a brick wall) on either side of fireplace. It has mostly been the same people every time (Ed Richardson was our sales rep all three times) which to me is always a good sign, no high turnover. They work to get the look you want, they pay attention to detail, show up and on time, are professional and curteous. What more could you want. Are they a bit pricey? Yes, but you get a quality product that the company stands behind. One example, when our windows were replaced several years ago they had come out with a relatively new color (canvas) and did not have locks/pulls to match, so white ones were installed. Ed promised once canvas locks/pulls were produced he would have them replaced. He was ture to his word. Highly recommend this business.

They were excellent, first rate! They came on time and did what they contracted to do. They cleaned up afterthemselves. When they were done they hadn't painted over the small nail marks over the doors. Tey had to put in a new threshold that wasn't stained. They came right out and did all of that with no questions or extra charge when I called.

They did a really good job. They gave me a really good price and I even got some discounts as well. The installers were very quick. They came and installed everything in one or two days. Their caulking was all very neat even though some of the work was a little challenging. They are good windows and I would definitely recommend them.

It was a good experience. They were right on time and sent their head guy out to do the work. He was very good.

They did a great job. They measured accurately and installed when they promised they would, including the first time in a snowstorm. We had them replace half of the windows at one time, and the second half several years later. We happened to have the same sales representative each time, and we were very happy. They worked efficiently, and the windows have been very good. They cleaned up thoroughly, and they did not leave any mess. We were thrilled with their work and would use them again.

I did business with the president himself and was very pleased with the whole operation. I would recommend them as they have the best windows.

They were great. I thought the clean up job that they did was remarkable since all of the installation was done from inside of my home. Everything was beautifully done. Everyone on the crew was very professional. I give them A's all up and down the line.

I had the most wonderful experience with Joe, the gentleman who came out to paint the door following the installation. He spent eight hours painstakingly painting the door so that it would be absolutely perfect. He did just the right amount of coats and was extremely careful not get the paint anywhere it was not supposed to be. He was respectful of my home and never blasted loud music. He took his time and he did an amazing job. It is unfortunate that craftsmanship like Joe's is hard to find. I felt that since Renewal By Andersen took the time to find and hire a gentleman like Joe then they are a good company.
