After reading the reviews on Angie's list, went into the store to see what they had in stock. Preparing the house to be rented so didn't want to wait too long and wanted reasonable carpet prices. Matt showed me 3 in stock samples and let me take them home to decide. He came out a few days later to measure and then emailed estimate later that day. I put down a deposit (50%) and then the work was performed a week later. The men came on time and finished within a few hours. Their prices were very reasonable and they deliivered what they promised. would recommend and would use them again

We had this carpet replaced about 5 years ago by "Empire" and paid almost double. I went to to the showroom and explained our family's needs for carpet (kids, dogs, etc) Kevin alowed me to take home samples to view and select. He came to our home the next day to measure and the carpet was ready for installation in about a week. The installers were great. They even vacuumed the new carpet before putting the furniture back. They did not even break for lunch.

They did a very good job. I was pleased with their work. My floors look wonderful and everyone that comes over is so impressed with my floors. I highly recommend them. If I could give them a grade higher than an "A", I would.

From the person that answered the phone to the guys that came out to perform the estimate and repairs, everyone was very professional, courteous and accommodating. They came out and gave me an estimate the day after I initially called and then offered me a next day appointment when I did book with them. Ultimately, the next day was too soon (the walls weren't removed yet) but they worked around the time of day that I needed them to on the day that I did schedule them, even though they had a conflict. The guys that did the repair were friendly, fast and very neat. They also did an amazing job - I know where the seams would be and I still can't find them. You absolutely cannot even tell that our carpet was repaired. I would recommend them to anyone needing carpet repairs. We will also likely purchase carpeting from the in the future.

Everything went fine. I originally hired them to do a hallway and the master bedroom. They were only able to do the bedroom because the hallway would have required them to do the two adjoining rooms. We decided not to do the adjoining rooms and hallway because they were not that bad, honestly. Thanks, Fairfax Floors!

Great service. Installers arrived on time and installed the exact flooring to my exact specifications. When I went back and decided to change a small portion of the order after the fact they accommodated my request with no questions asked and no additional charge.

Fairfax Floors (Derrell) did an amazing job. They helped guide us through being a first time home buyer and navigate the myriad of other companies out there that try to sell you subpar flooring for a cheaper price. The work is immaculate and their demeanor was always focused on customer service (seems to be a rarity these days).

This is the second time I have used Fairfax Floors. Darrell is always great to work with and he does his best to get what I want for a great price. Their quote was over a thousand dollars less than multiple competitors. The entire office staff is extremely professional and they kept me informed during the scheduling process. The installation crew are very professional and they do a great job quickly. I was very happy with the entire process and I would recommend Fairfax Floors to anyone.

Outstanding in all respects. On time for all aspects of the job. Prepped the unit carefully and cleaned up well at job completion. Carpet techs were attentive to detail and professional. Superior to others we have encountered and received estimates from.

We had an extremely tight deadline to buy and install the floors. Matt and his team were super helpful in setting realistic timelines, keeping us up to date on when the floors would arrive, when the installation could begin, etc. The work itself was professional, high workmanship quality. After everything was said and done, they even cleaned after themselves. We love our floors now and are grateful to Matt and his team. Highly recommended.

I had them bid along with another company. Their price was competitive with the other company. Matt was the salesperson, and it was clear he knew exactly how to handle the project. They gave us fair pricing and did outstanding work! I would use them again in a heartbeat.

We visited their showroom and Matt did a wonerful job of steering us to what we were looking for our home. They gave us an in-house estimate. Experience was good. Prices comparable. Will go back to them again.

Excellent estimate and detail of work to be accomplished. Installation/repair team was right on time, did an excellent job. Estimated price was reduced because did not need as much material. They cleaned up before they left.

After checking Home Depot and Lowes, I consulted private flooring retailers and found them to be more knowledgeable and helpful. My budget was limited, and the first company's proposal came in rather high, so I checked with Fairfax Floors. Darrell immediately made me feel at home. He gave me a complete overview of their products, including a high-quality floating floor that fell within my price range. (My gypcrete subfloor determined the type of hardwood flooring to use.) I had a hard time making my selection, but Darrell and Kevin were patient, answered innumerable questions and let me take several samples home - repeatedly. It took me a long time to choose, but they were able to schedule the actual installation within 2 weeks of finalizing the contract. They accept credit cards, so payment is very convenient. Their subcontractor, John, was prompt, courteous and responsive. He started on time every day and did a full day's work. I had no concerns about leaving my condo while he and his apprentice worked. They cleaned up every day (there's some dust, even with prefinished floors), both in my condo and the common areas. They took care not to hit the walls in my condo, the hallway and elevator, and made sure no sawdust landed on my neighbor's balcony below. Mr. John was very careful moving the furniture to avoid marring the new floor, and encouraged me to pad all hard surfaces. Darrell checked in every day, either by phone or in person, to monitor the installation and make himself available to address any questions or concerns. I would recommend Darrell and Kevin at Fairfax Floors to my elderly mother. Overall, a very positive experience.

Mike at the store was fantastic. He helped us choose the best material for our price and project. He sent samples to the house to help us select the best color, and he consistently followed up with phone calls. The service was outstanding. Thank you!!!!

UPDATED POST (15 Sep 2010): Major creaks have developed across all portions of their work. I am sorely disappointed that I used them. In comparison to another contractor that I used for upstairs hardwood, they are very limited in ability and much higher in price! ORIGINAL POST (1/14/2009): The job went very well and I was very satisfied with their work. There was a mistake on the measurement and they ended up charging me a little more than they quoted, but that was a minor thing.

First part of the project about B grade but second totally F

I went in with my stair measurements and types (I have floating steps) written down, told them what I was looking for. Told them that I travel a lot so my availability was subject to change, and they were very accommodating. (I had to change my install date a couple of times). They came in put the carpet in, cleaned up and Ta Da! I had my new steps. They even took one of the remnants and sewed it up for a landing rug at no extra charge.

Responsive to our concerns, and the work was done smoothly. Prices were higher than the quotes we got from other shops.

They did a good job. They gave me the upgraded padding that they advertised for AL members. I was in the process of moving, so they had to move a lot of stuff around and they didn't charge me extra for that, even though I had originally told them the house would be empty.

Fairfax Floors is truly an excellent company. I checked with several company's before choosing Fairfax Floors. Fairfax had the best product for the money. I was very pleased with Matt, one of the sales persons. Matt was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He was more than willing to give me much of his time explaining the differences between carpets and answering questions about Pergo. The crew that was sent was very professional and meticulous in their work and cleanup. I would highly recommend this company and I plan to use them again.

Very pleased. I visited the showroom and was encouraged to take as many samples as I liked. Matt explained the pros and cons of each type of carpet. I never felt like I was steered to a particular product. The installation was scheduled within the week and the crew was efficient. Roller marks needed to be steamed out of the carpet, which they did the next day.

Wonderful service and high quality carpeting at a competitive price. We had a scheduling problem on our end, and they were very helpful in changing their work plan to suit us. I would absolutely purchase flooring from Fairfax floors again.

An excellent company to work with. I checked 3 companies. Fairfax Floors' estimate was the most straightforward. They were lowest on yardage (118 square yards) and cost. They meant it when they said the price included everything. Another company estimated 136 square yards and included many "extra" charges. Scheduling and installation were very smooth. The 2 installers were professional, courteous, and experienced. They moved the furniture carefully and did not leave many marks on the baseboards and walls. They arrived about 9:30 AM and stayed until the job was finished around 8:30 PM.
