Dr. Weiss took a $2,000.00 deposit for a new dental bridge in January 2013. Once he removed the bridge in January 2013 he informed us that Mom, 90 year old WWII veteran, needed to have a tooth pulled and a root canal. Two weeks letter we received a letter telling us he sold his practice. He knew he was going to sell his practice when he took the $2,000.00 deposit. After speaking with his office staff in Ashburn, it was learned he did not sell his Ashburn practice. Mom had a failed root canal and two teeth pulled. In May we drove all the way from Woodbridge to Ashburn to secure the bridge only to be told she had too many teeth pulled and it might be a waste of money to get dentures/partial. He didn't even look at her teeth when he told me this information. I think instead of wasting our time it would have been nice for him to call and discuss this with me and review our options. When I asked about the tooth gap in the front of her mouth he finally looked at her. She had broken a tooth and we needed to get it pulled. It was such a long trip and a frustrating experience we decided to find a dentist much closer to her in Woodbridge even though she had been going to Dr. Weiss for many years. In June 2013 I wrote Dr. Weiss a letter requesting he return our deposit after deducting his expenses for removing her old bridge and to bill Mom's insurance company, Blue Cross and GEHA dental. NO response. I called numerous times in July 2013. When I got through I was told to call back and speak to the woman who handles these matters. When I did finally get her on the phone she said she had been out of the office and to give her time to catch up and speak with the doctor. I called back later that day after lunch time since she had said she would call me before lunch. She sounded irritated and said she need time to catch up and hadn't spoken to the doctor and she would call me before the end of the day. She called back and said she/they would mail me a check for a little over $700 and bill the insurance company but that takes three months to get insurance funds. I assured her it didn't take three months and to mail me the check immediately for the $700.00. (Remember I wrote the letter in June and it was now late July.) On July 29, 2013 Blue Cross received the claim but it was mailed to the wrong Blue Cross. Blue Cross informed me they would forward the claim to the correct Blue Cross. I have not received my refund as of today, September 1, 2013. I intend to go to small claims court this coming week. All because the dentist wanted $2,000.00 upfront to start the work, the estimate was close to $5,000.00, knowing he was selling his practice. He had pushed for this work to be done in October 2012 prior to her additional dental insurance. Since it would save us money we decided to wait the 3 months.. I think he knew at that time he was going to sell his practice and wanted our $2,000.00.

We are not happy with Gary J Bergman. They soaked our carpets so bad that we had to air them out before we could bring them back in. We will not use them again.
Description of Work: I had them clean two carpets for us.
