Next Day Blinds - Fairfax

I was pregnant and on bed rest and desperate to get some window coverings before the baby was born. I scheduled an in-home consultation through the website, and the representative showed up as scheduled. I selected the shades I wanted, and the representative measured my windows, took the initial deposit and scheduled a day/time for the installation. It ended up being the day (or maybe it was the day after) we brought the baby home from the hospital (early delivery), but they were still able to install the shades with minimal disruption. We got double honeycomb cellular shades with the top-down feature, but for two windows, the measurements were off as they didn't allow for the casing the cords were in. They had to return twice before getting it right for those two windows, but they were very fast in turnaround time, and there was really minimal disruption to us as they have such extended hours for installation.

I called Next Day Blinds in Central Park, Fredericksburg, VA to ask about their services. I told the rep that I was a new home owner and needed window treatments throughout my house. The representative advised she could come to my home to take measurements and give me some ideas of what could be done. We scheduled an appointment for 5 pm on Friday. I wasted my time off from work waiting for her. After an hour I gave up waiting and went outside to do yard work which I had to finish in the rain. She called at 7:10 pm from the store, but I missed the call. She called from her cell at 7:27 pm, which I just missed, and immediately returned the call. She apologized for missing the appt., saying she was busy with another customer. She offered no explanation of why it took her more than two hours to call. She said she could reschedule for 9 am on Saturday as she passed right by my house on the way to the store which opened at 10 am. I told her I had some errands to run, the next morning, but I would be there at 9 am. She was very friendly and chatty both times I spoke to her, but that doesn't excuse the fact that I wasted my time, and put off my teenagers who cleaned and vacated their rooms for nothing--and they weren't happy about getting up early on a Sat. morning, either. On Sat. morning, we had a bad storm, so I called "Lynn" on her cell phone to ask if she needed to cancel the appointment. She was obviously still home, but she said she was on her way and would arrive in a few minutes. Again, my children and I waited for over an hour. At 10:10 I called Lynn again, and she said she was at the store and the computers were out and she had a repairman there working on them. I asked why hadn't she called me? I got nothing but silence, so I told her I wasn't interested in doing business with anyone who doesn't value my time. Exactly four minutes later she was on my door-step and had the nerve to ask if I wanted to do the service now. I told her no, that I was on my way out. I wondered what she thought when she saw that my house has about 40 windows. She apologized for being late because the back room of the store was flooded. I said sorry for your loss, but that doesn't excuse the fact that she stood me up, again, without calling. I was thinking even more than ever that I wouldn't do business with a store whose materials were all wet. She said, "but I came out here in all this rain!" I told her to run along so she wouldn't get any more wet.

They were professional and nice with the estimate, measuring and installations. My only complaint was that it took a bit longer to get them in place than what I had hoped.

My overall experience was very good. Actually, it was a guy at the local store who suggested I call the shop at home because of what I wanted done. He said it would be faster if I went through that. I would recommend them and use them again.

The whole service was great and it all went very well.

I visited the store to pick out the shades I wanted. I was encouraged to take home several samples of shade colors, and an appointment was scheduled for someone to come out and measure. They accommodated my scheduling preferences for day and time. At the same time they also scheduled the installation for a week after the measurements. They phoned me with confirmations also. Both the measurer and the installer were on time, quick and efficient. This was easy!

They were not able to give me exactly what I wanted. My windows seem to be too wide for anything they could provide. They would not come out to my home to measure unless I had picked out what I wanted and paid them.

We went to the Next Day Blinds store to pick out the blinds. Everyone at the store was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The store sent a technician to our house within a week to measure for the blinds and another technician came just one week later to install the blinds. Both technicians arrived on time and were professional, fast and neat. The blinds look great and were definitely worth the money.

The work was completed when they said it would be. The shutters looked great thanks to the excellent workmanship that Next Day Blinds offers. I also felt the price for the job was in line with the normal cost.

I have used them in the past; they have now covered all 13 windows in my home. They provide measuring services; A lot of other companies do not include that with the service. I have been pleased with the end results. I would call them in the future for window treatments.

I think Next Day Blinds did a very nice job. Their quality of work was wonderful and they were very quick to get the job done. I was very happy with the result and would recommend them highly.

I like the fact that they don't charge extra to do the measuring for you. You can measure yourself but if you get the measurements wrong than you are stuck with what you ordered. I got the blinds to defuse light coming in my kitchen windows but to not totally block out the light. They are very helpful in helping you get the right kind of blinds. The blinds are good quality. They arrive when they say they will and do what they say they will do.

They were very professional and quick.

I only rate Next day blinds with a "B" for "quality of work" because of the mistake first time. The "quality of work" on the second installation rates an A+, I really like the way my blinds look now. Most of all I give the company an A+ for the way they responded to my complaint.

At the store in Rockville, Vonnie was helpful in describing my options and found samples to take home (Hunter-Douglas should have color samples to give away). I was a bit surprised that I had to put down a 50% deposit to have someone come home to measure and determine the exact price based on the sizes of the window (I had walked in primarily to get the samples and book an appointment). The cost and deposit were based on my guesses as to the sizes of the windows. The measuring guy came during the scheduled window, was precise in describing the mounting options, and worked quickly. The installation guy came during the scheduled window, called ahead, and installed everything quickly. The shades are as ordered, and the company was punctual. The shades are not cheap, despite the various discounts claimed by NDB. They were service wise and did an excellent job.

Originally we went to a Next Day Blinds store to order. We were unable to get help from the in store employees. We were able to look over the stock and get an idea of what we wanted. After wasting 3 hours going from store to store, we went home discouraged. When we checked online, we found out about the Shop at Home option. We scheduled an appointment online which was met well within the scheduled time. The installation once again was done in a timely and professional manner. I would definitely call Lyn for help in the future.

The staff person was friendly, efficient, & I felt comfortable taking time to make my decisions. The measurer & installer both arrived when expected, was efficient and nice. The wait for the materials was weeks - next day it ain't! The kitchen blinds are attractive and sturdy. But the two-way shade has not been what I had hoped - it had to be restrung. Since it was within 3 years of purchase it was free. But now, a couple of years later, the strings don't work again, and it will cost $75. Also, light leaks around the top and sides of this "black-out" shade, so I have thin curtain panels as well. Disappointing. So, my experience with them is an odd mix of great and not good. Perhaps the strings on two-way shades wear out faster, but they should last longer than mine.

The representative showed up on time, was excellent to work with and was very knowledgeable about options. The installers arrived on time as promised, and did an excellent job. When the representative comes to the house it takes longer than next day, but that was ok since they were all custom sizes, and still took less than 2 weeks from order to installation. Couldn't be more pleased.

We have high standards and were very satisfied with our experience, and even more so now that we have had the shutters and blinds for a few months. The advice of the measurer was 100% good, and we couldn't be happier with our investment. The quality and workmanship are excellent, and we were able to get them matched to the exact color of our walls. They also gave us temporary shades to use while we waited. It did take a few weeks, contrary to what the name ''Next Day'' implies, but it was definitely worth the wait.

This company really is first rate from the time you place the order until they leave following installation. The salesperson was incredibly helpful in describing and showing exactly what all the options were for the shutters. Within 48 hours of placing the order, we were scheduled for a FIRM TIME to have our windows measured. We were given a FIRM DATE for completion of construction. We were then given a FIRM DATE and TIME for installation. Installation on the last 10 shutters was completed in about 1 1/2 hours---and each window was perfect. The workers were courteous and very conscientious. I have six more windows to do and I absolutely, positively, without question will use Kingstowne Next Day Blinds for those shutters as well. I cannot say enough good things about them. They are an absolute pleasure to do business with.

Very good experience. It was easy to set up an appointment. The salesperson was on time and very helpful. The installer was on time and did a really nice job. The installer found a problem with a couple of the blinds and he arranged to have them replaced. We are very pleased with the service.

They did a great job measuring the windows and they were easy to install. They have held up well and are easy to use and maintain. The people were professional and easy to work with.

They offered good quality work at a responsible price. They custom made the blinds to our window. They did a good job showing us a variety of options that would work for us.

I WAS REAL IMPRESSED WITH THE COMPANY. THEY CAME IN AND DID WHAT THEY HAD TO DO IN A TIMELY MANNER. CLEANED UP THEIR MESS WELL. THE INSTALLATION PROCESS WAS GREAT AND THE BLINDS FUNCTION WELL.
