Had to come back and there were problems with installation. Ceilings in 1975 building were concrete and installer needed more powerfull drill. They were back in a week to complete job. Several of the small hooks which secure the blind cords have pulled out.

We had our first come completely outfitted with Next Day Blinds products. After 12-years of living with our blinds, I was very impressed with how well they lasted. The looked as new, and worked as well, after 12-years as the day we bought them. We have now moved to a new home and when it came time to get blinds, the only place I considered was Next Day Blinds. The big selling point for us was the life-time guarantee. Window treatments are a big investment and knowing that there is a company that has been around for a long time, and will be there in the future. The fact that we have experienced first hand their level of customer service was a big selling point for us. In the past, we had minor problems with our blinds, and I always knew that I could take them in and they would quickly fix them, no questions asked. This time we ended up getting 10 shades, 1 fabric roman shade, and 12 faux wood blinds. Unfortunately, we did experience some problems with one of the blinds in particular. After contacting Next Day Blinds, they went out of their way to send a technician to fix the problem for us. Life is not perfect and problems and issues will arise, what distinguishes a good company from a great one is how they handle the problems/issues when they arise. I was very impressed to the lengths that Next Day Blinds went to make it right for me. If I ever have to outfit a home with blinds again, that that I ever want to move again, Next Day Blinds will be my choice.

The sales rep was knowledgeable about the product, the shades were installed correctly, and the price was competitive. So what's the problem? The sales rep who took the order and the measurer. We spoke by phone before the sales rep came, and I urged her to arrive early or on time because parking gets to be a big issue in this neighborhood later in the day on Saturday, which was the day she wanted to come. So she came late. She kept jabbering on her cellphone to me about how terrible the parking was as she circled the block She was driving an SUV and had a lot of trouble parking it even after she had found a good-sized space, saying she wanted a place she could just pull in to. Once she was finally through the door and helped me pick out what I wanted, she wrote up the order, correctly showing that I wanted 4 shades of one type and 3 shades of a slightly different type. We scheduled a second visit for another person to measure the windows, and a third day for installation. In a few days the measurer came by to confirm her measurements. I had learned that the day of the scheduled installation there was going to be a special event in the neighborhood that was going to make parking impossible. I told the measurer all the details and he agreed to convey the message to his co-workers. The day before the scheduled installation, the sales rep called to confirm the installation. She knew nothing about the anticipated parking problem, and started to give me an 800 number to call to inform the installers. I told her no, that I thought she should call them. She did, and the installation date was rescheduled. By this time we were up to a dozen calls or more. The installers arrived at the correct date and time, and installed the shades. I remained in the apartment, but did not watch them while they worked. When they were finished they showed me how to operate the blinds and -- guess what -- the order had been messed up. Instead of 4 of one kind and 3 of another, I had 7 that were identical. They said the sales rep had entered the order into the computer wrong, and that's why they turned out the way they did. They offered me a chance to think about whether I wanted them to go back and manufacture and bring me the blinds I had actually ordered on some later date. Thinking back over how many phone calls this had required and how many "windows of time" had to be kept open for all these folks, I decided to keep the blinds that had been delivered. Time to move on and do something else with my life.ending

In-home consultation was great. The representative took the time to carefully explain all my options and was not impatient at all when I kept asking to see additional options or variations. He made good recommendations and listened to what I wanted and needed. The installation appointment went very smoothly too. The technician made a mistake and cut one of the valences too short, but readily admitted his mistake and scheduled a follow-up appointment to bring out a new one and install it. I was a bit surprised they didn't have any extras with them because I'd think this would happen rather frequently. The day of the follow-up appointment I got a call from the central office telling me that my appointment was between 1-5pm, but the technician had told me 7pm. After a couple calls to HQ, I was able to get an evening appointment. On the day of the appointment, I asked if the technician would have extra blind cord cleats with him and was assured that he would. However, when he showed up, he said no one told him to bring them and he didn't have any extras. He told me he'd have some ordered and sent to me. Called HQ a couple days later and found out that the technician had not placed the order yet. Supposedly they are ordered now. We'll see.

We use the Nextday Blinds store on Washington Street (801 I believe) in Old Town Alexandria and have been pleased with their work in the past. The store manager was very helpful, though we pretty much knew what we wanted when we started out. The technician arrived on time to do measurements and ther installer actually called to see if he could come early -- to which we of course said yes. This is the third time we've used Nextday Blinds and continue to be pleased with their work.

I left a message on their system on the toll free number - it said they'd return my call in 24 hours but they didn't get back for 72 hours. I asked on the message for them to call me & let me know how much the fee would be for restringing & when they could come, & said if I was not available when they called, to leave this information on my voice-mail. They did call back & made an appointment with me for May 3rd, but didn?t show up because they sent the tech to the wrong address. A pleasant lady had called earlier in the day & asked if the tech could arrive early. She called back 45 minutes later asking exactly where they were supposed to be. The tech as it turns out was at another property of mine in a different county. For him to come back to my house was going to take at least an 1 to 1 1/2. They said couldn't do that. At about 3 that same day, I got a call from Doug who apologized profusely, but I told him I didn't have the time to deal with these issues & that I was going to work with a different company. I also called a call from Bennett Berger - same thing; he'd left a message saying how sorry they were & that they wanted to reschedule. But I at this point, because I've expressed dissatisfaction, I don't trust them in my house for fear of retaliation. When I was paying them they were great & my new best friends! Now that I have a warranty issue, I have problems with service & now I have to put out money for something I shouldn't have to.
Description of Work: I wanted them to restring a blind that they'd installed in 2000 which was under warranty. Mr. Hicky gave me his card with an 800 number to take care of the restringing.

Very well overall. We went to the local store and the young lady had all the information we wanted plus even changed the order and gave us a credit back when we decided to go with 1/2 plantations in the kitchen instead of full.
Description of Work: We had long vertical blinds for a back patio window with a special system to make it look like a sheer curtain. In the kitchen we had them put in 1/2 plantation blinds in white vinyl. Everything was done quickly, professionally and on-time from the time we ordered them. We love the overall look and have now had everything for year and it is all holding up great. My upstairs still have the light excluding blinds that were put in 12 years ago and two need new cords just recently.

The salesman at the store was very knowledgeable and helpful. All range of features, options and cost ranges were shown. I was pleased that we were not steered to the higher cost models. Scheduling was quick; a technician was at the house within a week for the window measurements. A follow up call from the store confirmed the order, colors, features ordered and the final cost (less than the estimate). The shades were installed a week later and look great. the blackout shades make a huge difference blocking out light.

I ordered blinds per the instructions on the website and while they offered to come and measure, i was able to do so myself. The oredring was easy and the product arrived promptly wit everything I needed. When I broke a plastic part on one of older the blinds in my home which I purchased elsewhere years ago, I went to their store near my home and they graciously found a replacement and gave it to me at no charge.

Once installed, the blinds/shades were good quality and the installation itself was well done. Our primary complaints were in the areas of timeliness, responsiveness and professional courtesy. We ordered window treatments for the entire house on 12-07-2012 with the expectation that at least some of the treatments would be ready within a couple of weeks. The sales person later advised us that due to the holiday rush, they would not be ready until early January 2013. The windows were measured on Dec. 19; the production date was January 7, 2013 but the treatments were not installed until February 20, 2013.....more than two months after the initial order was made. We were told that the blinds they were ordering from another supplier were causing a delay. The individual who had sold us the treatments vanished and was unreachable. Finally, unable to obtain a satisfactory response on the delay either via e-mail or over the phone, in early February we visited a Next Day Blinds store and learned even though the treatments from Next Day Blinds had been ready for some time, the company did not want to make more than one trip to install them. Given the size of our order and the significant delay, we made it clear that waiting for everything to be finished was unacceptable. A partial delivery was made on February 16 with the second on the 20th. We finally cancelled an order for special order shutters which stalled, according to the company, because they did not have the name of the paint despite the fact that we had sent them the formula from a can of the paint. That was the last straw.
Description of Work: December 7, 2012: Complete order for window treatments for a new home. December 19, 2012: Measurements taken for the order. January 7, 2013: Production date provided by Next Day Blinds Initial date of possible installation late December; second date for possible installation, January; installation completed on February 20. One order finally cancelled due to delay and unprofessional, discourteous service.

Next Day Blinds lives up to its name and great reputation. The Decorating Consultant, Chris Adams, came to my home with knowledge, experience and good ideas. Within 24 hours, the installer, Kevin Schaecher, efficiently installed the blinds within a half hour. Both employees have been with NDB for over 12 years and their experience was evident. I'm very pleased with the results of the project.

In response to a call to Next Day Blinds, their consultant Holly Frankhouser contacted me, discussed the desired blinds, brought samples to the site, measured the windows and wrote up the order. The company has an excellent selection and had exactly what I wanted at a competitive price. About a week later, a two-man crew came and installed the blinds. One blind did not fit, so they came back later and installed a blind that did fit. Everyone was prompt, courteous and responsive. The installers removed their shoes (a nice touch).

Installation was very fast-- likely completed in less than two hours by one installer. Afterwards, he checked in with us to make sure we were satisfied with the quality, and left the work area clean. The installer was friendly and professional.

We were greeted at the showroom the moment we walked in the door, and the salesman showed us what we asked to see - plantation shutters, discussed the options, colors, etc. He was pleasant and knowledgable. The next weekend someone came to the house to measure the windows. He was on time, and was quick; clearly had experience doing this, and he was very nice. Two weeks after the measurements were made two men came to install the shutters. It took between three and four hours to complete all of the rooms. They were careful and curtious. We have been very happy with the result! Not so happy about the price - we have put off doing this for years because to the investment. But the rooms look so much more finished now and it feels like we have more privacy at night with the window coverings.

This company is very professional and customer -oriented. Setting up a home appointment was easy. The consultant came on time and was knowledgeable and efficient. I received courtesy calls telling me when he was on his way, (and received the same call from the installer). The whole appointment including measuring and pricing was completed within 45 minutes as I knew exactly what I wanted. The blinds were installed 5 days later, on the day I requested and so far I have been extremely pleased with them. This is probably not the absolutely cheapest way to acquire blinds, but if you are looking for a pleasurable and professional company to deal with and a beautiful product, I would highly recommend this one.

Update - I had issues with what was promised during my consultation and what was delivered and installed. I contacted the company after receiving an email requesting feedback. I was immediately contacted by several managers and higher ups trying to resolve and correct the problem. We initially had a bit of phone tag before connecting. Next Day Blinds listened to what my problems and issues were with the blinds and offered to rectify the situation, even replacing the style of blinds with no extra cost. My concerns about the safety of a certain type of blind in my children's room was offered to be replaced without any problem. The blind that overlapped onto my back door handle will be remeasured and a new type of blind or style suggested. Overall, Next Day Blinds has been excellent in trying to correct the situation regarding my experience and my order. I will update again when everything is replaced and installed. Very happy with their prompt customer service. 2nd Update - Shutters have been installed and really really make a difference with the look of the room. The vinyl shutter casings are a perfect fit. Replacement blinds for the children's rooms and the master bedroom were switched out and their safety is to my satisfaction. The blind that was too big for my deck backdoor was switched out with a honeycomb blind that fits behind the door handle and we have no further issues with it. Overall, everything was corrected and in very quick order. The response to my original dissatisfaction with the initial installation of the blinds I first received has been rectified. Next Day Blinds was quick to provide me, the customer, with satisfaction and apologized for the wrong promises of the salesperson who came to my house. They were quick to work with me over the phone and make suggestions to solve everything. Overall, please with the final results. I would use them again, knowing now what to expect with the salesperson.

I was referred to Next Day Blinds by a friend. The arrival time of the initial consultation was delayed from what I was originally told, which impacted my schedule for the day. However, the consultant worked well with me and my place and helped me choose what I really wanted. She also reported my dismay to HQ about my discontent with the delayed arrival. The manager placed a call to my place apologizing and offered an additional 5% off the total price. His tone and action was a class act. The installation was a week later, on time, and extremely fast. Next Day Blinds is not inexpensive. But the products are high quality. I would use them again.

This was our third time working with the Next Day Blinds store in Kingstowne and as with the previous two purchases, everything was excellent, from the advice and service provided by the sales person to the quality of the measurement and installation. Both the person doing the measurement and the installer arrived on time, were very cordial, and answered all our questions. The installation was very good despite having slightly crooked window frames and the blinds themselves are very high quality. Although NDB's prices are a little higher than other similar stores, we've found that the quality of both their materials and service are more than worth the extra money.

We made a purchase about a year ago and had blinds installed in all of the windows on our second floor. Cords on two of the blinds in my daughter's room had started to "act up" due to the roughness with which she lets her blinds up and down. A service technician came out within the time frame promised and quickly switched out some parts so that the blinds are back to normal. The service technician was very friendly and knowledgeable and I was thrilled to have this service performed at no cost to us!

They've done very well. It was easy to order the blinds and the guy that installed them did a great job. There was something that was installed wrong several years ago, so he corrected it and fixed it lovely.
