We had windows on one side of the house replaced. These are actually inserts, so in fact the size of the window is reduced by the width of the frame. Overall, the loss of light wasn't that great because the windows are much clearer and higher quality than what we had, but the concept wasn't made clear to us when we signed up for the service. The windows themselves are terrific. We've had them for a year now, through the remainder of last summer, all through winter, and now through to early summer this year. They are a dramatic improvement over what we had before, and they seem to be better than what we've seen at other homes where they had similar service performed. People who come to visit make similar observations. I am sure we may have received a slightly better price if we bargained a bit harder. Still, on a per-window basis, we paid a similar amount as our neighbors, and it does seem like we got better windows. The service itself was performed by Vytex - the same company that manufactures the windows. So NuHome didn't really do anything - they just made the sale. Vytex makes their windows in Maryland, and has their own installers (contractors) who perform the job. The installer was very good, and did the work remarkably fast - and well. The work looks good, the windows are set perfectly, and they have been performing well for a year now. Overall, I can easily recommend Vytex windows, and the installer who put them in for us. They are also the ones who actually guarantee the windows and the work performed. I can't really say anything about NuHome, because they really just made the sale.

The installation went very well. The crew showed up on-time if not early. They removed the old roof and installed the new one all in one day. They brought plenty of folks to ensure the job was not only done fast but correctly. As part of our full renovation, we've dealt with tons of contractors many of which don't live up to our expectations. NuHome was a breath of fresh air. We plan our turning to them for other work as we move forward.

The installation was performed in an efficient manner. I was impressed the windows were installed so easily (or made to seem so). The installers were personable & trust-worthy. I had to coordinate removal of security bars before the installation. Security bar work was successfully accomplished by a different vendor [Federal City Iron]. I mention this because it added to the budget of this home improvement project. Four months in, the contemporary windows work very well & I'm satisfied with my choice.

Received a call immediately after sending an email and an appointment was set up. Received a call about the afternoon of the appointment telling me that the sales rep was in traffic. the sales rep arrived about 30 minutes past the set time. The sales rep was pleasant and seemed knowledgeable as he explained the company to me and that their goal was customer service. After telling me why their window was better than anyone else he worked up a price that was almost twice what another company quoted me. I told him this and after he went to his car for a moment, he said that he was authorized to reduce the price approximately in half to meet the other company's price based on installing a different window. I wanted to do research about the two different windows that each company presented but he exerted pressure to sign a contract immediately. I again stated I was not being pressured to sign and he left.

We were very happy with the work NuHome did. They offered us a competitive price from the beginning and were willing to negotiate because we were a Angie's List member. They were flexible with scheduling and were able to come and install the doors on a weekend, which was important to us since we both work and are unavailable during the day. The men who came and did the work were professional and did a great job. We have had no issues with the doors since they were installed two months ago.

I had a great experience starting with Peter, the young man that knocked on my door to ask me if I would like an estimate on roof replacement. Casey Beedle was very prompt for appointments and patient and understanding especially when I was late for a couple of the appointments. He explained pricing and financing options to me. I decided to get all of the work done. The appointment setters were courteous and professional. The roof was replaced first. I left home in the morning and came home to a beautiful new roof. Next came the patio door, the trim wrap and the gutters. The whole process took less than three weeks. All of the people that I interacted with were very courteous and professional. I am satisfied with the quality of work and definitely recommend NuHome Exteriors.

Clarence and the entire team at NuHome was very responsive from start to finish. They quickly turned around a proposal within my budget and answered all questions. I requested them to check for any leaks or rotten wood and they reported that the sills were still in good shape. They worked well with the tenant (taking measurements and arranging a time to have the windows installed). They completed the work on time and as promised. Very happy with the price and high level of professionalism.

Getting the work scheduled was a little sluggish, but once the ball got rolling, the work started and was done well. Robert in the office is fantastic to deal with. However, in the complaint department, when the workers first arrived, they were very aggressive in ringing the doorbell to get us to come to the door and no one on the crew spoke any English (or not fluent enough to have a conversation). The workers also were slightly careless about some of our personal property. However, the company made things right by replacing or fixing damaged items. The site supervisor (when at the job) was accommodating and easy to work with, and again, the office staff were as friendly and helpful as could be. I'd recommend them, but as with just about any contractor, you need to stay on top of them and pay close attention when they are at your home working on stuff.The actual work seems to be high quality and looks great.

It was wonderful! They did an excellent job! The project manager, Manier, was a wonderful and great guy! He continued to drop by to see how the project was coming along and was on top of it.

They had a subcontractor come do the install. The guy was great! He came in and did the windows neat and fast. He showed up on time. It worked out great!

The company has a good system where they had someone (Mark) who came out and gave me an estimate of what it would cost me to replace the gutters and wrap the trim with vinyl. I had budgeted for only half of the overall trim and gutters and that is what they performed. All good, they were prompt and kept to their schedule, and in fact got the job done in a remarkably short time. As far as their pricing goes, I'm sure that shopping around would have saved me at least 20-30% of what I paid them but as far as the overall experience goes it was good, The quality of work will have to stand the test of time before that can be assessed, however I would recommend them to anyone who needs such a job done.

They worked with me extremely professionally and responsibly. The turnaround between measurements and instal was very quick. The installers were so good, we wanted Nu Home to send us the same crew at each instal. They were clean, professional, and quick. I have not had a single problem with the new windows and they look fantastic. I would recommend this company to anyone.

We live in a unique house that has cement walls on the outside that is covered with stone veneer. Every window company we talked with could not understand my concern about how they would install the windows without damaging the outside of the house or the wood on the inside. We ended up doing it their way. They didn’t put the windows back into the space that the old windows came in. They put them overtop and filled in around so we ended up with smaller windows and smaller window sills. I was disappointed. They just didn’t want to do the extra work in installing the windows. I showed them exactly where the new windows needed to be installed on the house. The new windows are an inch smaller all the way around and sat on the wood on the interior of the house. They filled and covered the space on the outside where the old windows were. They would have either had to take the veneer off the outside or the wood off the inside to install the windows properly. They never gave me the option to do what I wanted. They just said the installers would do it right. I went through the same thing with six other window companies. They sounded like they were the best of them which is why we went with them. We used to have flower pots on our window ledge and now we don’t have the ledge. I was also concerned about the effect the new windows would have on our plants and now our plants won’t flower because they’re not getting the right sunlight. I can’t say if another company would have been any better. They all said that the windows would not hurt our plants.

Their service was very good. They got it all done in one day. The workers they used were very professional. They didn’t leave a mess. Everything was done really well. The hauled away the other windows. The new ones are standing up quite well.

It was fine. They were reliable, they did a good job and it came right in on budget.

I was reluctant to hear a sales pitch but I resigned to the inevitable fact that I needed to replace my drafty, builders grade windows. The sales person was not at all pushy and showed me everything that I wished to see. Not just the most expensive windows. I ended up only replacing 1/2 of my windows in my home (11 total) with their windows which are custom made locally. The service techs were punctual, neat and courteous! As soon as my budget allows, I will be SURE to use them again to finish the rest of my windows. I HIGHLY recommend them!

They were good. They were efficient, responsive, quick and we were satisfied with their service. They've come back when we've had any issues and resolved any problems we have noticed.

I didn’t use them. They came around and made a pitch, which was fine. However, I decided not to replace the windows and that’s what they were offering. I didn’t compare their estimate with anybody else. They made a sales pitch when they came out. There was nothing exceptional about them. They were on time and there was nothing unusual or special about them. They were responsive since they showed up. In the future, I will get multiple estimates. I will consider using them if they have the best estimate.

They were very reliable and did what they said they were going to do. They cleaned up after themselves and we were very satisfied. I will use them again in the future and have recommended them to others.

I was extremely nervous about being "taken", received 5 estimates one of which was NuHome Exteriors. The estimates I received ranged from $5,000 to $9400. None of these estimates were for builder-grade windows, which would have been much cheaper, but crappy. I eliminated the highest estimate right away - way too much!! The others wer all within 500-600 dollars of each other, 2 of which seemed to have a lower quality window. not quite as energy efficient as the other 2. My decision was between NuHome and another company. Mo was the sales rep/sales manager for Nu Home. He showed up at my home the same day that I called to get an estimate, and spent nearly 3 hrs explaining everything to me as this was the first time I've had to replace wundows and had limited knowledge of the different types, grades of windows. My decision was made based on the presentation and detailed explanation of the different features, amount of energy saving that I would receive with different window choices. He also agreed to lower the original estimate to work within my budget. I chose their mid-grade window which was the same as the high grade window from the other company I was considering. I guess you could say I got a high-grade window for a mid-grade price. After I decided on Nu Home, the next day the window manufacturer (Vytex) called to arrange time for final measurements to be taken. I was told that it would take approximately 4-6 weeks for windows to be ready. That was pretty much what 4 companies told me, one said 8 weeks. Much to my surprise, I got a call 3 weeks later telling me my windows were ready to be installed! They had availability the next week and I set the date for installation on 3/8/11. The windows are manufactured locally, whereas atleast a few of the others were made out-of-state. I guess that made it a little faster along with the fact that I ordered them in February which is a slower time for window companies. The time I was given for installation was between 9 and 11 AM. The truck arrived at 8:50am!! I was pleasantly surprised that things would get started early. There was only 1 installer, which I was a little surprised at, immediately started thinking "this might not be good". However, my fears were quickly put to rest when I started watching him work. He was incredibly efficient, had obviously done this MANY times before! He was like a well-oiled machine - removed the windows without difficulty (even though I had been told by the other companies that removal of old aluminum windows was a nightmare). Then one by one carried each window in - up and down 1-2 flights of stairs - and wasn't even sweating!! (atleast not that I could see!) He applied the foam insulation, calking perfectly - no spaces, everything looked great! Just as he was finishing (about 7 hrs later), I noticed that there was no capping under the upper windows - something I had discussed with MO. Installer informed me that this was not listed on the work-order and he needed permission to do it. He said he would call his boss at Vytex, but just at that moment, Mo arrived to check how things were going (as he told me he would). I explained the situation to Mo, he said that he misunderstood that I wanted the capping and did not include it on the order. I was upset, as this really affected the look of the window (original aluminum trim was old and damaged). Mo agreed to include it, gave the installer permission to proceed. That poor man was ready to go home, I'm sure, but he stayed another 45 min to an hour to expertly cut the pieces for capping 4 upper level windows. He didn't seem put-out, was very professional and did a great job. It really made a huge difference covering up that old junk. The windows look wonderful and work like a dream! We've had 2 heavy rainstorms/rainy days since I got the new windows and not a drop of water anywhere! I also see a big difference in the inside temperature of the house - no more drafts!! I'm very happy with the product and the very professional, high-quality installation. I would definitely recommend NuHome for window replacement! By the way, the windows have a lifetime warrantee transferrable to multiple owners, not just one.

We had a NuHome representative stop by the neighborhood one evening and we were actually in the market for new windows. A sales representative, Mournir came to our home for a presentation and an estimate. Mournir was extremely knowledgeable about the products and more importantly the window industry. Just as importantly, he was thorough and friendly. The demonstration and the fact that NuHome has great ratings from the Better Business Bureau and Angie?s List sold us. Within a week we had a gentleman out to measure our windows and three weeks after that we had our windows. Our windows were made locally in Maryland and we felt great for going with a local company! The installation process went so smoothly and I could not believe how great everything looked in just a day. The installers came in and left with the only evidence of them being there were our new beautiful windows. We have already seen an impact in our electric bills and we no longer have the bitter cold drafts that we experienced in previous years. The first cold weekend we were able to get our house 5 degrees warmer in just a half hour - it took us hours in the past with our drafty metal windows! We are so glad that we went with NuHome ? they were easy to deal with, had great customer service, the installers were so professional, they are local, and best of all we ended up with efficient, functional, beautiful windows! We highly recommend them to anyone in the market for windows.

The sales process was a bit heavy on the sales-y elements: "What's it going to take to put you in these windows today?" is not much of an exaggeration. I had researched both the company and the windows they sell, and knew I wanted to go with them, but was unsure about the price. When he said, "What price will it take?", I named an absurdly low figure. After an hour of (actually pleasant) back-and-forth, he came remarkably close to that price. I made a deposit, and was told to expect the windows in six to eight weeks. Instead, we got a call in about two weeks saying they were ready to schedule us. Ultimately, we scheduled the install for roughly three weeks after signing the agreement. They arrived early (7:30-ish), and got directly to work. Two respectful men, both obviously professional and focused, had most of the windows removed in the first half of the day. For the second half of the day, new windows were installed where no frame work was required. That afternoon and through the next day, they did the framing needed and hung the new windows, then carefully caulked both interior and exterior, fixing some unrelated problems along the way. The whole thing was done, cleaned up, and working perfectly at the end of the second day, with one exception. On the third day, we had torrential rain. When I opened the new screen door the next morning, water splashed into the house from the top of the door. I called them, saying I was heading out of town but I'd like somebody to see what's going on. I got a call back within 1/2 hour, and a somebody had the door fixed within a couple of days. Terrific service, great follow-up; whatever concerns I had about NuHome as a service company were put to rest.

Our experience with this company went very very well. They came out on time and the installation crew was very professional. They would show and explain everything that they were doing to us and made sure we knew why they were doing the work.
