Jim the Handyman

They were very good at getting here in timely manner and the cost was exactly what they said it would be. There were no surprises. I would recommended them to family & friends.

The contractor installed weatherstripping on my front and back doors and four windows. The estimate was $240.00 which included the materials. At my request, Kelly, the contractor, also removed the screen insert and installed the glass insert in the storm door for an additional $15. I am very satisfied with the work that was completed. The materials and the workmanship were excellent. I highly recommend this company even though the cost was higher than I expected for two and a half hours of work. Kelly was very friendly and professional and cleaned up when he finished the work. I have another appointment scheduled for some carpentry work with this contractor.

He arrived on time, performed the work efficiently, and charged the agreed upon estimate amount.

They did a great job! Showed up as scheduled, worked diligently. They were very pleasant and respectful, and very competent. They cleaned up completely when done. This company is well run and they clearly care about pleasing their customers and doing a good job. We highly recommend them, and will use them again.

Jim responded promptly to a request for an estimate and the work was scheduled within 2 weeks. He arrived on time and completed the work as requested. I am very satisfied and would hire him again.

It was a nice job that they did, but we had one problem where my wife didn t like the color of caulk they used around her sink. When I complained about it, he advised me to paint it. Then they didn t even caulk around the bathtub and they said they didn t agree to it. They only do what they say and nothing more, even if you are not happy. I didn't like their attitude toward our dissatisfaction. They do not have good customer service. I will not use them again because of their attitude. I also thought that it was going to be a guy named Jim doing the work and it turns out that that is the company name and they have a lot of handymen working for them, it is not a small company.

Jim the Handyman service is great. Rosalind is very tactful and business like -- a quality I admire. She stated that her employees undergo a background check and are honest and reliable. I found the honesty and reliability to be true. Kevin and Martin knew what had to be done and were thorough and professional. They brought all the materials for the job and cleaned up as they worked. I liked that. I plan to call Jim the Handyman again for other projects. I also thought the price was reasonable for the work performed. Thanks Kevin and Martin.

Great. Jim came for both estimate and work when we were told he would come. Did a professional job.

Kevin came out and took a list and priced each element, the price was good, and the work was scheduled. When the tub that needed caulking turned out to be a considerably longer job that anticipated (because of a gap), and then some needed to be redone, the original price was stuck to. We were very happy with the work, and we added some additional odd jobs.

I called for an estimate and was given an appointment about 1 1/2 weeks out. Kelly was on time and was able to give the estimate before leaving. When I then called to schedule a time for the work to be completed, he was able to come back that Saturday. He was at the house about 4 1/2 hours. Very meticulous and conscientious. We had one project, fixing downspouts, that had been included in the estimate, but was not able to be completed due to incorrect materials. He explained in great detail what was wrong with the materials we had, which was very helpful.

Kelly arrived to do the estimate on time, and work was scheduled promptly. He arrived to do the work on time at 11AM and completed it at 5:30PM. He worked steadily without any surprises or problems, cleaned up his mess, and we are delighted with the results.

Their service is good, but I wish they couldn't have been a little faster in response.

ARRIVED AS PROMISED TO GIVE A FREE ESTIMATE OF THE WORK. SCHEDULED REPAIR AT MY CONVENIENCE, ARRIVED TO THE MINUTE ON THE DAY OF THE WORK. HAD ALL SUPPLIES HE NEEDED. WORKED QUICKLY, NEATLY, AND CLEANED UP AFTER. PRICE WAS AS QUOTED. THE JOB WAS VERY WELL DONE. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

The assistant came out and did most everything right. The assistant was running late for his next appointment and he installed a rack upside down. I noticed it as he was leaving, and ran out to tell him. He came back and installed it correctly. About a month later, the rack ended up falling down. Jim came out to do some other things, and his work was good as well. Besides the rack falling, all of their other work was good.

Kelly arrived on time, gave me both a cost estimate and time estimate before beginning to work. The door problems were fixed quickly. I'm amazed at how easily my front door now locks and unlocks. He spent most of his time repairing two holes in the drywall in my walk out basement area. The holes were cut by a plumber looking for a leak that turned out to be non existent (but this isn't about that plumber). Kelly's work on the drywall was meticulous and painstaking. He carefully prepared and protected the surrounding area. When he was finished there was not a speck of plaster dust. You would have thought he was working on his own home. It was a pleasure to to watch.

Very satisfied. I would use them again. They came by the week before the job to provide a written estimate and it was easy to schedule time for the following week. They called the day before to confirm the appointment and Kelly arrived on time. He took his time with the caulking and it shows. It's very clean and professional. He cleaned up after himself and left both bathrooms spotless. He was personable and polite, easy to work with.

The company responded quickly and did what they were asked. They misdiagnosed the cause of the dampness, however. They said it was not coming in through window frame, yet contractor called after them found large amounts of water at those points. They said water was seeping up through floor but there was no evidence of that. They work neatly however and come exactly when they say they will. They did a beautiful job replacing the tile.

Someone came out to evaluate and give an estimate. The carpenter arrived after the time frame we were given. He could not complete the job because the decay was more extensive than the estimator had seen. Finally the boss came a week later and told us that they could not complete the work and told us to contact a "home improvement" contractor. We wasted two weeks and $140 on Jim the Unhandy Man.

The man arrived and did not introduce himself. He had more to say about our personal decorative objects in our home than he did for the actual job he came to give me a quote about. The quote itself was, I thought, ridiculously high. I did not hire him.

First contact with Rosaline was very professional. Jim was here for estimate at the designated time, and he performed the project very professionally. I am very pleased with the work and the company.

He did an excellent job and service. I called on a Friday for an estimate, and a friendly and courteous worker came out on Tuesday morning. He provided a quick estimate, knowing what needed to be done. After he left, I called to get on their schedule, and they had an opening the next day. The same worker came out on Wednesday, and did the job in a little over an hour, leaving no mess and a well-caulked tub. I suppose I could have some pause at the $95 charge. There was a charge of $75 for the job as I saw on a previous post that sounded much better, but you can't argue with the workmanship and professionalism. The technician made it clear that they fully guarantee their work, volunteering to make sure we call them if there are any problems.

I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. THEY DO EXCELLENT WORK, AND THEIR PRICING IS VERY REASONABLE. I WOULD ALSO USE THEM AGAIN FOR THEIR SERVICES BECAUSE OF THEIR EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE.
