Overall, I was satisfied with the service I received from Tractors Plus Outdoor Power. In March 2011, I placed a service request via e-mail. I received a return e-mail stating that the next available appointment was 4/5/2011 from 9 AM - 5 PM. A 1 hour minimum charge of $89.00 was required in order to reserve the appointment. I scheduled the appointment for 4/05/2011. A confirmation e-mail was sent to me. On the date of the scheduled appointment, the technician arrived at 12:45 PM and finished at 1:15 PM. He knocked on the door and I spoke with him briefly regarding the service I had requested. He was aware that I needed the pull cord replaced, but I am not sure if he knew that I also needed the annual "summertime" maintenance performed. In the end, all of the requested services were performed. When he was done, he knocked on the door and let me know that he was finished. I did not recieve an service invoice. I know that this company was in the process of transitioning to an entirely mobile service and I think that their computer system might have been down on this particular day. I received a bill in the mail for the ammount of $16.81 for the additional expense that was not covered by my deposit. I will use this company in the future should the need arise. PROS CONVENIENT - They come to your house so you don't have to lug your lawnmower to a shop to get it serviced; Also, you do not need to be at home for the appointment (I prefer to be there to avoid any miscommunications). QUALITY - If you are there for the appointment, you know the work is actually being done because you can watch them. PRICE - The price seemed reasonable compared to what I have paid in the past at other shops. CONS 1. RESPONSIVENESS VIA THE TELEPHONE - I had a difficult time reaching them by telephone. When I called, the phone just rang off the hook. I arranged everything via e-mail. 2. WIDE WINDOW FOR APPOINTMENT TIME - When I scheduled the appointment time, the window was between "9 AM - 5 PM". I you want to be there for the appointment, you better plan on taking the whole day off.

I called Tractor's Plus because they have a mobile unit or truck that makes house calls. The self propel system had stopped working on my Toro lawn mower. On the intial phone call the representative told me that a belt might have burned up and may need to be replaced. I scheduled an appointment and they told me that they would be in contact once they had a chance to check their calendar. A couple of minutes later they called back and asked if they could come out that same day. Unfortunately, no one was available to get the lawn mower out of storage and leave it where it was accessible. They later sent me an email confirmation with the appointment scheduled for the next day. Towards the end of the following day I called back to see how things went and they told me that the problem was just dried up grass that had fouled up the propel system. They removed the grass which seemed to have fixed the propel system. I have to admit that I was a little upset that I had to pay almost $100 for them to clean my lawn mower but that was no fault of theirs. Although I thought my mower was fairly clean I guess grass can get places that need special care to remove. Everything went smoothly, they were very professional and the lawn mower seems to be working correctly. I chaulk this up as a lesson learned and I will be sure to check and clean everything I possibly can before calling a professional. Their service is convenient and I would use them again should the need arise.

I brought in a mower that would not start. Estimate was $85 and four days. Job performed at estimate, on schelue. Aslo adjusted/fixed minor problems. Very satisfied.

They promised that they would get it back to me by Friday (before the big snow storm) and they did get it get it to me. When I got home I found that one of the handles to tighten the screw holding the folding handle was broken off. I tried to move the snow, but the handle kept folding up on me. I had to remove the bolts, remove the handle and pound it back to the correct shape . I took the the handle and bolt off the chute and used them to wold the handle. I replaced the bolt holding the chute with another bolt and clamped it in place. When ever I wanted to change the angle of the chute I needed pliers and a wrench.

Came very quickly (within a couple hours) of arranging an appointment on line. Unique business plan: they come to your house so you don't have to load your mower into the car/truck and haul it to the shop. Repair technician Shirley (sp?) was thoroughly knowledgeable, skillful and efficient. Fixed both mowers in about 45 minutes. Appears to have been more familiar with the John Deere mower that he fixed than the repair tech at the John Deere dealer had been.

I chose this company in large part because they have a vehicle equipped as a mobile service facility and can perform certain repairs on the customer's site instead of requiring the equipment to be transported to a repair facility (and their Angie's List ratings were good). The service was convenient, cost-effective, and performed in a timely manner. The only hitch in the process was some lack of communication as to when they would actually come out to do the work. I found out on the morning they actually came out, and then only because I called that morning to find out whether they had scheduled my job; I was told that the service technician was en route. Had I not called, and had I not been at home that morning, their trip would have been wasted.

They were slow in their work but the end result was good. Their pricing was good and the quality of their work was very good. I was satisfied with their work.

They were a little slow in telling me what the problem was, but they were responsive when I gave them a call. They were the closest vendor who dealt with chainsaws that are in my area. I feel that the cost was fair. They did not call me back within the 7 days that they promised me, but the saw is fixed and it stayed fixed. Every one was courteous and polite.

Ken did a good job, was on site when he said he would be there and repaired tractor and vacuum. Also provided an estimate on the parts needed to fix the chipper.

Ken has come to my house for 2 years now. We have a John Deere tractor, self propelled mower and a snow blower. They come to your house with a full service van and do the work onsite. Very professional, very clean and the prices are reasonable. If your not at home you can leave the mower(s) in your driveway. Their website is very informative plus you can actually schedule a visit by clicking on their calendar and setting it up. The business card states they service from Purcelleville, Va to Great Falls, Reston and much more. I would highly recommend them. Make sure when checking on internet for company.
