These are the best tree service people ever encountered

The response to request for quotes was swift, and the quote was by far the best among three. The crew arrived as scheduled and displayed great skill. They took good care not to damage bushes and plants, and nothing fell over the fence to the neighbor although one tree leaned heavily that way. Cleanup was good. One entire tree was taken down, and two others were trimmed.

Update to previous review - there was a miscommunication between us and the estimator and they initially came to trim only 2 of the 4 trees needing trimming. They said it’d cost more to do the whole job. But they called back and made it right - came out quickly and did the work for the same price. Happy with the work and professionalism.

Estimator was specifically shown 4 trees to trim. They provided an estimate for just 2 of them for no apparent reason. It’s my fault that I didn’t notice the discrepancy but I assumed they bid on what I asked. Anyway, I sent in a signed contract that I didn’t read closely enough. It took them a full SIX WEEKS to get me on their schedule, another 2 weeks out, only to show up and tell me they were there to trim 2 trees when I needed 4. And at their outrageous price, I wasn’t going to just tack on another 2 trees. So here we are 2 months later and I’m looking for a new company. No surprise, I’ve contacted 2 and both quoted me a significantly better price.

This was the third or fourth time we have used JL Tree Service. As usual, the crew arrived early, walked around the outside to see where the trees were to work on, then set up the chipper and started to cut branches, some very large. The entire crew was very professional, Crew chief William confirmed what work we wanted done and the trees to work on. This was an all day job and a lot of branches to cut & thin very high up in our trees. Crew was careful and attentive to the safety of the guys climbing. We are very pleased with the work and the quality of staff, esp Crew #25, that did the work for us. We will use them again.

I got a call the after I requested a quote from a very pleasant and professional representative. She said an arborist would contact me in about three business days. The call never came and I hired someone else.

If you live in Montgomery County, don't bother with these guys. They are super responsive for your request to get a quote and scheduling but there is where it ends. I had my work scheduled for 12/12/2018 and on 12/11/2018 I get an email (not a phone call) at 415pm saying that their other work in Maryland cancelled and CAN they reschedule my work? I didn't see the email because who cancels last minute and doesn't at least call the customer and at the very least leave a voice mail? These guys. On 12/12/2018 I email and find out that my job has been rescheduled to 12/14/2018. Apparently CAN we reschedule means they WILL reschedule. I asked JL to reschedule to 12/19/2018 because 12/14/2018 was forecasted for heavy rain. Even after all this, I agreed to reschedule the appointment to 12/19/2018 because Janna in the main office was very responsive to all my emails. Today (12/19/2018) I email again and was told that the head scheduler should have contacted me to reschedule to 12/21/2018. NOPE. No emails, no phone calls, no voice mail. NADA! And they wanted to reschedule for another day that was forecasted for rain so guess what, I would get rescheduled again! I cancelled my work and will go with someone else even if I have to pay a little more. This is got to be my worst experience with someone from Angies List.

The crew was very professional and you can tell they strive to do a good job. I was asked to continually take a look to ensure they were doing what I asked. Highly recommend. Their prices were also very good, as I got several other estimates.

Very well. This is the second or third time I have used them for tree work. They are reasonable and do not try to up sell other services.

They did it in three steps: first cut down tree; next haul away wood; and last dig out stump. They had three teams that worked like clockwork

Outstanding! Fidel, the Pres/Owner of the company, did the survey of what was needed and provided us an estimate. Work was then scheduled and executed flawlessly by his 3-man team. They were professional, polite and meticulous in their clean up. I give them our highest recommendation.

Excellent! We bid this job competitively and JL Tree Service was the lowest bidder. However, their quality was first rate so we didn't sacrifice anything in taking the lowest price. The crew was very professional, courteous, experienced, safe and accommodating. Two of the trees were potentially tricky but the crew handled them flawlessly. Clean-up was terrific.

Their service was excellent, their prices are great, "A" rating accross, and would hire them again if necessary.

JL came out to give estimate in the rain on a Sunday. 2 hours after I put in a request online. Call and said they were in the area and could stop by. We thought this was impressive since it was raining. Workers came by and gave an estimate on the spot. We took the deal and they started work that Friday. They pruned back the large branches and hauled debris away

Took 14 days to get estimate, then were outrageously overpriced. I got work done for 1/4 of what they were offering

Very good- completed agreed work and also some additional trimming. Knowledgeable and describe why they recommend certain services - not just doing what the non-tree-expert homeowner wants to do.

Guys were great. They came and climbed around in the trees to secure the fallen one and keep it from crushing the fence. And it was pouring rain!

After researching online (Angie's List, etc) and contacting a few top rated tree services companies around Manassas, VA we were most impressed with "JL Tree Service" in Fairfax, VA. What really hooked us was their responsiveness over the phone and via e-mail. They got back to us right away and were very friendly and professional. They also honored their online discounts which we thought were comparable to the other top rated companies we contacted. They website looked professional and was well maintained. Our tree was removed in the timeline they mentioned. I wasn't onsite to see it being taken down but our neighbors said they were amazed how efficiently they removed it. The yard was driveway were clean when we returned home. The stump was grind down as low as we requested and surface roots were all removed as promised. I also wasn't there to witness this work being completed but the neighbors told me they put up walls to contain the grindings so they didn't make a mess and damage the properly. Everything was cleaned and hauled away as promised in the timeline them mentioned. I would absolutely recommend "JL Tree Service" and would definitely use them in the future if need.

They did great! I had very specific ideas of what I wanted done and the gentlemen doing the work were very cooperative with the suggestions. They efficiently cleaned everything up once they were done. It was about 3 weeks from the time of getting the estimate to getting the work done. Given it is spring and probably their busy season, I felt that amount of time was reasonable.

The entire team from start to finish (scheduler, estimator, work crew, billing) was professional, courteous and very quick. I would not hesitate to use them again. Thank you for a job well done!
