Fairfax Floors Inc

Pros: Very friendly and very responsive to phone calls. We were able to order the carpet and get it installed right away. Showed up on-time for the installation appointment and called about 45 minutes ahead. They gave us the lowest price on the carpet we wanted after shopping around town. Cons: Installed the carpet, but now about 8 doors don't close properly because the carpet is too high. They couldn't fix this problem (even for an additional charge) nor could they recommend someone who could fix it. This definitely surprised me because I'm sure their customers have this problem all the time. Now I have to take another day off work and pay more money to get this problem fixed. I mentioned this problem several times to the owner over the phone, didn't get any assistance.

The experience was very enjoyable and the new carpeting looks great! I drove out to the showroom and met with Ken Galantine who showed me the types and colors of carpeting. I chose several large color and texture samples to take home and was quickly able to pick the carpet I liked best. Then, Ken visited my home to take measurements and discuss the installation and which areas would be replaced. After a day or two, he sent a price estimate via email and I was happy it was so affordable for so many rooms. I gave him a 50 percent deposit. Angies List members receive upgraded padding. The installation was scheduled for a few weeks later and everything was done in one day. I cleared as much off the existing carpet as I could, things like chairs, lamps, bookcases, area rugs and emptied closets so they would be able to work quickly. They worked very efficiently and carefully and cleaned and vacuumed afterwards. All the old carpeting and padding was hauled away. I thought the process was made as easy as possible for the customer. Probably the most difficult thing is to decide what carpet you want but after that it is very straightforward process. My only regret is that I didn't get one more closet floor recarpeted to match the others. I just forgot/declined including it in the yardage estimate and there wasn't enough excess to cover the area. Anyway, I can do it later when I get more rooms recarpeted.

Recieved a pad upgrade as an Angie's List member, Walking on this carpet without shoes is very nice. It's almost 'too' soft. The color seemed darker than we thought it would be, but we're getting used to it (when we were selecting the color we were told "it will look 'lighter' on the floor." Well, not really...) The removal of the old carpet was a bit messier than we'd hoped, and I noticed the new pad going down over a lot off dust that I would rather have removed first. Although the vacummed at the end, a lot of other debris was left behind along the wall edges and on the wood portions of the stair treads and foyer that we had to clean up ourselves, but we assumed that was typical. However, I had to touch-up several areas where rolls of carpet/pad made large marks on the walls, including a spot that required some spackle. I'm not sure my request was passed along to the workers to be careful and they should have at least told me about that damage before they left. Overall, none of that really bothered us but the seams are clearly obvoius in several spots. I pointed out that we'd had that problem before (I even showed them where in out basment). I have not called them back yet to discuss that but I assume they will attempt to fix it when I call. We've just been too busy to deal with it over the holidays. Overall, it looks very nice but I hope we can do something about the seams.

We didn't really know where to start after our basement flooded and we had our old, wet carpet pulled out. We called these folks b/c they had high ratings. They were really easy to talk to and got someone out almost immediately for an estimate. After that, there was a LONG delay (on our end) as we worked with our insurance company. When we finally called for the installation, they were able to get in here almost immediately. They were very accomodating and even worked around some heavy pieces of furniture that would have been difficult for us to move. The carpet looks great! My kids have been rolling on it for the past few days. BTW I think the extra padding that Angie's List members get really helps in a basement.

I wanted to have laminate flooring installed in my basement family room. I visited the showroom and Matt was extremely helpful in pointing out the various options. We scheduled a measurement and I was able to take the sample boards home in order to choose a shade to match the newly painted room. I received a quote the day after Matt came to measure the room. The installation went very smoothly, but a minor problem arose because of a miscommunication between the installer and me. I let Matt know about it the next day, and by the following day the problem was resolved to my satisfaction. This is clearly a company that values their customers and I plan to use them to install carpeting within the next six months.

Very good experience. Once contacted by phone, they came to the house and provided an free estimate of the work to be done. Once agreed, we scheduled the work for the following week. They came on time as scheduled, did the work in the two huors estimated including moving furniture to be able to remove wrinkles in the carpet in all areas. They had to break seams in a couple of places. They cleaned up all areas when finished and vacuumed all the areas where they did work. Carpet looks good now.

I have used Fairfax Floors before and was very happy with their services. And they did a great job again. They gave me great advice on what type of flooring I should use in my addition. They took the time to help us pick out the right hardwood for our needs and budget. The installers were very courteous, professional, and punctual. They kept my house clean during the installation, and was able to work around other tradesmen that were working at the same time. I highly recommend Fairfax Floors.

Every aspect of the job went well from beginning to end. Would definitely use them again.

From first contact with Matt at Fairfax Floors through installation all very straightforward with help in picking out what we needed and estimate which was competitive with other companies that we had contacted. Everything went smoothly, the workers arrived on time, focused on the task at hand, and cleaned up afterwards. I'm really glad we found them on Angie's List. I will definitely use them again.

The hardest part of the whole experience was selecting the right color carpeting. Kevin and his associates at Fairfax Floors made the rest of it easy. I highly recommend them.

The overall job went superbly. Matt Muller provided exellent 'client service' both before, during, and after the work was completed. I reached out to Fairfax Flooring because in early 2008 they installed hardwood flooring in my entrance hallway and my kitchen -- it was a great job and to this day it looks fantastic. In 2008 work done was superb and the people pleasant and accomodating to work with. It was no different in 2011!! They were my first call when I decided to install hardwood flooring in my dining. I had the carpeting removed from my dining room and replaced with laminate hard wood flooring. My hope was to match the hard wood flooring installed in the hallway and kitchen in 2008, but as luck would have it, the manufacturer went out of business 6 months before. Matt Muller the salesperson worked with me to find a 'close enough' match for the dining room -- he came to the house with samples -- when that didn't work he went back to the store and pulled a few more -- I met him at the store and together we found the match. When installed it looked terrific -- even though it wasn't a perfect match it went nicely with the kitchen floor. A few days after the installation was completed, I noticed a slight chip in one of the floor planks -- without questioning or challenging my concern, Matt told me that he would ask Mr. Lee to come back to replace the damaged plank. Mr Lee came out that Saturday morning and within an hour the floor was once again as good as new. Fairfax Flooring will always be my business-of-choice for future flooring work and I will continue to recommend this company to friends, neighbors, family, and colleagues. They're great!!!

They did a wonderful job. They did a perfect job. They had a good selection of carpets and their sales people were very helpful. They did a very accurate job in measuring the room and their installers were very good. They came on time and did what they said they were going to do. It didn’t cost anymore than what they had told. I had a thoroughly positive experience with them. I would rate them high overall. I would use them again in the future.

We interviewed a lot of flooring companies and nobody can compare. We have a tight budget and they were able to meet our needs and helped us stay in budget. Other companies were very rigid and would not go down in price for us. Fairfax Floors was fair in its pricing and quality of wood. In addition to the price, the people were very good to work with. They were professional and clean. From our first meeting with Mike to our last conversation he went out of his way to make sure we were please with their work. Its been six months and my floors still look amazing!!! I love looking at them and knowing I had the best wood installed and didn't go over budget.

Excellent. I asked Matt to let me know all the possibilities of what could go wrong so that we could be prepared just in case. To me, this is comforting, to be very prepared. We had the kitchen completely cleaned out and ready for the installers, had meals on hand so that we would not need to walk on the new flooring, and everything in the installation worked out even easier than anticipated. All personnel were professional and skilled. Installation was timely. The floor is gorgeous, and we definitely recommend and would use Fairfax Floors again!

The experience with Fairfax Floors team was A+ from beginnning to end. They promptly responded to my inquiry and scheduled an appointment for the estimate within a day of my call. The carpet installation went smoothly and on time. No issues at all. The cost and quality were both excellent.

Found Fairfax Floors through Angie's List. Mike, the company rep we dealt with, is extremely knowledgeable and professional. He helped us go through options and select flooring right for each area. Had to wait a little while for carpet to be delivered from factory, but installation went very quick once it came in. Hardworking team installed both hardwood and carpet very professionally. Price was consistent with the estimate provided by insurance company for basement damage. Provided precise written estimates and was very responsive to email and phone calls. I would definitely recommend to friends and family.

It was a wonderful experience from the first visit I made to the Fairfax Floors Office. I took quite a bit of time to pick out the flooring for our new space and kitchen. Matt Muller was extremely patient with me. On several occassions, he allowed me to take home samples of flooring to see if I liked it in the room and with it's surroundings. I vacilated a bit, but Matt never pressured me to hurry the process. The floor installers were real professionals. They took care to prepare the space so no damage was done to cabinets, etc. They covered the floor space so that the new flooring stayed perfect while they worked. They worked non-stop until the job was done. We are very pleased with the results and the process from beginning to end. If you need flooring, go see Matt Muller at Fairfax Floors!

He was very friendly and professional. But, his pricing was way off. He was dishonest. He told me that the carpet that I was replacing was a very high grade. When I got somebody else out here, two other people, they both told me that it was the most basic carpet.

They were excellent. It went well overall. The guys were incredibly skilled. They were really hard working and did the installation very fast.

I contacted Fairfax Floors because of your reviews and proximity to my daughter's house in Fairfax. I live in Colorado and my daughter at the time was living in Florida. But it was no problem arranging the installation. Mike, Matt and Kevin were able to meet with my daughter who was in town for only a few days. I did not compare prices as I figured they were competetive, and our situation realy didn't allow for comparison shopping. I asked for a midrange carpet, and there was no pressure to upgrade. My daughter says her house feels like new.

Based on positive Angie's List reviews, we called Fairfax Floors to get a quote to replace the carpet in 3/4 of our house. Kevin was prompt and professional when he arrived for the measurement appt. He brought a couple of samples, none of which we were interested in. He encouraged us to come out to his showroom to check out other options. I did so and came home with a ton of samples/ colors of carpet and padding. We agreed on the highest level of a Shaw carpet. We paired that with a 10 lb pad. He worked up a quote. It was reasonable and we were pleased with the quality of the product and confident with the company based on the many positive reviews. The one thing I can say is that the responsiveness over the phone was extremely slow, however it seems to be the norm in the industry because it happened with a few other companies we were getting quotes from as well. We ultimately went with Fairfax Floors because I felt that he worked best with our budget and tried to get us the highest quality for the price. On installation day the installers were 2 hours late, but Kevin called to inform us of the delay and they ended up working well into the evening because of the size of the job. They did a great job though and worked efficiently and were very conscientious when moving our furniture and belongings. I would recommend them and will probably use again to finish the rooms we didn't replace during this job.

Everything was great. The salesman, Matt, was extremely helpful when we were in the showroom and when he came to take measurements. The price we got was similar to the other quotes we received, but the quality of the carpet we got for that price was just so much higher. It was a great value! The installation was really quick, they did excellent work, and they left us a pretty good-sized roll of extra carpeting to use for patches. We will definitely go back to Fairfax Floors if we remodel another part of the house.

We visited the Fairfax Floors showroom based on strong reviews on Angie's List. Mike, the salesman, was very helpful in explaining options and differences in products. He came a few minutes early for the estimate, which was handled very efficiently. They were very accommodating in scheduling the installation. The installation was handled professionally. They moved our rather large and heavy furniture very carefully, and put it back where I asked them to (including a rather complicated home office system). They made a second visit at my convenience to resolve a few minor issues (replaced one board which was stained quite a bit lighter than the others, puttied a few facenailed boards). A positive experience.

Did a great job. I went to their store and got a great rate on carpet. No sales pressure. Very professional and courteous. I made appointment to measure rooms at a time that was convenient for me. Came on time and was very professional and fast. Made appointment for carpet installation at a time that was good for me. Carpet installers were very fast and professional. They vacuumed after they were done and hauled away my old carpet at a low price. New carpet was good quality. I plan to use them again for all my flooring needs. Highly recommend.

The staff are pleasant, professional and responsive. The installers worked under difficult circumstances: there was no air conditioning on the second floor, and it was a very hot (more than 90 degree) summer day. They were very focused on their work, and worked for more than five hours diligently, without break. Initially they wouldn't even stop for a water, though they did much later in the day. They even translated for me when I was having trouble communicating with some other workers from a different company who were also at the house that day! Even though they had the best price, they didn't sacrifice service or quality. Great experience!
