Jim the Handyman

After a great first experience with Jim, I had no hesitation calling him back to adjust the doors he installed for me. The re-work was not due to any error but a flaw in my original design-completely my oversight. He installed the trifold door exactly as I had asked, but I realized I could no longer access part of my closet because of a gap between the door and frame that was necessary for the door to operate as a trifold. We discussed a modification of the design (a bifold and a separately opening third panel) that ended up working perfectly. He brought his son to help get the work done very quickly. The reconfiguration works perfectly, and I'm so happy with my new closet door!

During the free estimate, Jim enjoyed puzzling out my unconventional idea. I'd previously had one contractor tell me my idea was impossible and refused to do it, so my hopes were not high when Jim came out. I was pleasantly surprised by his positive and friendly attitude. Once we scheduled the work, he arrived promptly on time and consulted with me to ensure he understood exactly what I wanted done. He completed the work with very little interruption of my day, and quickly. He was an absolute pleasure to work with.

I had called for an estimate on several items including replacing screen door, reinforcing cabinet and kitchen island, removing granite countertops and installing new cabinets. Dave came on time and gave me estimates on all the items but we decided to just get the 2 cabinets reinforced at this time. Work was scheduled the next week. Dave was extremely polite and got the work done in 20 minutes. I highly recommend them and would use them again. Unfortunately they don't do any plumbing or electrical work. I was also able to use a coupon for $10 off the labor cost.

Jim came out within 2 days of our call for an estimate. He was on time (actually a few minutes early, which was even better for me!), seemed very knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. He provided an estimate on the spot and we scheduled the work (with Michael) for 8 days later (earliest available time for them). Michael arrived about 30 minutes late; however, he had called first to let us know he was running behind schedule--no problem for us. Michael was courteous, professional, and completed the work in about 2.5 hours. (Not knowing that drywall work would leave dust behind, we wish we had been warned to put away all the stuff we didn't want coated with dust! Oh well, lesson learned for next time.) Overall, an excellent experience. We would definitely work with them again and are compiling our list of things-to-fix!

This was much easier than expected and I even had many "little" things included. I recommend "Jim the Handyman"!

Dave and his helper did most of the work in two days, with Dave returning a half day to finish the painting. They were quiet, courteous, and cleaned up after themselves.

I called to set up an appointment for an estimate and was handled very professionally while setting a date within a few days and provided an overview of the project. Jim showed up right on time a few days later and he walked around the property to see the three locations that needed work. We discussed the options and he provided an estimate while there. I immediately asked him to schedule a date and time to complete the work and he was able to schedule the repair for 2 days later. Since the work was all outside we didn't need to be home for the work to be completed so the job was completed while we were at work. We returned from work and the job was completed as promised and the work sites were cleaned up so you couldn't tell anyone had been there. Excellent job all around!

They called back right away. I guess it's he and his wife that run the business. She called to set up an appointment. She sent a guy out who was very nice but he felt Jim would be better for the job we had. So she called back to set that up. I thought that was very honest of them. They were just really nice and nice to work with for scheduling. He came out and brought his son to do the work and they were just very polite. They did a good job, relatively quickly and did not make a mess.

The work was satisfactory, but a little pricey. It was very well done though. I was very pleased with the quality of work. It was a difficult job.

The porch work was excellent, and the repaired 13 step stairs is better than the original. The replacement door required specialized adjustments because the frame is not plumb. The bedroom painting was also well done. Handyman Michael did excellent work and cleaned up each day and carried all trash away.

Went well. Great way to have odd jobs and misc. jobs completed. Quality of work seems very good. Interacting with company also quite good. No complaints.

The work was done on time driven by expected house guests. Kelly put in three very long days to get the work done. The results were outstanding, cleanup was complete and thorough and there was no follow-up required. Cost estimate was on-target.

My expericne with them was great. He was very niceand very polite. He seems to have done a really good job. I would reocmmend hmi and use hmi again. In fact I already made an appointment to have some painting work done.

After Jim Taylor worked on the door it was still hard to open. The process started with Jim inspecting the door, after a wait of several days after we had called him, and then three weeks delay before he got to the problem.

Forty plus year old enclosure was deteriorating and getting to be a falling hazard. Called Jim, he arrived on time and gave a firm estimate and scheduled the repair. Kelly arrived on time, did the work and removed the residue. Excellent. Elapsed time about 90 minutes, or about two weeks less than if I had done it myself.

They did a great job. They were on time and did excellent work. They cleaned up behind themselves and we were very pleased.

They were very good, they were responsive and they were quick to show up with an estimate. They were very close to there original estimate and they were also very clean.

Jim was very prompt and showed up about 15 minutes early for the first appointment. He was able to look at both of the doors and gave me a quote within a few minutes. He was also able to look at some of our work spaces to see if he could fix a cubicle wall. Scheduled the actual work for the following week. Arrived a few minutes early and finished the job in no time. I was able to use a $10 discount coupon also for the job. Very professional and the doors look great! Now we will put new signs on the suites doors.

The caulking didn't last for 6 months called and said that I should have called earlier also stated the only reason that it didn't last long was because they used a water based caulking.

The repair person arrived within the allotted time and immediately went to work. He fixed the screen door and had a lot of work to replace our dead lock bolt. The screws were stripped and he had to drill and saw them out in order to remove the old lock. He was very patient, completed the job, cleaned up before he left and was extremely courteous. We appreciated his help.

Technician scheduled an evening estimate, and arrived promptly despite warnings that rush-hour appointments can be dicey. The estimate was detailed and included a sketch for clarity, and the work was accomplished exactly as described. The technician providing the estimate outlined very clearly what our options were in repairing water-damaged walls, ranging from the conservative to the drastic, and described the likely impact in terms of time and cost if we discovered that hidden damage proved more extensive than he assumed from the visible woodwork and drywall. The workman was punctual, polite, and conscientious; not only did he perform and complete the work exactly as desired, but he did all of the cutting and sanding outside to minimize the dust inside wherever possible and carefully avoided conflicting with another repair team that had arrived on short notice to complete another job. He did a beautiful job finishing the work; it's impossible to tell the difference between the existing and repaired wall and trim, and the newly installed access panel is more convenient to operate than the original.

The work was performed exactly as described and for the amount estimated. The worker cleaned the area and was careful with the paint. I will definitely use this company again.
