Fairfax Garage Door

Fairfax Garage door installed an insulated garage door at my townhouse and also replaced the opener. They gave a competitive quote plus an excellent Angies List discount on top of it. The work was very well done. I have no complaints.

I as happy with the experience, they had a pretty wide selection of styles. They didn't have as wide of a selection as door providers. The price included the door, installation, new motor, new remote access, etc. It's a great garage door. They are a small business located close to our house and they were rated well on Angie's List so I felt good about using them. The sales person came out to our house and showed us our options and helped a little with choice. There was a pretty short time between placing the order and getting it. There was a little bit of disconnect between the sales person and the installer. The sales man talked up how they were going to put rubber between the joyst in the ceiling of the garage and the actual opener so there wouldn't be as much vibration. The installer said he doesn't know where these people come up with this because that's not how you do it. It's still quiet, though. The installer was professional and cleaned up after himself. We subcontracted the installer to replace part of the molding in the garage so they stripped it away and repainted it. It looks very nice.

I found them to be less expensive and less rigid than another company that I?ve used. Gaithersburg was flexible and helpful and they did the work that was needed as well as some extra work that I agreed to. The price was very reasonable.

They were excellent from beginning to end. I called them before I had the garage door opened just to tell them about a problem that I had with closing the garage and over the phone he was able to tell me how to fix it so that I wouldn't have to pay a service call. I told him that if I ever need a garage door he was the one I was going to call, and not much longer after that I decided to replace the door so I called them and they did the work. When they came out they had the wrong panel, but they came back and replaced it and did everything. I had one problem with one of their guys, I explained to them what happened with the guy and they apologized and took care of everything right away.

Everything went great with them. They did the work on time and within the budget. They were very easy to work with. I would use them again in future if need be.

called for appt on Monday (no estimate), appt set up on Friday, came and performed work in less than 20 minutes. Super fast. The estimate was $108 plus materials.

The person who visited my home to examine the work to be done and give an estimate was very professional. He showed samples of available finishes, described the differences in types of doors, and answered my questions. Their estimate was competitive with another I had received, and I liked the manner of this company's presentation. On the day of installation, the two men who would complete the work came exactly at the appointed time. One of them explained what they would do and how long it would take. He said 2 to 3 hours. They completed the work in about 2 and a half hours. He walked me through everything that they had done, showing me the new lock for manual operation and telling me how to care for the hardware. They had already put the old door and fittings in their truck because the area was spotless. I have been completely satisfied with this excellent job.

Great! Justin arrived on time, diagnosed the problem quickly, and made the repair. He also checked the other door, made adjustments - and now both doors work smoothly and QUIETLY. Wish we had called sooner because both doors had been noisy for several years. This is a superb company. They installed these two garage doors for us in 2002. They also replaced a panel which crumpled when I attempted to back out without opening the door in 2004!

Prompt answer to phone call. Provided choice of windows for when repair person would arrive. When their repair person was running behind, they called and kept me informed on when he would arrive. Service was done quickly and correctly.

I called on Thursday, 01/15. I wanted to know the options involved in an automatic garage door opener on a door that had never had one. Adam explained my options and the plusses, minuses, and costs of each. I decided on an option, and made an appointment for the next afternoon at 1. Adam arrived at 1 and went to work. In less than an hour he had installed and tested the new opener. He then explained the operation of the unit to us. He left the area as clean as it had been when he arrived.

The contractor was punctual, courteous, and efficient. He fixed the problem quickly and made recommendations on how to avoid it in the future. Highly recommended.

I got two quotes for my garage door. Fairfax Garage Doors was cheaper (same product) and they were more responsive than the other business. Both were recommended to me. I liked the website that they had. I really wanted to see and clearly understand my options. Peter from Fairfax Garage Doors did a great job of showing me what to expect. He took a picture of the garage and placed the garage door options in the picture using a software program on his computer. The other company couldn t even give me a line drawing. I ordered the door. It came in the expected time frame. The technician who put it in was very professional and the door runs very smoothly. This was put in the winter, too cold of a time of a year to do exterior painting. So I was given the option for of having them to deliver the door and not have it put together and hung right away, so I could paint it. There would have been an additional fee because of the extra trip for them. At the end I decided not to do this because I didn t know what color I wanted to paint it. The door came primed, FYI.

I have filed their bill receipt and card, and I shall call them if and when I have need for any garage door work. I shall recommend them.

The service rep. arrived exactly on time and gave us a full explanation of the problem and his recommendation. The installation went very smoothly, and the new door is attractive, as well as quiet. The whole experience was excellent.

Our old existing wood manual garage door slipped its track. Checked Angie's List and found this company recommended. I called them for an estimate. The estimator came out within the week and said I can fix that... and did!! He did not push to get a new sale but I decided the old door needed replacing. Estimator had samples and photos and we settled on a new steel door, new tracks, an electric motor with remote. Estimator did all the preliminary measurements and drew up the contract. I placed a deposit. The door would be coming in within two weeks and they would call me for installation. The door arrived, the company called, the installer arrived as scheduled, the installation went without a hitch. We have a new automatic garage door! Nice job, nice door, neat work. The exterior remote was temporarily out of stock and the installer would not accept the remaining amount due until it arrived. A week later the remote arrived, the installer called, and the next morning the job was finished. No problems. No hassle. We are pleased. Comes with a six year warranty. ANY problems, we call, they come out to fix. So far no problems (after a month and a half).
