In early March of 2022, I hired the skilled tree trimming services of Economy Tree Care, Inc. My residential project involved the trimming of three distinctly challenging trees: a large mature Greeenleaf American Holly (approx. 38 foot height), requiring the use of a large "articulated cherry picker bucket," in order to elevate the tree cutter to the necessary height and angle; and a magnificent mature (approx. 22 foot height) Japanese Crepe Myrtle tree requiring a very special "knuckling" of each limb; and a large American Holly Hedge (approx. 18 foot height and 40 feet in length) requiring multiple climbers, internally climbing delicate limbs. The team of experienced Economy Tree Care workers tackled the projects simultaneously. They worked for over 6 hours to expertly complete their assigned tasks. The workers were each individually directed by Mr. Ovidio Baten, who artistically reshaped these long neglected trees. The final results were all outstanding! Many of my neighbors stopped by and complemented the efforts, skills, equipment and results of Mr. Baten and his team of extraordinary cutters. And, the bonus... the price for all these services was quite reasonable! I sincerely wish to publicly share my enthusiastic and fully satisfied endorsement of Economy Tree Care, Inc. F. Economy Tree care did a very good and careful job of cutting down the trees and not harming other nearby trees. I did need to clean up some of the debris afterwards, otherwise i’d give them 5 stars.

This is the third time that I have contracted with this company to remove multiple trees. The current work was performed in approximately 4 hours. The work area was immaculately cleaned and all debris removed from the work site. This was consistent with my prior experiences with this company.
Description of Work: Removed 7 medium sized (12 to 18 inch diameter, 60 feet high or so) wild cherry trees, removed a large brush pile and ground out a stump.

Went fine. There was a delay because their truck broke down, but they came and did the work- and put all the branches they cut in their truck and drove off. Work took about 1 hour

The work went very well. The crew arrived on time, performed their work with dispatch and did an extraordinary job cleaning up branches, leaves, wood chips, etc. The cost was very reasonable. This was the third major tree removal performed by this company on my property. I anticipate employing them in the future and recommend them w/o reservation.

The entire process of receiving an estimate and scheduling the work went very smoothly. Ovidio came out to estimate the cost of the job within a week. Emily provided the estimate and scheduling by email, all handled quite promptly. The crew did an expert job. This was the third time we have hired Economy Tree Care and we would not hesitate to hire them again when needed.
Description of Work: We hired Economy Tree Care to take down two large beech trees and to cut back branches on two other trees (a total of about nine branches). One of the large beech trees was actually three individual trees that had grown together. The beech trees were cut into firewood logs that were neatly stacked by the crew. Branches were piled off to one side.

They did a great job taking it down, with the exception that my gutter was damaged by a falling tree branch and it looks pretty horrible now. They banged it out a little, but it's right in the front of the house. Also, I really wish they had put down plywood or something over the grass before starting work so that the heavy machinery wouldn't have torn up my grass so badly and falling large tree branches wouldn't have created so many holes in my yard. So, the dangerous tree is gone, but my yard looks more like a moonscape.

Stephanie, who mans the phones, did a great job keeping me apprised of scheduling and a subsequent change. The crew showed up on time, went to work and took care of what needed to be done in a most professional manner. The owner himself, Ovidio Baten, pruned the delicate ornamental maple perfectly. Before they left, they removed and shredded all of the brush and then blew the lawn and driveway clean before they left. This is the second time I've used this company, couldn't be happier, and highly recommend them to anyone who needs tree service of any kind. Ovidio is honest and he and his crew are conscientious about their work and are most pleasant to deal with.

They sent a guy out and it took them, most of the companies were able to either give an estimate right away or email it to us in a matter of a day, they probably took about five days. we've given up on them actually. We thought they weren't giving us an estimate. None of them charged us for the quote. They were actually the lowest bid but we didn't have confidence in them because it took them so long to get back to us. All the quotes we got were fair. As I recall with their quote, some of the guys, most of them walked the lot with me. We had marked the trees and we discussed what we wanted, we wanted some things pruned here and there. As I recall, I had to suggest as what all we wanted done. They weren't as attentive as the other ones were. They came when they said when they were gonna come when they finally called. Of all of them, they seemed the least interested in doing the work.
Description of Work: I got an estimate from them, but I didn't use them. I had eleven trees I needed taken down and so I got an estimate from them and from a couple of other companies and ultimately went with one of the other companies.

Very well. Company was very responsive. I like email communication and they tolerated that! Had great feedback during the walk-through and I ended up changing what trees I wanted removed. It really worked better for the space in the end. We're quick to update me of any schedule delays (only a half day delay in start). Didn't have to be home while they worked which was helpful. Very good at their jobs.

We've hired Economy Tree Care several times in the past and we are always very pleased with their work. Ovidio is a pleasure to work with and he is very attentive to our needs. We love our trees, and they never recommend taking them down unless it's necessary. Economy Tree responded very quickly and even returned a voicemail I had left on a weekend. They performed fantastic work, and unexpectedly discovered concrete inside of the tree that they were taking down. This required additional time and manpower, but the team powered-through and got the job done. In addition, they didn't charge me for the additional effort because it wasn't my fault (but it wasn't their fault either!) It is such a relief not to be nickle-and-dimed, and I always trust Economy Tree to provide great service at a fantastic price. Thank you!!

This is the second time we used Economy Tree Care and will continue to hire them in the future. They always listen to our concerns and do all that they can to keep our trees both healthy and safe. The estimator responded quickly and swung by after working hours, which was extremely convenient for us. The team showed up exactly on time and performed all of the work perfectly. Thank you for the great service!!

They were excellent. They got the job done fast. They were organized. They cleaned up after themselves. It was really great. They were here for about five hours and they did not stop one time, for water and stuff like that, they said no, no, no. They got the job done and like I said they cleaned up after themselves. We were amazed.

They had an opening so they were able to work me in early which was nice. The crew was sized right for the job and that resulted in a fast and timely completion. I had taken down a couple of smaller trees in the approximate work area and with the stump grinder there for their job they went ahead and hit them with the grinder for no extra charge. That was a nice value added surprise. They did a good job on clean up. This was the second time I have had them over for removals.

We contacted Economy Tree Service in early March to get a quote to remove some damaged limbs from our large, nearly 200 year old oak tree. We also contacted a few other tree services, since we really had no idea what work would be involved or the level of effort. Economy's price was fair and within the range of other quotes, but unlike the other services, Ovidio called me after looking at the tree to prepare me for the estimate and help me understand the work he believed needed to be performed. Ovidio showed up early on the scheduled day to make sure there was no ice that would impact his team's ability to work safely. Once he saw that the tree was clear of snow and ice, his team arrived and began their work at the scheduled time. The team worked the entire day with only a lunch break. As planned, the team cut the large branches of the tree into manageable pieces for later splitting into firewood. The team also cleaned up at the end of the day. They took care to try and blow or sweep up the saw dust that had been generated and made sure all of the debris that had been hauled to the chipper was cleaned up. We were very happy with their work. The tree looks great! It's really allowed a surprising about of new light into the back yard. Thank you Ovidio and crew!

Based on my experience I would not hire this company again. This was to be a 2-day job. The first day was to cut down the poplar tree. The second day was to grind out the stump and take care of the oak tree. On day 1, I left as the company arrived. When I came home around 4:30 that afternoon, to my horror I saw that they were just dropping the cut stumps directly to the ground, leaving 1 foot deep divets in the ground. I had assumed they were going to be using ropes to lower the stumps to the ground. I called the owner to complain about this and he said this is how they did this, but assured me that they would be filling in the holes with fill dirt and coming back to smooth everything out. Also, at times, they came close to having falling stumps come very close to hitting my side porch. The foreman on site also informed me that while they were cutting the branches off the tree one of them hit the roof and damaged some shingles. I also talked with the owner about this and he said they would be sending out a separate roofing company to repair the shingles. Later that night when I went to bed, I discovered that the branch actually went through the roof into the attic broke a joist and pushed into my bedroom ceiling and into the drywall which left a huge hole in my bedroom ceiling. When I spoke with the owner the next day I informed him of this and told him that I was hiring a third party contractor of my choosing to repair the bedroom and I would be deducting the cost from their final bill. The owner, Ovidio Baten, said he wanted to have another contractor come and inspect what my contractor did (probably to make sure that I was not ripping him off), but I did not comment on this. Also on the first day, I saw that they were walking through my flower beds and I sternly told them not to do so, and they trampled through and flower bed and killed the tulips around my oak tree. Based on what I had experienced at this point I was extremely uncomfortable with them working on the oak tree, so I asked to get verification that the person who would be pruning the oak tree was a certified arborist. I had gotten six quotes (all people recommended on Angies List I might add) before choosing this company, and most of the companies said that a certified arborist would be addressing the oak tree. I walked up to the foreman to ask who would be working on the oak tree and the foreman pointed to the gentlemen next to him so I turned to the guy and asked him if he was a certified arborist. I immediately realized he did not even speak English. I immediately knew I did not want him working on the tree if I could not communicate with him directly, so I told the foreman that I did not want them touching the tree and would be telling Ovidio this in the morning when he came on site. On the 2nd day I showed both Ovidio and "roofer" (who actually is a construction remodeling company) the bedroom damage. It appears the person repaired the roof did an okay job with the repair. The was a big rainstorm the day after the repair was made and we could not detect any leaks, but he did have to screw two 2x6 into the joist to support it. And I did tell Ovidio in person that I did not want them to work on the oak tree. After all this, Ovidio had the nerve to complain to me that all the wood that was cut down from the tree had to be hauled by hand from the drop site to the truck on the street because the wood sections were so heavy that it broke the mini truck that they used to transport the logs. Like that's my fault? Then my last complaint is that the fill dirt that they used to fill in the holes was full of not just rocks, but also GLASS. My neighbors all say I should make them come back and remove and have them refill will good dirt, but I want nothing else to do with this company. So when all was said and done, I paid the cost for the tree cutting and the stump grinding minus the cost of the bedroom drywall while they covered the cost of the shingle repair.
Description of Work: Initial contract was to 1) Cut down huge poplar tree by hand as close to the ground as possible and haul away wood and brush ($3,600), 2) Grind the stump and leave the mulch in place ($475), and 3) Remove major deadwood and suckers and thin existing oak tree and haul away debris ($575).

We ran out of firewood for this year in February and called around. No one had firewood left it seemed! We finally called Economy Tree care and they stated that not only did they have firewood, but that it had been seasoned for a year and a half. On top of that, they charged $220-240 for a full cord of firewood (don't remember the exact amount), delivery was free, and stacking was paid by the hour. My wife and I were skeptical as it seemed too good to be true that they had wood when others didn't, theirs was well seasoned, and the price was very competitive but we decided to go ahead anyway. On the day of delivery, the driver was supposed to show up in the morning so I took a half day off. At 11:30am, I called Economy Tree and the operator informed me that they were running late and would be there sometime in the afternoon. There was a rushed apology and no offer at all to "make things right" when I explained I'd taken a half day off and hadn't even received a phone call to let me know they'd be late. The driver finally showed up around 2 with the wood in a large, industrial truck and unloaded a pile onto my driveway. Stacking at that point was continuous and quick. He finished in 1.5 to 2 hours and cleaned up the driveway as best he could before he left. The wood was stacked exactly where I'd specified. I did not measure to see whether it was a full cord so I can't speak to that, but there is a LOT of wood. Some of the pieces are slightly too big and unwieldy but I have not found that to be a huge problem. Most importantly, the wood is seasoned very well and catches immediately with limited kindling/firestarter use. Overall, my wife and I are very happy with Economy Tree Care and would order firewood from them again.
