Dianne made a point of saying that no house is perfect the first time we met to discuss buying a house, and repeated that frequently throughout the process. Then we found the perfect house together, at least for us, and pretty quickly. We were literally under contract for the house we ultimately purchased in under a week. Dianne said things would move pretty quickly after that, and they certainly did. I don't think we could have kept up with everything that needed to be done over the next couple of weeks without a lot of patient help from somebody who really knows what they?re doing, which Dianne always provided. I would defiantly recommend Dianne for anyone who's looking to buy or sell and when it comes time to sell our old home (we're currently renting) we'll be looking for her again.

We had our first conversation with Dianne back in February, 2013 when we were researching the housing market in the Reston/Herndon area as we were planning to move back to NOVA after almost a decade in MD. We still owned our place in MD at the time, and told Dianne that we weren?t ready to buy until we sell our place first, and she was immediately super helpful and not once was pushy in any way. Dianne sent us comparables that sold in our MD neighborhood, and kept us informed of what was going on with the NOVA market the entire time. We found Dianne among numerous buyer agents on Angieslist and set up multiple meetings with various individuals. After initial meeting we were definitely comfortable with Dianne being our realtor and would recommend to her to everyone. Dianne Hansen listed and sold my customers home in 2 days for $19,000 above the asking price. This home was listed 2 weeks after a neighbors house 3 doors down went up for sale at $450,000. Laurie Garden was a pleasure to work with. As a first time home buyer the purchasing process was a bit overwhelming and she was always a patient and calming presence during a very stressful time ensuring me that everything would work out. We contacted Dianne back in February of 2013 to get a feel for the market as we were on the fence about selling our home. At that time we decided to wait and told Dianne that we would contact her once we were ready to move forward. In late June/early July we contacted Dianne again and after meeting with her and her associate (separate review being done for Mrs. Sapone) we decided to go ahead and place it on the market. We had been prepping for the sale of the house for the past year so the majority of work that would have normally been required on our part, was in fact, already done. Her suggestions for the few things we needed to do were minor and easily taken care of. Within two weeks of that meeting our house was ready to go. The only negative that I originally saw happening was the photos were taken by the realtors. In the past all our houses, when put on the market, were photographed by a professional and then tweaked to ensure the best possible pictures were going out. I was not a fan of the realtor taking the pictures but they assured me it would be more than fine and that the pictures would be wonderful. I'm a big enough person to admit they were right and I was wrong. The pictures turned out great and we had a lot of response to the ad. Dianne suggested we go "live" at ten pm on a Thursday, which we did. By Friday we had one showing scheduled and two on Saturday. The Sunday immediately after was the open house and there was a good showing of people. By Monday night we had a contract on the house. All in all the whole thing went well and Dianne was very careful to make sure our best interests were being looked after. For example, after the inspection my husband and I had agreed to fix the list as it wasn't large, nor were they costly. So we thought. We sent it back to Dianne with our electronic signatures and said sure sure, we'll do it. She kept sending us emails and phone calls asking were we sure - which really annoyed me at first. But then I realized she was asking that for a reason and once we talked it through we realized we didn't want to sign it the way it was written. Had she not been paying attention that could have ended up costing up. As it was though we were able to address what the buyers wanted but in a reasonable way at a reasonable cost. Everyone ended up getting what they wanted. She was very responsive to every phone call and email - and believe me I had a lot of questions and issues during the sale. Dianne recently helped us buy a house in Burke, VA. We chose to contact her after reading positive reviews on Angie's list and we were not disappointed. When we originally contacted Dianne we weren't exactly sure where we wanted to be in Fairfax county being that we lived in NJ at the time. She helped us narrow down the area based on our needs (close to transportation) and wants (close to family in the area). She also made it easy for us to look at houses available in these areas using technology that was available to her. Dianne spent our first visits understanding what we were looking for in a house. She didn’t want to waste our time looking at houses that didn’t fit our needs. Dianne also made us aware of the different rules that existed in NJ and VA so we would be prepared when we decided to make an offer. Her assistance didn't stop at the closing either, she followed along afterwards to make sure my escrow made it back to me and overpayment of my county taxes due to the title company collecting them even though the mortgage company had already deducted it from escrow.

We met Dianne after an unpleasant experience with another realtor. We had decided to do house hunting on our own, using tools like Trulia and Zillow. We went to open houses and called numbers on signs. We found her because we wanted to see a specific house. She showed up and showed us the house. After that, she continued to suggest really good potential properties and our position softened on realtors. The DC Metro and Northern VA market was very different from the Boston one. And she helped us negotiate the last of the issues at the closing. We came away from the closing both grateful and impressed by the level of service we received from Dianne. We wouldn't hesitate to hire her again or to recommend her to our friends. She made a difficult move bearable. When we compare our experience with the experiences of our friends and peers who moved recently, Dianne did a much better job. Dianne is a true miracle worker. She seemed to know everything there was about selling our home. She was with us every step of the way and kept us informed of all the people who looked at our home. She called realtors back after a showing and asked how people felt about the home. Dianne also had a real photographer to take pictures of our home and they looked great. It's funny because when we were done getting our house ready to sell it looked like a house that I always wanted. She held 2 open houses in 2 weeks and our house sold for asking price the third week. We were very impressed with Dianne and know you won't be disappointed when you choose her. She really was a life saver because we felt overwhelmed and had little time to concentrate on preparing for the sell. We're very grateful to Dianne and appreciate all her hard work.
