Description of Work: We had to have part of a kitchen cabinet removed for access to electrical work. Mr. Cox removed the pieces that needed removed and came back later to reinstall everything once electrical was completed. He did an excellent job and was on time for both appointments. He is very knowledgable and professional. I would highly recommend him.

The estimate went well.
Description of Work: Estimate Only Mr. Cox was very professional and knowledgeable. I would have hired him but I just could not afford the minimum charge to reattach a banister and adjust a kitchen drawer. I had a cabinet to install, however Mr. Cox did not think the wall where I wanted to place it was adequate. He wanted to install shelves instead. I do not like shelves.

Response from JOE COX CONSTRUCTION & HANDYMAN
I am sorry that the member did not like the price. It was actually $100.00 below my minimum and the member was told this. She actually accepted my proposal and we set a time to do the work and then she called the night before and said she wanted to find a different shelf and that she would call me later. This is the first I heard about her not liking the price.I try to be as up front and honest with people as possible-I wish people like this would do the same.

It was an excellent experience.
Description of Work: Joe is a delightful professional to work with. He provided a spot-on, low estimate, and completed the work thoroughly. As I prepare my home for sale, we discussed a number of other projects, I will use him for several jobs. He's meticulous and provides excellent advice -- often cost savings ideas. I'd recommend him for any handyman/carpentry type project.

Description of Work: I told Joe I wanted to widen the doorway of a basement closet, put in sliding doors and shelves to maximize access and storage space. I I wanted my husband to have storage for his hiking and camping things. I also wanted to cover the cinderblock walls with drywall. Joe advised me to consider why we were doing this and then consider how much money we really wanted to put into the project. He said, "If you want to spend $5,000, I can do that, but why would you want to spend that on a basement closet for hiking and camping equipment?" Joe also advised that we would be calling him back to fix sliding doors that would eventually give us problems. He told us to think about it. He came back and gave us an estimate for shelves and double doors. We nixed the drywall, because it would subtract from the depth of the closet. Joe gave us a list of the materials and their cost. We paid for the materials upon signing the contract and the remainder was paid when the work was finished. Joe started on a Wednesday when the doors came in. He cleaned up after himself and returned on Friday to finish the job. He explained everything as he went along. We got exactly what we needed at a great price. Joe is friendly, very conscientious and trustworthy. I have recommended him to friends and will continue to do so. If he isn't comfortable doing something, he will tell you. He doesn't do electrical work for instance. Joe Cox gets an 'A'.

Terrific, as explained above
Description of Work: The guy was great. He came right to my house the first day I called. He was clean, neat very professional and an all around just terrific fella. Very Knowledgable and as curteous as they can possibly get. He fixed my dishwasher and looked over the general working condition of my furnance. He explained the general workings of each and genuinely wants to know if is working. He was the best I ever had to this date. Rarely get better. For any appliance I would use him again.

Mr. Cox came up with a nice plan for the closet; he performed the work beautifully, neatly and on time. A problem with an electrical outlet that would have been in the way in the closet was dealt with imaginatively by moving it to the outside of the new wall forming the front of the closet.
Description of Work: Mr. Cox built a closet with a shelf and bar for hanging clothes and bi-fold doors. He also did several drywall patches around the house.

Mr. Cox was absolutely a true professional. He will not embark on a project that is out of his expertise, but has other professionals he works with. He coordinated the plumber (who was great and fair as well) and completed the project as promised and on time. We did have to wait on kitchen supplies to arrive. Mr. Cox also had several excellent suggestions that we agreed to. He coordinated everything for us and it was wonderful not to have to worry when considering how the project began originally with a bad contractor. I absolutely felt comfortable leaving him (and his helpers) in our home unattended. His eye for the details made the project turn out great and his additional suggestions for the overall project completion were certainly worth it. We continue to work with Mr. Cox on other projects we have going in our home.
Description of Work: Mr. Cox was referred to us by our kitchen design company. He saved us! We originally signed up with a "bad contractor" who deserted the project and left us in a real mess. Mr. Cox corrected the bad work performed by the original contractor and finished the scope of work. He has worked in the industry for 20+ years apparently and knows his stuff! (At this time I cannot talk about the original contractor since I have found it necessary to try and get some of my money back in the court system.)
