I really had to talk to the dealers of Gellar and Young companies concurrently to make sure that they were coordinating with each other. And really, I had to talk with both of them to make sure I understood the process because it was the first time as a realtor that I had encountered asbestos at home. I was really unfamiliar with what had to be done, and they were really really helpful in going there with me-both of them. They worked together as a team to giver me everything that I need as far as asbestos is concerned.

Geller took 10 samples from old floor tile in three areas of house. They proved test results in two days, which enabled me to arrange abatement three days later, just before my contractor was scheduled to begin a renovation project. They were extremely clear about the issues, went out of their way to answer questions and prompt and efficient. Could not ask for more.

Geller Environmental Labs Inc. responded quickly to my email. I explained that I needed an asbestos evaluation before the estimate for carpet installation expired. He called the next morning and was able to come out that same day to take the samples. Both the gentlemen that came to the house were very professional and respectful. They quickly got the samples and promised the report in no more than two days. The report came right on time, and was very clear.

We asked for help from Geller on a Friday after hearing from a termite contractor that they wouldn't rip into our walls unless they were sure there was no lead. We were pressed to get an answer fast, as we were worrying about the fate of our house with a termite population actively chomping away. Despite an already full calendar, they sent someone out on Monday when they heard our situation. He was great. He explained the process and also educated us on the threat of lead - providing facts to replace our "what if's". He answered our many, many questions. He examined all of the rooms and tested samples of every surface - even tile. (We were surprised to learn that lead can be found in older or imported tiles' glazes). The tests were conducted using a "gun". He also gave us advice re. living in an older house with kids. We know far more than we did a week ago - thanks, Geller Environmental!

I have asbestos floor tiles in my basement, some of which are broken, and I was concerned about the air quality. Jack Geller quickly dispatched an employee to test the air, and I received lab results the following day. While I did not not have an airborne asbestos issue, they recommended that I get the tiles removed within the next year or so. (They do not do the remediation work themselves - only the testing.) Jack Geller was thorough, prompt, patient, and professional in answering all my questions. In fact, when I had a follow-up question on the weekend, he called me back a few hours later on a Sunday. I plan to use this company for post-abatement testing.

Working with Paul from Geller was great. Both the pre- and post-remediation tests were thorough and he was very patient and engaged with all of my questions, both during the initial inspection and later phone calls--as I discovered the mold problem just a few months after purchasing the home, which was my first, it was a bit of a blow and Paul's help and professionalism was very comforting. I can't comment on Geller's relative cost because I didn't get other quotes, but my initial inspection was about $800 (which based on the areas we needed to look at included three air samples and one surface sample) and about $650 for the second inspection (which is optional). It felt like a lot of money to me, but from some general research I did online it seemed like a fair price for the quality of work and with mold remediation so expensive I decided it was well worth doing to make sure the work was done right the first time.

Jack Geller was very responsive, and his staff worked quickly and thoroughly. They were collaborative with my contractor as well as the remediation contractor, and as a result, scheduling was easy.

Angie's List gave them my contact info through the concierge service. I spoke with Geller and they were prepared to do the inspection, but encouraged me to double check that they wanted an XFR. The date they were able to do it would have been perfect (about 10 days out). I called the insurance company and they said not to bother so I did cancel but I would certainly call them first if I was looking to do this again. I also used HomeAdvisor and they gave me some one in maryland who wasn't licensed to do the inspection so that was a complete bust by comparison.

First -- Angie's list has Geller Environmental Labs incorrectly listed for asbestos abatement / removal; they do NOT perform abatement or remediation services, but rather laboratory sampling and testing services. . Contacted Young Environmental to obtain an asbestos abatement proposal and subsequently proceed with Young Environmental for abatement and through Young Environmental I obtained Geller Environmental Labs for air monitoring, sampling and testing. Geller Environmental Labs provided monitoring and sampling, testing, on-site and final report clearance report with current business licenses the next day.

I purchased an older home, and our initial remodeling effort revealed potential asbestos presence. Geller Environmental responded immediately (within 1 hour) to our call. Jack Geller listened, took careful notes, and met that afternoon with my contractor to assess the situation, and kept me informed. He arranged for expedited turn around on the lab results. Once we had confirmation that we had to remediate, he provided the name of 2 potential qualified contractors. Professional, responsive, genuinely caring.

I was very impressed with Geller. The representative was very professional and thorough. He gave me the estimate very quickly. The price wasn't cheap, but the other mold companies quoted a comparable amount. I would recommend this company to friends.

Our contractor had entirely gutted our 1950s bathroom and the remodel was almost complete when we realized -- and panicked -- that some of the old building materials may have had asbestos (along with the tile dust now spread all over). At 11:00 pm I messaged Geller Environmental Labs based on other good reviews, and got a message back early the next morning saying call the office right away. Jack gave me a comprehensive description of the (low) likelihood that there was asbestos but was able to send Paul the same day to take samples. I got a phone call the next day saying lab results were negative for asbestos, and a written report by email the next business day. I was extremely impressed with everyone I dealt with at Geller: they were professional, fast, thorough, and nice. The price was very reasonable too. I highly recommend this company.

We needed to have old asbestos tiles removed from our family and downstairs guest bedroom in preparation for excavation of a French drain basement waterproofing system. For peace of mind I dropped off samples of two types of tiles with Jack Geller for testing. The cost was $180. After a separate company removed the tiles on 7-31, an inspector from Geller Environmental Labs came over and gave the all-clear. The fee was $350. I understand that testing and inspection is not required in Virginia, and the service is not cheap. However it provides assurance to the homeowner, and I'm glad I had Geller do this work. A great job, and thanks!

Pat showed up at the time he said he would and thoroughly checked our new house for lead and asbestos. He came the day after I called.

Geller's team tested the air in our home following professional asbestos removal work by Young Environmental. Geller and his team were extremely professional, courteous and patient with us and all of our questions. We even asked Geller to carry out some additional testing just in case which they were more than happy to preform. Geller was very fast in getting test results back to us and answering our questions. We are very grateful that we had his experience to guide us through the entire process.

They gave report that there was no mold in the room. They were very professional. I was satisfied with the end results.

Scheduled Geller to come out to our home and take samples of floor tile and mastic in our basement for asbestos testing. Paul arrived on time, was professional and friendly. He took samples from three different rooms in our basement and patiently answered all my questions regarding testing and abatement. A few days later we received a detailed report of the findings. I called and was able to speak with Paul regarding the results and received recommendations for abatement companies such as Young Environmental. Both Paul and Greta (the office person) were extremely helpful and polite. We also had Geller came out to perform a final air test during our abatement to make sure everything was clear. I highly recommend Geller Environmental, they are just fantastic!

Mr. Geller came out the day after I called, was very courteous and professional and provided the results within just a few days. Overall a very positive experience and I have already recommended the company to others.

We received a detailed report at the end with recommendations. Air samples were taken from different parts of the house and outdoors as part of the assessment. Jack Geller and his staff were very professional and responsive. The service was costly; however, I have no basis for comparison. I would highly recommend this company and have confidence in their methods and results.

Geller was punctual and professional. We wish we had called them for our initial lead-based paint test and asbestos tests. They were so prompt (early, even), courteous, and helpful! The unexpected abatement necessary was turned into a smooth, worry-free process that only extended our remodel by 5 days. We are grateful for their promptness and professionalism in what otherwise could have been a stressful and costly experience.

Our experience with Geller Env. Labs was very professional and pleasant. The team member who came to take samples of our floor was professional and friendly. The asbestos report arrived via email very quickly.. within 24 hours of the test. Once the asbestos was abated by a different company, Geller Env. Labs came out to perform an air quality test. Again, the team member was extremely professional and friendly. That report was also sent to us the very next day (within 24 hours). Thank you!

Overall it was an easy process. Jack was very personable and the samples were done quickly, with lab results back in 2 business days. I did not match prices to other labs, as I was referred to Geller and did not want to delay the testing.

Jack Geller's team works carefully to pick out the places that will likely have asbestos, from their years of experience. In our case, they collected four samples and explained why each of them were going to be analyzed. They sent us a full report and then gave us recommendations on local asbestos removal companies. One of those recommendations was the company we went with. We had imagined that this process would take a while and would be complicated / expensive. We were wrong - Geller's team really helped to make it as painless and easy as possible.

They were really good. They were fast. The guy that I talked to was very patient and he explained everything in detail. He gave me helpful information. They came in, took the sample and then sent me the results. They were very quick and very helpful over the phone. They were very accommodating. The price was pretty reasonable. I called up other places and their prices were either more or around that area.

We were having our kitchen re-tiled and the ceramic tile was being pulled out and found to be glued down to some vinyl sheet flooring which had a fibrous backing. Called Geller to ask about the need for testing and he had concerns it could be asbestos tile based on my description. It was an urgent situation since 3/4 of the floor had already been pulled up and if it had contained asbestos would have been a major issue. Jack Geller immediately got off the phone, came over and got samples and hurried back to the lab to get them submitted so we'd have an answer the next day. We didn't stay in the house while we waited, and were very anxious about it. Jack called me as soon as he had the results the next day, which luckily were negative. Jack was extremely responsive and got us the answer so we had minimal disruption to the work and our lives. He was great and I would highly recommend him. Also answered some questions of mine on the need for lead paint testing over the phone (we have not moved forward with lead testing at this point, but if we decide to I would definitely use Geller Environmental).
