They were just great from the estimate to pickup, binding and delivering it back to me. Couldn't have been happier with the service.

The installers both times were neat in their work, and cleaned up well after themselves. We are very happy with the quality and appearance of the new carpeting. We would happily use this company again.

Visited the showroom and spoke to the firm owner. Followed up with a phone conversation with the owner to set up an appointment to come to the house and take measurements. Subsequent phone calls and emails to the owner went unanswered.

I talked with "Mike" at Fairfax Floors who was very professional and courteous. He set up an a appointment for the same week and sent two men to do the job. The workers were nice people and conscientious about their work. They took pride in what they did even though it was a small job. The carpet looks brand new. Very pleased with the entire experience.

From my initial meeting with Michael for the estimate to the day the service was performed, Fairfax Floors were professional, prompt, and efficient. They offered great advice in selecting the carpet, and had a great price. Compared to other companies, they were an excellent value, with a better price, better product, and better service.

We went to Fairfax floors because of Angie;s List and were not disapponted. Matt was courteous and very helpful. We were so pleased we set up appointment for measuring house right there and then. All the people we dealt with on the phone were the same as Matt. We received carpets timely and the installers were excellent and we are very happy home owners.

We visited the showroom and were immediately greeted by Mike who was very helpful in selecting colors and quality of the new carpets. We did not feel rushed and he patiently answered all of our questions. We took samples home so we could see the colors in the natural lighting to aid in the selection. Mike came the next day, right at the agreed upon time, to measure the rooms and pick up the samples. We placed an order (which included an free upgrade padding since we are Angie's members). Mike called to confirm the availability of the carpet and we set up a date for installation. The installers came right on time and everything went smoothly, no problems. We were very pleased with the entire experience. The only thing which would have been better was a senior citizen discount but I really liked them and plan to use them again after the first of the year.

Fairfax Floors did a great job. They were easy to work with and the outcome is excellent. They definitely added value to the house, and the buyers were quick to comment on how beautiful the floors looked. The home inspector remarked on the high quality of the workmanship. About 1000 square feet of carpet and laminate sheet flooring was replaced with new hardwood. About 500 square feet was replaced with new carpet, with an upgraded pad (Angie's List free benefit!), and the bathrooms, which originally had 1950's-era asphalt tile squares, were renewed with very nice looking sheet goods. The same installer handled all three jobs with great professionalism. When we found that one of the baseboard moldings was too small to cover adequately, he even drove me to Home Depot so we could pick out a wider molding! Would I use them again and would I recommend them to friends and family? You bet I would!

The new hardwood flooring needed to blend with existing (discontinued) hardwood on the first floor. This required the stairwell and its right-angle landing to be designed and stained in a way that provided good visual transition between the slightly different shades of wood. We chose Fairfax at a slightly higher price because of their reputation and high ratings, figuring they would be best to design and execute the transition. It took several calls (and weeks) to get a consultation and estimate, and the estimator seemed distracted throughout the process but we went ahead with them anyway. Once the job began, the installation crew was excellent - efficient, courteous, clearly experienced. Had it not be for them, I would probably rate the job a "C" instead of a "B". As the stairwell was installed, it became clear that the color choice and layout actually made the transition worse instead of better. It had even the installer shaking his head; he insisted that a few of the most obvious mismatches be restained the same day, but the overall effect was still not good and the installer left saying "I don't think you'll like it". He was right. I called the original estimator and, again after some delays, he returned and agreed with the issue. We came up with a different color scheme for the transition, and he left to "see what they could do". That turned out to involve sanding and re-staining half the stairwell, which Fairfax offered to do at their cost ($350) because by policy they can't guarantee the exact color of custom staining. (Actually, the original stain had come out very close to plan -- but their plan was poor.) The cost to re-stain was not unreasonable, but it does gall me to pay for someone else's mistake... The refinish subcontractor did a reasonably good job but their work was not as good as Fairfax's own crew. The color transition is much better, but they only applied one coat of urethane so the surface was rougher and not as well finished as the surrounding floor. Again, I called the original estimator and he agreed with that judgment -- but never called back. I finally bought a can of urethane and applied a second coat myself; it looks fine now. All in all, the experience was not up to the level I had expected from Fairfax Floor's other ratings. There are plenty of other highly rated hardwood flooring contractors in the area, and next time I'd go to one of them.

My interaction with Fairfax Flooring was with Matt Muller. The company was refered to me by someone else in my neighborhood. Matt was extremely professional and very responsive to my questions. I had already had someone else out for an estimate to remove our entire first floor tile/carpet and replace with hardwood. Because of the prior estimate, I had the square footage. I asked Matt for a good faith estimate over the phone. I understood that I could not hold him to that ammount because he would have to physically see the work site to give an actual estimate but at least he was willing to do so when others are not. Eventually I decided to use another supplier/installer but it was not because of any issues with Mr. Muller and Fairfax Floors.

I went in not knowing what kind of carpet I wanted and I wound up getting a good grade of carpet for a great price. They did a good job. They keep a carpet in stock that is durable and priced well. They were very organized and they had everything they needed. I thought they worked very well as a team and completed the work in a couple of hours and it looked very professional.

We had a townhouse for sale for many months, and decided to have hardwood flooring installed on the first level. The townhouse sold quickly after installation. We have previously used Fairfax Floors for new carpet installation, hardwood repair, and carpet stretching. Wouldn't hesitate to use them again and would definitely recommend. Great job.

We have used this company numerous times over the past 5 years and will all ways use them in the future. Excellent products prices and installation services. As always the installation was fast and well performed with little damage to recently painted walls and baseboards..

Our house has 1970s open stairs on all floors and had the original carpeting. Ripping it out was a mess and the guys did a good job of cleaning it up. Everything else went pretty smoothly - two types of bullnose were installed, they rigged up a filler to hide a strange angle on the stairs, carpet smooth, no ripples and no stretching after.. We were left with two large pieces of carpet after the install but since the job required lots of edging and stair wrapping I would rather have had too much carpet than not enough. Fairfax Floors offered to bind the edge of the largest piece (7x8') if I brought it over to them but that was sort of a hassle so I donated the carpet remnent to charity.

We were on a tight schedule given our move date and our plans to have new carpeting before our move-in. Ken was very helpful when we visited the showroom on a Saturday morning to select a carpeting. He came out on Tuesday to measure, got the carpeting about ten days later, and installed a couple days after that. Ken was very responsive and did a great job. The installers were on time and did a quick, neat job. I would definitely recommend Fairfax Floors. Great service.

I was very happy with the price, advice and work done. However, when I called them this spring for a small job of installing carpet in an awkward closet/under eaves space at our new home, I had difficulty getting a response.

I would give them all A’s and I would use them in the future.

In 2006 and the 2011 the start to fininsh process was efficient and smooth. However in 2007, the company seemed to have grown and added more layers of people to deal with which I did not like. However last November they seemed to be back on track. I only dealt with the salesperson and the installer.

Competitive bid on work, excellent follow-up and in-house visit. Installation when very smoothly. Carpet was laid down great, especially on the stairs.

This was a very small and routine job. I think the salesman was able to measure the job the day I went into the showroom and they installed it a week or so later. The salesman was very helpful in pointing out the features of different types of carpet. The installers were quick and efficient and did a nice job on installation. After a couple of months we ave not had any concers.
