+ -1 moreOverall, the blinds looks good on the surface. However, after everything, my thoughts are that I had paid too much for what I got. My issues with the blinds: 1) The quality of the roller shades did not match what I thought I was getting. For example, the cord for the roller shades was plastic and looked cheap. 2) I requested for remote controlled shades with solar panels because the sales person indicated that I could control it with an app on my smart phone. The installer told me that he had never heard of that. 3) The solar panels for the shades are put in place with double sided tape! One keeps falling off. 4) No two motors for the shades are the same, which means that if you have two shades that are side by side on the same remote setting, they will each go up and down at different speeds. I have no issues with the shutters, they look and work great.

I purchased in-home installation because I would not have otherwise installed the shades in a timely manner, but it looked easy enough to DIY. One shade was duplicated twice so the tech took it back and processed a replacement order and second install.
Description of Work: NDB rep came to my home with product samples and took measurements in six rooms (free service - I highly recommend this no-fail option). Sales rep provided five estimates by email with the different product combinations (I replaced mini-blinds with top-down/bottom-up honeycomb shades in different finishes which generated different fees). Sales rep honored the Angie's List discount and a bit more upon further request.

+ -1 moreOrdering at the store was simple - the sales agent helped us pick out the right blinds and gave us color samples to take home. A few days later a service person arrived to measure our windows. Another week later they installed the blinds. As it turned out, we have a locking mechanism on the windows which interfered with smoothly raising and lowering the blinds. A few days later Next Day Blinds called to follow up with us to determine if we were satisfied. I mentioned the concern about the interfering locking mechanism. They sent a senior quality control inspector who determined that a different kind of blind with a narrower profile would resolve the problem. Next Day Blinds replace the blinds at no additional cost and we are now very happy with the result.

+ -1 moreWe visited the Alexandria retail store for Next Day Blinds since we had previously had a good experience at this store. The sales consultant in the store was very knowledgable about the products and was able to help us choose the product that was right for us. We chose the duofold honeycomb black out shades for all the windows in our bedrooms. We love the duofold feature so that we can let light into the rooms without giving up any privacy. Our home is almost 100 years old and there is not a square corner anywhere in our house...so I was curious to see just how accurate the measurements would be for our windows. I am extremely pleased with the quality of the product, the fit of the shades in our windows and the ease with which the entire process was completed. The time between our in store visit and when our shades were installed was very short. I would recommend Next Day Blinds to anyone who wants quality window treatments with minimal fuss during the selection, measuring and installation process.

+ -1 moreThe salesperson was very knowledgeable and helpful and I couldn't believe how quick the process was to select and purchase what I wanted. The installation was terrific. The installer was professional and clearly knew his work. He offered me a suggestion about the way the head of the blind would be installed and I took his advice. That ended up being the right choice. He was fast too. He left me his card and encouraged me to call if I had questions or if there were any issues with the blinds or the installation. Best of all, the blinds look terrific against the new paint scheme. We have had numerous raves about them from family and other visitors. All in all a really great experience. We are planning to get additional blinds for some of our other rooms in the next month or so.

+ -1 moreNext Day Blinds was very responsive when i called them, offering to come out right away to measure and help me determine the best options for my windows. They came out and discussed options and pricing, gave me an estimate within a day or two, and made sure all my questions were answered and my timeline was met. The people that have come out have always been very friendly and knowledgable and shown up on time. This company goes above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction. They actually have taken a shade back from me that was over 10 years old that had worn over the years and the string had broken, and they fixed it for me free of charge. Last year i had them install 5 shades to match some others in my house and when i was concerned that the color may have been slightly different, they offered to do them over if I had any doubts. I would go back to this company anytime that i need blinds, shades or shutters for my house.

+ -1 moreI ordered the vanes on Sept 19. As their name implies, they come the next business day. Well, they didn't come for seven business days, after I had to call and follow-up. Lynn, the Asst Mgr, was helpful. When I called to see if they were in, she immediately called to find out what happened. She called me back quickly and told me 'I don't know what happened but they will be here tomorrow', which they were. So I finally received the vanes on Fri, Sept 28th. However, 2 of the vanes were the wrong size (luckily I had 2 extra so I didn't need them) and the valance was missing from the box. Once again I spoke with Lynn, once again she said 'I don't know what happened but I will reorder the valance and it will be here on Oct 2'. I called the store on Oct 3 and the valance was still not in. Mark, who answered the phone, called to find out what happened. He promptly called me back and told me it would be there tomorrow. So in summary, the sales reps at the showroom were helpful. The problem seemed to be somewhere between them ordering my parts and the parts arriving to the store in time. Because the sales reps were able to quickly solve my problem, I would use them again - but knowing I would have to follow up.
Description of Work: I had installed vertical blinds 10 years ago from Next Day Blinds in Arlington. Many of the vanes had broken and I was still under the 10 year warranty. The service was to provide me new replacement vanes and valance.

+ -1 moreThis was a several step process, not literally "next day", but the service was terrific. I booked an appointment on line and the representative was professional and helpful. She was very good at guiding me in my selection, giving options and advice, without being the least bit pushy. A separate appoinment was needed to measure some of the windows, which are very high up. Again, the representative was prompt, professional, and worked quickly. Finally, installation was on time and and went very smoothly. Very pleasant installer and the blinds are PERFECT and fit the windows precisely. Really, I wish every experience I had purchasing items for my home went this beautifully!
Description of Work: Next Day Blinds sent a customer service agent to my home to show me samples of different types of window blinds. We selected 2 different kinds of blinds for 9 windows. Next Day Blinds sent someone to measure the windows. Finally, Next Day Blinds provided and installed the blinds.

Because she was running late we had only a brief time because I had another appointment. She measured all the windows and helped me pick colors.Then after getting several estimates I decided to use Next Day Blinds. Debbie came out again spent more time going over all the specifics and addressing my concerns. The blinds were installed 2 days later! I'm very pleased. The price was competitive and the serve was terrific!

+ -1 moreWonderful, my only complaint is that the installers were almost 45 minutes late and did not even bother to call. I would still recommend, since they installed 22 sets of window coverings in under 2 hours :-)
Description of Work: I made the appointment online and we were given Sheri as our Design Consultant. She was very prompt and professional. She asked all the right questions trying to narrow down the choices. We chose white faux blinds on the first floor, an accordian honeycomb style treatment for the sliding glass door, the Savannah shadings in the bedroom and the honeycomb shades in the master bathroom. Sheri made sure we got our requested install date, and we could not be happier. They really do make all the difference in the world. I would recommend Sheri to anyone who asked !! I even took a couple of her cards :-)

+ -1 moreWe utilized the show room located at 308 Worth Avenue in Stafford, VA. The design staff was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. The entire transaction was extremely smooth and quick. We knew going in that we were looking for 3/4 translucent honeycomb shades with handles for lift and the top down/bottom up style. The pricing with installation was much cheaper than previous quotes that we received at other retail establishments. The measuring and installation process went seamlessly. The installers were on time and professional. We will definitely be using Next Day Blinds for our future window treatment needs.

+ -1 moreThis review is for the NDB office located on 13600 Baltimore Ave, Laurel MD. My wife and I consulted with Macy and gave us a quote of over $2400 for 4 sky light blinds for two bedrooms, which we thought was too expensive. Macy called us back the next day and told us that she discovered the high price was due to the type of material we requested. My wife and I didn't know anything about specific materials used for these blinds. We can only rely on the sales rep, Macy. To her credit, Macy researched the issue and called us back and we found that we could use a less expensive, blackout light blind. The total cost was $1600 for the four. A time was set for a NDB employee to come out and do a precise measurement, which he did. He was quick, professional and on time. Another gentleman came out later to do the installation and did a wonderful job. They look amazing, and more importantly to us, reduced the temperature in the two bedrooms significantly. We were so pleased with the results that we just just contracted to have them install 4 traditional pull-down shades in 4 of our windows. I would recommend this location advertise or perhaps put up a big sign so people can see it from Baltimore ave.

+ -1 moreIt was an excellent experience from start to finish. Both the consultant and the installer were incredibly efficient and professional. The consultant really steered me (without pushing me) into the right decision. I booked an 8:30am appt and the consultant arrived at exactly that time. (maybe a minute or two early actually!) I thought I knew exactly what I wanted, so I was pretty certain that I was just deciding between different colors and not really deliberating other choices. I decided to go with the consultant's recommendations and am so happy that I did. I appreciated the recommendations without feeling pressure and also, it made the decisions "debate-free." My daughter was coming home from college and I wanted to get the blinds up in the bathroom as soon as possible. And one week later, the blinds/ shades were installed. At first when they schedule an installer to arrive, I was told that my time slot would be between 12 - 4p (and I was thinking, how am I ever going to get my errands done), but the company offered to call me when the installer was 1/2 hr out from arriving---that was a huge help. The installer came in, put little shoe coverings on--so he didn't track dirt, I presume. it was a great experience and hassle free--and i would do it all over again (this time for a different room of course)......
Description of Work: I made an appointment with their Next Day Blinds' Shop at Home consultant to come to my house and show me some of their window covering samples. I needed window coverings for two rooms---a bathroom (exposed to the front of the house) and a dormered bedroom. However, the consultant made some recommendations based on the type of room, the light coming into the room and the other window coverings that I had in front of the house. He made some great suggestions about how they would look from the front of the house (especially from the outside--which I hadn't really considered). He measured and made a good recommendation for mounting the blinds. Overall, I was really glad that I had someone come to the house ---I always thought my gut was pretty good but in hindsight, it was great having someone see the room and the environment --and the choices that I probably would have made, would not have made me as happy as the ones I eventually selected. I was glad he came with an expertise that helped make the process easier. I am glad that I placed my order the day the consultant came out ---and they were installed the following Saturday. The installer was professional, neat and efficient---he was able to install and adjust both rooms in less than 25 minutes. And he cleared away all the boxes and other trash (what a relief). I love my new blinds and shades--can't believe how easy (and painless) the process was and am glad that I listened to their recommendations.

+ -1 moreIt didn't go so well. We had the man come out to measure and when they came out to install, the measurements were wrong again. We had about four visits from them to get it right. We think the quality control went wrong because the people who came out were friendly. The installer could not have been nicer and he did his job well. When he went to hang them, he was frustrated because the measurements were not right. But after the fourth visit, they went in and everything is fine now. We contacted Next Day Blinds and the company owner called him personally to apologize for the poor experience that we had and he sent out a gift basket to us from an upscale grocery store. It was nice how they handled it at the end.

+ -1 morePrice were bit high but used 10% Angies List discount and they gave me a coupon from the newspaper that brought down the overall price to what I would call fair for wood shutters. The shutters are high quality and well made. They can match specific paint colors. I gave them the Behr Paint color codes/names and it matched exactly. It took about 3 weeks for them to make them and install. The only negatives I had is with the installation. They have to drill tiny screws through the wood-- 2 of my shutters were white so they were able to cover them up with white caulk and they look fantastic. My 3rd shutter was red and unfortunately there is no red caulk that can be used to cover up the screw holes. Fortunately I had some leftover paint that they were used for touchups. If I didnt have the red paint, I think it would've been problematic. My advice is to get shutters in colors that are available in caulking if you want everything perfect. But overall I am satisfied and would recommend them.

+ -1 moreThe installation was scheduled for between 12-4 on 5/17.Received call at 2:30PM saying the installer would arrive between 3-4PM. He had not arrived by 5:10PM. Called dispatch, they told me they thought he was at my home. He arrived at 5:35PM. The header on the blind is very poor quality. When asked the installer her told me that this was the basic header and I should talk to my salesperson. Did not expect nor was I told that the header would be a basic model for that amount of money.Would definitely not recommenced next day blinds.

She was exceptionally knowledgable about some of the details, including a somewhat obscure skylight screen. The blinds came in quickly and the installation was fast and efficient. Everything looks and works perfect. Prices were fair, but it was the service that really set Next Day Blinds apart.
